The first mystery in the Sea of Thieves is afoot as clues have been slowly trickling out over the past several days. Pirates across the sea have been working together to solve the case, and today, there was a big break!
Not only have more clues been discovered, but an exclusive mystery-related cosmetic you can earn: the Fallen Sea Dog Lantern!
How to get the Fallen Sea Dog Lantern
To get the Fallen Sea Dog Lantern, you will first want to sail to Sea Dog’s Rest in The Shores of Plenty. Once there, go to the North West beach. You’ll find a skeleton, a music box, and newly planted footprints on the sand.
Follow these footprints to the Northside of the island. They will stop near some Resource Barrels and rocks. Wedged in between the rocks is a note you can inspect. Inspect the note to receive a clue:
From shell of red into water deep, the truth shall come to light…
A red shell is now what you seek. Head to the Southeast side of the island, and you will find a red shell lying on the beach.
Standing on the red shell, face East by South East and head into the water. You want to dive below the surface and keep swimming East by South East. You will eventually come across a red glowing chest on the ocean floor. Interact with the chest, and you will unlock the Fall Sea Dog Lantern.
Head to your ship, equip your newly acquired lantern and shine its light around the island. You might just find something that will stop you dead in your tracks!
