The Battle for the Sea of Thieves is here! The Pirate Lord and Captain Flameheart have declared war against each other. There can only be one victor for the sea, and you’ll need to choose a side. Will you fight for the Pirate Lord and his Guardians of Fortune or Flameheart and his Servants of the Flame?
What is the Battle for the Sea of Thieves?
The Battle for the Sea of Thieves revolves around Season Eight’s on-demand PVP feature. Now, with the power of the Hourglass of Fate, you can pledge your Allegiance to a Faction and immediately dive into battle against a rival ship.
To choose your Faction, interact with the Hourglass of Fate on your Captain’s Table. You can spin the hourglass to select your Faction and then vote to pledge your Allegiance. As soon as you do, you will have opted into the on-demand PVP and can start hunting opposing Faction ships. However, in turn, rival Faction ships can invade you!
The more opponent Faction ships you sink, the more gold you will earn in your Hourglass of Fate and Allegiance for your Faction. To cash out the gold from your Hourglass of Fate, you’ll need to leave the fight by voting at your Faction’s Emissary Table on any Outpost.
As you level up your Faction of choice, you’ll unlock cosmetics, titles, and even a curse!
