How to do the A Guided Tour Commendation

One of the many commendations you can complete during The Journey to Mêlée Island Tall Tale is the ‘A Guided Tour’ commendation. You can start working on the commendation once you arrive at Mêlée Island during this Tall Tale.

If you are just looking to complete ‘A Guided Tour and take Murray on a tour of the town’s key locations, your first step is to purchase the Chef’s Uniform so you can free Otis.

After you have purchased the Chef’s Uniform, cooked Root Beer Stewed Meat, dispatched Walt, and freed Otis, you can start working on this commendation.

Freeing Otis will allow you to pick up Captain Coco from the Jail. Captain Coco is important as you must swap him with Murray to take Murray off the mantle.

Once you are holding Murray, you can take Murray on a tour of the town’s key locations. When he comments about the location you’ve taken him to, you’ll know that you have successfully taken Murray to that location. Murray must be in your hands when you take him to a location for him to talk and receive credit.

Also, make sure you only place Murray on Walt’s body after you have visited all nine locations with Murray and unlocked the commendation! You don’t want to place Murray on the skeleton Murray before you finish the tour.

Town's Key Location #1

The first place you want to take Murray is the jetty behind the Kitchen. If you haven’t unlocked the back door to the Kitchen yet, use the keys near it to open it up. Then, step out on the jetty with Murray.

Once he comments on destroying and plundering ships, the Sherif drowning people, ships burning to ashes, it being tranquil, or some other comment, you will receive credit for taking him to this location.

Town's Key Location #2

The second place you want to take Murray is the Scumm Bar. Walk around the bar until he mentions something about the bar, like the stench of the customers, renaming the bar to SKULL bar, conquering the Caribbean, or some other comment. You can always double-check the Commendations page for the Tall Tale to see if you have made progress.

Town's Key Location #3

The third place you want to take Murray is Lookout Point. So, climb up the mountain to Lookout, and when you get to the top, Murray will comment on seeing his house or having such a wonderful view.

Town's Key Location #4

The fourth place you want to take Murray is Low Street. Walk around Citizen, the Men of Low Moral Fiber, and the Clock Tower until he comments on architecture or how quiet it is.

Town's Key Location #5

The fifth place you want to take Murray is the Clock Tower. If you don’t have access to the Clock Tower yet, pour the pirate with the Clock Tower Key grog from the Kitchen three times until he passes out. Once the pirate is unconscious, you can steal the key and open the door at the bottom of the Clock Tower.

Once you reach the top of the Clock Tower, Murray will comment on being immortal or how the Clock Tower hasn’t worked in years.

Town's Key Location #6

The sixth place you want to take Murray is the General Store. Walk inside the General Store and move around with Murray until he comments on evil commencing or stealing something.

The seventh place you want to take Murray is the Alley. Walk up and down the Alley until he comments about Gunpowder Gummies, dead ends, the circus, or some other comment.

You might have to leave and return to the Alley to trigger Murray talking about the Alley, as he will first want to talk about Walt’s body.

The eighth place you want to take Murray is the Church. Walk inside the Church and move around until he comments on it not being a place for a demonic skull, how he doesn’t like it in here, humiliation, a wrong turn, or some other comment.

The ninth and final place you must take Murray is the Jail. He will comment on breaking out of a few places like this in his time, Hangman’s Digest, feeling at home, or some other comment.

      Hmm, try leaving and coming back. Sometimes you need to try another spot and come back to get Murray to comment on it.

        Make you sure try leaving and coming back. It might even help to walk back to Low Street and then try the General Store again.
