With the introduction of Sirens comes the arrival of The Trident of Dark Tides! The Trident of Dark Tides is a new emergently found weapon that players can wield. It features different levels of charge-based attacks that each do an additional amount of damage. The more charge you build up, the more damage you’ll do!
The Trident of Dark Tides can be picked up, used, and dropped much like the Ashen Winds Skull. They will be hard to find in the Sea of Thieves!
How to find a Trident of Dark Tides
You can find Tridents of the Dark in the following places:
- Washed up on beaches
- Sunken just off the shores of islands
- In loot of defeated Megalodons, Krakens and Skeleton Ships
- Locked away inside Skeleton Fort Vaults
- In the hull of a shipwreck
- During the A Pirate’s Life Tall Tales
If you happen to drop your trident, don’t worry! A dropped Trident of Dark Tides will glint when viewed from a distance, similar to treasure.
How to use the Trident of Dark Tides
You can charge up The Trident of Dark Tides by holding the fire button down. As soon as you start holding the button, a bubble will begin to grow on the end of the trident. As it charges up, the bubble will grow. The longer it takes to charge up, the larger, slower, and more powerful the bubble becomes. Let go of the fire button and watch the bubble fly!
You can hold down your secondary fire button to aim down the trident and line up a perfect shot!
If you are a quick enough shot, you can detonate the bubble mid-air by hitting it with another bubble or shooting it with a gun!
The Trident of Dark Tides has a limited number of uses before it runs out of power and dissolves away. It harnesses its power from the gem near the end of it.
Similar to the Ashen Winds Skull, you can keep track of how much firepower you have left by how bright the gem glows.
Bubble Sizes
The Trident of Dark Tides has three various bubble sizes: small, medium and large.
The small bubble is fast to charge up and even faster flying through the air. Though quick and easy to aim, it has lower damage than the heavier shots.
The medium bubble does higher damage. This shot is slower moving than the small.
And finally, the large bubble is the biggest of the three shots. It takes the longest to charge up and moves slowly through the air before exploding into a large, high damage, explosion!
