The Trading Companies offer voyages of various lengths and difficulties. However, you never know how long or difficult the voyage will be until you’ve already purchased it.

For example, the Bounty Voyage you purchased from the Order of Souls could contain one quest to kill one Skeleton Captain or eight quests to kill dozens of Skeleton Captains. One voyage will have you at sea for 20 minutes, while the other could take hours to complete.

As a Captain, your crew expects you to plan the perfect adventure. And that’s where Captain’s Voyages come in to play!

What is a Captain's Voyage?

Captain’s Voyages allow Captains and their crew to curate their adventure by selecting the voyage type, length, and difficulty before setting sail.

Unlike the Trading Company voyages, Captains can use Captain’s Voyages to choose what they want to do and for how long.

Captain’s Voyages include an assortment of voyages provided by the Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls, Mercenaries, and Athena’s Fortune.

So if you only have a short amount of time to sail but still want to raise your Gold Hoarder reputation, you can purchase a quick X Marks the Spot Captain’s Voyage that will allow you to collect some decent loot for the Gold Hoarders in a short amount of time.

What are the types of Captain's Voyages?

Captain’s Voyages offer different combinations of difficulty and length for each Trading Company voyage type. Selecting a challenging voyage will provide you with more complex quests. While choosing a longer voyage will give you more quests to complete.

For example, if you choose a short and easy Gold Hoarder Captain’s Voyage, you will have a simple X Marks the Spot quest with just a few Xs to dig up. However, if you choose a long and challenging Gold Hoarders Captain’s Voyage, you will have eight quests to complete, including a Wayfinder Voyage to several Riddle Quests.

Choosing the difficulty and length of a voyage also means that you will always have access to lower-ranked voyages no matter your reputation level.

When purchasing the Captain’s Voyages, pay attention to the name, description, and cost.

If the voyage has the word ‘Commission’ in its name, it contains eight quests. If the voyage has the word ‘Prized’ in its name, it will lead you to more valuable loot. These voyages cost 800 to 1,500 gold.

If the voyage’s description mentions “reputation Level 25”, you can expect the voyage to be easier but have less valuable loot. Conversely, if the voyage’s description mentions “reputation Level 50”, you can expect the voyage to be harder and have more valuable loot.

Mercenary Voyages combine Gold Hoarder, Merchant Alliance, and Order of Souls quests into one giant voyage if you feel like tackling a little bit of everything.

Where do you buy Captain's Voyages?

You can purchase Captain’s Voyages from the Shipwright at any Outpost across the Sea of Thieves. When you find a Shipwright, speak with them and browse their supply and Captain’s Voyages shop.

You can then purchase any of the available Captain’s Voyages. The more difficult and longer the voyage is, the more expensive it will be.

How much do Captain's Voyages cost?

Shorter, easier voyages that provide less treasure cost 400 gold each, whereas longer, more difficult voyages that offer lots of loot cost 1500 gold each.

You can also purchase Captain’s Voyages in multiples of five, so you can stock up on voyages easily and quickly!

How do you save Captain's Voyages?

Unlike Trading Company voyages, you store your purchased Captain’s Voyages on your ship in the Captain’s Voyage Storage. The Captain’s Voyage Storage is the bookcase near the Captain’s Table.

You can save up to 50 of every type of Captain’s Voyage in the Captain’s Voyage Storage. These voyages can be used anytime and stay in storage until you discard them or vote on them.

The ability to save your voyages in the Captain’s Voyage Storage means you are no longer limited to the three slots that Trading Company voyages take up. You also don’t have to revisit Outposts to restock since you have direct access to the voyages!
