Guybrush Threepwood needs your help! The Pirate Lord invited him and his wife Elaine from the world of Monkey Island to the Sea of Thieves to celebrate their honeymoon. Unfortunately, no one has heard from them since they started their voyage to the Sea of Thieves.
With some assistance from Captain Kate Capsize, you’ll need to travel to the Sea of the Damned and investigate a bizarre version of Mêlée Island conjured by the memories of Guybrush. Hopefully, you’ll find Guybrush and bring him back to the land of the living!
The Journey to Mêlée Island Tall Tale
To start the first Legend of Monkey Island Tall Tale, The Journey to Mêlée Island, you’ll want to launch Sea of Thieves, choose “Play,” and then select either “Adventure” or “The Legend of Monkey Island.” You can embark on The Journey to Mêlée Island Tall Tale from either option. However, you’ll have a head start if you choose “The Legend of Monkey Island,” as you will spawn directly in front of the location you need to be to start the Tall Tale.
After you have chosen your Ship Type, assembled your crew, and set sail, you will find yourself at an Outpost. If you chose Adventure, you’ll be inside the Tavern and must find Capsize Charters on the Outpost. You can easily spot it by looking for a red-headed pirate, Kate, standing before a sizable yellow sail.
If you chose “The Legend of Monkey Island,” you will appear directly in front of Kate and Capsize Charters.
Once you find Capsize Charters, approach the wooden bench next to Kate and look at the book. You’ll see a prompt to “Vote For Tall Tale”. As soon as you interact with the book, the Tall Tale will begin, and Kate will fill you in on your quest!
The Pirate Lord will appear during the cutscene and will open a portal in a nearby archway out in the water. After the cutscene is over, board your ship and sail through the green-filled archway.
Once you are through, you will have genuinely started your journey to Mêlée Island, where unknown adventures await!
