Your ship’s Map Table is brimming with helpful information. However, you have to know what each marking, symbol, and icon means to take full advantage of it. The arrival of the Smugglers’ League introduced a new addition to the Map Table, a dashed gold line, signifying the perilous Smugglers’ Route!
Smugglers' Route
The Smugglers’ Route is a treacherous, high-visibility pathway between two Smuggler Hideouts in the Sea of Thieves. Unlike the Merchant Alliance Trade Routes, you can always see the Smugglers’ Route on your Map Table by looking for a dashed gold line between two large islands.
As the Smugglers’ Route Run Voyage will have crews delivering cargo on the Smugglers’ Route, there is a high chance that you’ll encounter pirates on the path delivering high-value cargo, making it a prime area for treasure hunting.
Skeletons also know about the route, so you are more likely to run into their Skeleton Ships between the two islands the route connects.
The Smugglers’ Route only changes once every Season, so you will quickly remember where the route runs.
