To unlock the “Monkey Island Shanty,” you must complete all 43 commendations in The Legend of Monkey Island Tall Tales.
You will unlock most commendations by simply playing through the Tall Tales since they are unmissable and story-related. However, a fair amount of them require you to go out of your way to seek them out.
Unlike the Shores of Gold Tall Tales, it is possible to complete every Tall Tale in the series just once and earn every commendation for it.
Once you complete every commendation in The Legend of Monkey Island, the ‘Monkey Island Shanty’ will automatically be added to your Shanties Radial. You will not need to purchase it.

I’ve managed to complete every commendation required, and yet the title and shanty are both still locked for me. Re-logging and respawning both do nothing. Is there a fix? Because I remember something similar going on with the pirate’s life shanty as well…
It’s a known issue right now. This is the statement from Rare on the official Discord: “The team are aware that the Commendation for completing all three Tall Tales in The Legend of Monkey Island may not be unlocking for some players. We are investigating this and will provide an update as soon as possible.”
