One of the many puzzles you must solve during The Quest for Guybrush Tall Tale is how to open Stan’s Safe. Inside the safe is the proof you need to complete the Trial of Thievery!
Luckily, if you see the safe, the combination is nearby! The real trick is deciphering the combination when you find it!
How to open Stan's Safe
To open Stan’s Safe, you must find the safe’s combination in Stan’s Sales Ledger. Stan’s Sales Ledger is on the counter across from the safe. Open up the ledger and flip to the end. You are looking for a phrase on the bottom right corner of the last page. The string of words and numbers will look like “Left 2 Right 3 Left 2” or “Left 3 Right 4 Left 3”. That phrase is the safe’s combination.
So, for example, if your combination is “Left 2 Right 3 Left 2”, you need to turn the safe’s handle to the left two times, to the right three times, and to the left two times.
Interact with the safe and turn the handle to the left, right, and left as directed. If you’ve turned the handle the correct number of times, you will open the safe. Inside, you will find the Idol o’ Many Hands!
After you pick up the Idol o’ Many Hands, give it to Corina to complete the Trial of Thievery. Don’t forget to tip Stan into the ocean if you haven’t already! Pushing Stan into the water will unlock the ‘Stantastic Voyage’ commendation.
