The Season 21 Community Weekend Event lands right in the middle of the spooky season, bringing its own trick-or-treat twist. To join the festivities, post naughty and nice Treasure Stash maps on the Quest Board to lure rival crews into a treat of treasure or a trick of death. Both contribute to Community Spirit Goals, with ghoulish rewards on the line. There is also Pop-Up Plunder to find, Community Emissary Grades to achieve, Picture Walls to pose in front of, and more!
Everyone can participate in the Season 21 Community Weekend, no matter how long you’ve been sailing the sea! So whether you are new to the Sea of Thieves or an old salt who’s been around since the beginning, you can celebrate the Event!
Season 21 Community Weekend
During the Event, you can claim login bonuses, contribute to Community Spirit Goals, complete an Event Goal, earn boosted rewards, partake in Pop-Up Plunder to find rare treasures, unlock Twitch Drops, and pose in front of Picture Walls!
The Season 21 Community Weekend Event takes place from 10 am UTC Friday, October 23rd, to 10 am UTC Monday, October 26th.
Login Bonuses
Starting with login bonuses, set sail anytime during the Season 21 Community Weekend to earn the Season 21 Community Weekend Flag. You can also claim a Voyage of Wild Luck each day you set sail.
Once unlocked, you can find the Flag in your Ship Customization Chest and the Voyage in your Quest Table.
Community Spirit Goals
You can contribute to two opposing Community Spirit Goals during the Community Weekend Event. You can contribute as much as you like to either Goal, but you should increase both Community Spirit Goals at least once to receive the reward once the community achieves them.
Trick Together
Prank other crews by posting treasure maps on the Quest Board to lead them to ruin – in the form of explosive barrels. If enough treasure hunters are blown up, all contributors earn the Trickster’s Prize Hat!
The first Community Spirit Goal will have you and your fellow pirates posting Treasure Stash maps that lead to Gunpowder Barrels! Once the community achieves the Goal, anyone who participated by posting at least one Treasure Stash map with a Gunpowder Barrel over the Community Weekend will unlock the Trickster’s Prize Hat!
To contribute, acquire a Gunpowder Barrel, bury it on any island, then interact with the Quest Board at any Outpost. Select your map with the Gunpowder Barrel under the My Maps section and post it.
Don’t worry if the community reaches the Goal before you can post a map. You’ll still get the hat if you post one before the Event ends.
Treat Together
Delight other crews by adding treasure maps to the Quest Board that are loaded with loot worth more than 10,000 gold! If the community reaches the shared Goal, all contributors earn the Treater’s Prize Hat.
The second Community Spirit Goal will have you and your fellow pirates posting Treasure Stash maps that lead to treasure worth at least 10,000 Gold! Once the community achieves the Goal, anyone who participated by posting at least one treasure-filled Treasure Stash map over the Community Weekend will unlock the Treater’s Prize Hat!
To contribute, acquire 10,000 Gold worth of treasure, bury it on any island, then interact with the Quest Board at any Outpost. Interacting with the Quest Board lets you post your Treasure Stash map. You can bury several pieces of treasure that add up to 10,000 Gold or just a single item worth that much.
Don’t include a Gunpowder Barrel with your buried treasures if you want to contribute to the Treat Together Community Spirit Goal. Any map with even one Gunpowder Barrel will count toward Trick Together instead of Treat Together. You can’t contribute to both Goals at the same time, only individually.
Don’t worry if the community reaches the Goal before you can post a map. You’ll still get the hat if you post one before the Event ends.
Reap the Rewards
Complete maps taken from the Quest Board during this Event to unlock the Pocket Pumpkin Emote for yourself! Will you get lucky with a valuable loot hoard, or uncover something more explosive?
You can also unlock the Pocket Pumpkin Emote by completing five Treasure Stash maps from the Quest Board. Instead of posting your Treasure Stash maps, interact with the Quest Board at any Outpost to take maps posted by other pirates and dig up every piece of treasure they lead to. As soon as you complete your fifth map, you will unlock the Emote.
Twitch Drops
As for Twitch Drops, you’ll want to tune into any participating Sea of Thieves stream on Twitch to unlock a variety of rewards, including Gold, Renown, the Stalwart Sea Dog Bucket, Gilded Phoenix Wheel, Gilded Phoenix Cannons, Gilded Phoenix Capstan, and the exclusive Bat Cutout Emote!
Make sure you have linked your Twitch and Sea of Thieves accounts first, otherwise the Drops you claim won’t reach your pirate.
Community Emissary Grade
Watching Sea of Thieves streams on Twitch will help raise the Community Emissary Grade. The Community Emissary Grade affects the multiplier used to boost the Gold, Reputation, Renown, Allegiance, and Guild Reputation you can earn in-game.
The more you and your fellow pirates watch Sea of Thieves streams, the higher the Community Emissary Grade will rise. Emissary Grade 5, the max Grade, applies a 2.5 multiplier on all rewards!
You can check the current Community Emissary Grade on the Events menu in-game.
Pop-Up Plunder
After setting sail, you’ll want to watch the Sea of Thieves social channels for clues on where to find Pop-Up Plunder!
Pop-Up Plunder is a piece of high-value treasure that you can dig up periodically throughout the Community Weekend. You can expect to dig up Ashen Chests of Legends, Chests of Fortune, Collector’s Chest of Broken Emissary Flags, and a Collector’s Chest of treasure for the various Trading Companies. You can even discover a Box of Wondrous Secrets!
Watch out for Pop-Up Blunder, too! Some maps have more than one X, with the real Pop-Up Plunder surrounded by decoy dig spots that hide an explosive trick!
Every time Pop-Up Plunder becomes available, you’ll receive an in-game toast and a Pop-Up Plunder Quest Note to notify you. The Pop-Up Plunder will only be discoverable for an hour after being announced. There is also only one Pop-Up Plunder per server, so you’ll want to try to get to it first!
You can find out where the latest Pop-Up Plunder is throughout the weekend here or by following the dedicated Pop-Up Plunder interactive map marker!
Picture Wall
The festively decorated Picture Walls return! Like previous Community Weekends, a celebratory Picture Wall will appear on every Outpost for you and your crew to pose and take pictures in front of. You will even find one at The Reaper’s Hideout.
You can also strike a pose at the Picture Walls in the Legendary Locations you sail to in Custom Seas, including Old Sailor Isle, the Damned Sea Dog Tavern, Tribute Peak, and Golden Sands Outpost!
Each Picture Wall also features a Community Emissary Flag that displays the current Community Emissary Grade.
Community Spirit Firework Crate
And finally, you can collect a Community Spirit Firework Crate, free of charge, from any Merchant Alliance representative. You only get one Crate per pirate, so make sure you grab yours when you have time to use it!
