The Shrine of Tribute is one of the six Shrines found in the Sunken Kingdom. When it was still above land, this structure was once a place of great importance to the Ancients. Unfortunately, the sea consumed what once belonged to them, and the Sirens claimed it for their own by building a Shrine around it.
You can still find many artifacts built by the Ancients inside, one in particular that guards a secret. But, unfortunately, you won’t be able to uncover that secret just yet. That is, not until you have found all 30 journals scattered throughout the Sunken Kingdom.
This guide will walk you through the Shrine, step by step, showing you how to solve the puzzles, uncover each secret, and read every journal found within the Shrine.
You will unlock the Shrine of Tribute and Mystery of the Shrine of Tribute commendations if you follow along.
Don’t forget to store any treasure you find along the way in the Sunken Merfolk Statues!
The Shrine of Tribute: Step by Step
Step 1: Sail to the Shrine of Tribute
You can find the Shrine of Tribute in The Ancient Isles just West of Plunder Outpost. You can locate it on your Map Table at the coordinates G18.
As you sail closer to the Shrine, you will spot purple and blue lights swirling into the sky. These lights help indicate the exact location of the Shrine below the water.
Park your ship within the lights and dive into the water!
Step 2: Enter the Shrine of Tribute
Once you arrive above the Shrine of Tribute, swim down and head to the East side of the Shrine.
Where is the entrance to the Shrine of Tribute?
You can find the entrance to the Shrine of Tribute at the base of the Shrine on the Eastside.
As you swim down towards the East side of the Shrine, you will see a stone-circled staircase covered in bright coral. Swim towards the staircase. You’ll find that it leads to a locked stone door.
Use the lever inside the staircase to lower the stone door blocking the entrance of the Shrine.

Step 3: Swim to center of Shrine
Swim West through the recently opened underwater tunnel and then swim straight down.
At the bottom of the room you just entered, you will see a Siren Statue Puzzle mural on the Eastside, just below the Sunken Merfolk Statue.
Step 4: Solve the Siren Statue Puzzle
Study the Siren Statue Puzzle mural and take note of the following Siren Statue arm positions:
Chain Siren Statue = Low
Coral Siren Statue = Middle
Gem Siren Statue = High

Step 5: Locate Gem Siren Statue
Before you go hunting down the Siren Statues, you’ll want to read a nearby journal. So, facing the mural, turn around, and you will find a journal sitting on some rubble next to some dark red coral. Read it, and you will have uncovered your first secret. The name of this journal is ‘1. Shrine of Tribute’.
Now that you have read the first journal, it is time to find the first Siren Statue. From the mural, face South and swim through the South path away from the room with the mural.
As you swim through several corridors, you will come to a room covered in bright blue coral as well as the first Undersea Vent down this path. At the base of the Undersea Vent is the following journal. Read it, and you will have uncovered your second secret. The name of this journal is ‘2. My Friends!’.
Keep swimming forward, past the journal, and you will eventually come to a juncture with a stone statue that has holes in it. This juncture has a path that leads left to the West and a path that leads straight to the North.

Swim down the left path to the West and then make a right. You will find the Gem Siren Statue here. Damage the statue until its arm is in the “High” position.

Step 6: Locate Coral Siren Statue
After positioning the Gem Siren Statue, swim back to the juncture with the small stone statue and make a left to continue along your original path to the North.
You will come to the Siren Statue with the conch in its hand that you must damage to enter the puzzle solution when ready. We will be back here in a minute but continue on the path to the East.

You will swim into a room with dark red coral and a little stone compartment on the wall to your right. On the lip of the stone compartment is a journal. Read it, and you will have uncovered the third secret of the Shrine. The name of this journal is ‘3. The Warrior and the Sea Queen’.
From the journal, turn around and head back to the puzzle solution Siren Statue with the conch in its hand.
From this statue, face South and enter a large chamber.

A giant throne statue will be in the middle of this chamber. Swim behind it to the right, and you will see a crack in the wall surrounded by glowing red coral.

Swim through the crack, past the glowing green coral, and up the stairs into the room with air. You will find the Coral Siren Statue here. Damage it until it is in the “Middle” position.

Step 7: Locate Chain Siren Statue
Swim out from the room with the Coral Siren Statue and back into the large chamber room with the giant throne statue.
Next, you will want to walk up the staircase on either side of the chamber to find the Chain Siren Statue on the South East side of the room placed out of the water. Damage it until it is in the “Low” position.
Step 8: Raise the Water Level
Turn around and swim to the conch holding Siren Statue. Damage it to enter the puzzle solution.
If the three Siren Statue arm positions are correct, this will cause the water level to rise. You can then access the stairs high up to the East in the large sitting statue chamber.

Step 9: Solve Floor Plate Puzzle
Make your way up the stairs you just gained access to to find yourself at the top of the chamber. To the West, you will find a room with treasure. There is also a floor plate in this room you will want to take note of.
If you walk South, you will find a path to jump across the large throne statue to the other side. Along this path, you will find another floor plate just before jumping over the large throne statue.
Jump across the statue to find a journal sitting on a coral platform. Read it, and you will have uncovered the fourth secret of the Shrine. The name of this journal is ‘4. The Sea Queen’s Army’.
To the left of this journal is the third and final floor plate you need to be mindful of.
Keep platforming until you make it to the South side of the room, where you will find even more treasure and the Coral Plinth.
As pointed out, there are three floor plates on this upper level of the chamber you need to step on quickly. Having all three floor plates lowered at the same time will solve the next puzzle. You will find one to the East, one to the West, and one to the North.
Stepping on all three floor plates in quick succession will cause the giant sitting statue to move and reveal a secret room! Unfortunately, it will also cause Sirens to spawn that you’ll want to deal with before you explore in the newly opened area.

Step 10: Enter Secret Chamber
Swim down into the newly opened area and South towards the back with the large stone altar. You will find lots of treasure and the last journal here. Read the journal to uncover the final secret of the Shrine. The name of this journal is ‘5. Mermaid Gems’.

Where is the Breath of the Sea in the Shrine of Tribute?
You can find the Breath of the Sea in the Shrine of Tribute on the upper level of the Shrine. To reach the Coral Plinth where the Breath of the Sea sits, you’ll need to solve the Siren Statue Puzzle and raise the water level in the Shrine.
The Breath of the Sea will only be there if you are on an active Coral Message in a Bottle voyage that leads you to this Shrine.
