Captain Flameheart’s thirst for Ancient Power grows after pillaging the Ancient Temples for their forbidden knowledge. Now, armed with secrets he shouldn’t have, he’s awakened his most loyal servants, the Order of Bone and Blade, to help him recover Skulls of the Banished.

As the Reaper’s Bones spread their influence further across the Sea of Thieves, one of their latest inventions appears to have washed ashore: the Cannon of Rage!

Order of the Bone and Blade Skeletons

Order of Bone and Blade Skeletons are helpful companions that can fight enemies for you, dig up and carry treasure your treasure, and solve your Quests.

You can randomly find Order of Bone and Blade Skeletons on large islands. Initially buried, you’ll need to dig an Order of Bone and Blade Skeleton out of the ground and revive them before they join your crew. When buried, their hand will stick out of the ground and glint red from a distance.

Unlike Bone Caller Skeletons, Order of Bone and Blade Skeletons can only follow you on the island where you find them. They cannot leave the island and join you on your ship.

Also, unlike Bone Caller Skeletons, you can revive Order of Bone and Blade Skeletons if they die in battle. However, if another crew revives them, they will switch allegiance and fight for them!

Cannon of Rage

The Cannon of Rage is a portable cannon you can deploy on almost any flat surface, from islands to ships. You can find the Cannon of Rage in the Vaults of emergent Skeleton Forts, Forts of Fortune, and Forts of the Damned. You also have a chance to discover one randomly in the Treasuries of Sea Forts and island beaches.

While the Canon of Rage’s mobility can give you various strategic advantages over your foes, it comes with a giant risk! The Cannon of Rage can ignite and implode with overuse or taking too much damage.

Each shot fired from the cannon will generate heat. If it generates too much heat, the cannon will explode and cause devastating damage to any pirates or ships nearby. You’ll need to manage the timing of your shots to ensure it doesn’t overheat.

On top of carefully timing your shots, you’ll also need to watch out for any damage the cannon might take. If it is damaged too much too quickly, the cannon will overheat and explode. Weapons, cannons, fire, and other explosions can damage the cannon.

Search for Ancient Secrets Voyage

The Search for Ancient Secrets is the first ever Reaper’s Bones Voyage. During the Voyage, you’ll summon a crew of skeletons to help you find and retrieve a Skull of the Banished!

Unlike other Trading Company Voyages, you will be on the Map Table for all to see during the Voyage. The Flag of The Reaper’s Mark will be equipped on your ship as soon as you start. You can’t lower the flag unless you complete or cancel the Voyage.

To complete the Voyage, you’ll need to work with your crew of skeletons to unearth three Ancient Pillars, break their protective seals, and reveal the location of the Sarcophagus that holds the Skull of the Banished. The Voyage will test your island knowledge as you must decipher vague depictions of different places around the island to find the Ancient Pillars.

If you can break the seals and open the Sarcophagus, you’ll get the Skull of the Banished. But that’s not the end of your adventure!

If you need help completing the Voyage, we have a dedicated guide here to walk you through it. If you need help finding the Reaper Contact, you can head to the location guide here. And, if you are stuck finding that last Ancient Pillar, we have a guide here just for that.

Skull of the Banished

The Skull of the Banished is a unique piece of treasure that you can only acquire from the Search for Ancient Secrets Voyage. You can only sell it to the Reaper’s Bones on The Reaper’s Hideout. What makes it unique is unlike most treasures, it is marked on the map table with a distinct marker, allowing all pirates to track its location. As soon as you obtain one, you’ll want to make your way to The Reaper’s Hideout as quickly as possible before a rival crew steals it!
