One of the many commendations you can complete during The Lair of LeChuck Tall Tale is the “Whoops…” commendation. You can start working on the commendation as soon as you arrive at Monkey Island during this Tall Tale.

If you need help completing the rest of The Lair of LeChuck Tall Tale, check out our entire walkthrough here.

If you are just looking to complete “Whoops…” and hit your own ship using the primitive art, your first step is to make your way to Monkey Island!

Whoops... Commendation

To complete the “Whoops…” commendation and hit your own ship using the Primitive Art, you must hurl a Boulder at your vessel using the Primitive Art on top of the hill above the riverbed.

To successfully hit your ship, you must dock it where a Boulder can reach it and correctly rotate the Primitive Art to aim for it.

Dock your ship

There are only two locations where you can hit your ship with a Boulder from the Primitive Art. One of them is on the far West shoreline.

Dock your ship just next to where the sand ends and the red rocks begin. If you park your ship in that corner, you should be able to hit it. Be sure to pull your ship as close to the shoreline as possible. Parking your ship parallel to the beach will give you the most surface area to hit.

You might have to adjust your ship’s position after you fire a Boulder and see where it lands.

Rotate Primitive Art

Make your way to the island’s Northside, where the riverbed is, and climb up the footholds to the Primitive Art. Interact with the Primitive Art to rotate it.

Rotate Primitive Art

After docking your ship, go to the island’s Northside, where the riverbed is. Cross over the riverbed and climb up the footholds to the Primitive Art.

Once you are at the Primitive Art, interact with it to rotate it. You’ll want to turn the Primitive Art to the right until it faces the memoir spot by the red rocks. The side without the Boulder should be facing South West.

Drop Boulder

Once you’ve rotated the art correctly, climb another foothold to reach the ledge above the Primitive Art. You’ll find a pile of Boulders you can interact with next to a sign. Pick up a Boulder and place it on the carved X near the end of the ledge.

Once the Boulder is in position, you can push it on the Primitive Art. The Boulder will fly from the Primitive Art above the jungle and hit your ship. When the Boulder hits your ship, you’ll unlock the “Whoops…” commendation.

If the Boulder misses, take the zipline down back to your ship and adjust where you need to. Use your Spyglass to follow the Boulder and see exactly where it lands.
