Pirate cooks around the Sea of Thieves can rejoice! The spatula has arrived! Well, it’s not a spatula, but instead, a cutlass. However, the Chef’s Cutlass is the next best thing to having a spatula!
The Chef’s Cutlass, which looks identical to a spatula, can aid pirates in acting out their culinary dreams on the sea as they chop at their cooked food with this dull instrument of destruction!
How to get the Chef's Cutlass
You must reach Renown level 50 during Season 9 to unlock the Chef’s Cutlass.
Reaching Renown Level 50 will also earn you the Legendary Bone Hunter Spyglass if you are a Pirate Legend and the Sting Tide Costume 2 if you purchase the Season Nine Plunder Pass.
How do you raise your Renown Level?
There are four main ways of raising your Renown level:
- Completing repeatable Renown actions
- Completing Deeds and Trials
- Completing challenges from Special Events
- Completing Deeds from Adventures

Just be sure you reach Renown Level 50 before the Season ends, and the Chef’s Cutlass is no longer attainable. It’s very rare for Seasonal cosmetics to return, and if they do, they are usually harder to acquire the second time around.
