The lore within The Cursed Rogue sets the stage for the next four Tall Tales! We’re introduced to a new character in the Shores of Gold saga: Captain Briggsy.

In this Tall Tale, you will be hunting Briggsy down. So, perhaps you might want to read the tale of another pirate who once sought to slay Captain Briggsy.

Of course, you’ll need the locations to unlock the journal’s commendation. As for the text, we’ve included that in the event you might want to reference it in the future.

Seeing as your more pressing concern is likely the locations, that is where we shall begin.

Where are the Cursed Rogue Tall Tale Journals?

So, be sure to visit Madame Olivia at Plunder Outpost. Enter her tent and you’ll see the Cursed Rogue Tall Tale book to her left. Vote on the Tall Tale and you’ll be on your way.

The Location for Cursed Rogue Journal #1

This journal is found on Shark Bait Cove. Seemingly made up of several broken rings, this island can be tricky to navigate.

Luckily, this journal’s location isn’t too tricky. Head to the outer “ring” on the Southeast side of the island. This ring has an inner and outer beach. Head to its inner beach.

Walking along that inner beach, you will stumble upon a broken rowboat. Look inside to find your first Cursed Rogue journal.

The Location for Cursed Rogue Journal #2

This journal is located on Discovery Ridge. Head to the island’s North East beach.

On that beach, you’ll see yet another busted up rowboat in the sand. Walk closer and you’ll see a skeleton—the journal just out of its reach.

The Location for Cursed Rogue Journal #3

You’ll find this journal on Kraken’s Fall, and it’s almost smack dab in the center of the island.

Wandering around the island’s center, keep your eyes peeled for a skull pile against a wooden fence. You will find the journal just behind that skull pile.

The Location for Cursed Rogue Journal #4

This journal can be found on top of Wanderer’s Refuge.

If you’ve done a few Gold Hoarder riddles here, you’ve likely come across the “wanderer’s well.” Just North of that well is an old settlement: a collection of ruins where buildings once stood.

The book is jammed between some wood planks on the Southern most ruins within this settlement.

The Location for Cursed Rogue Journal #5

To Crooks Hollow! Head on into the island’s “hollowed out” center. You no doubt see the rock with the scarab painting. Facing that rock, turn to your left and you’ll see the entrance to a cave lit by glowing blue plant life.

Follow the path deeper into the cave until you come to a cavern. Within this cavern, you’ll see the Endless Lizard rock painting, barrels, a burnt-out campfire, and a skeleton sitting against the wall.

You’ll find the journal next to that skeleton.

Even better, you’ve been warned. You’ve heard Briggsy’s reputation on the Sea of Thieves, and you’ve seen what she can do to those foolish enough to hunt her.

Hopefully, you’ll be better prepared when you meet her yourself!

Note: if it does not appear unlocked the first time you check your Cursed Rogue commendations page, do not panic. Just nonchalantly act like you don’t care and exit the page. Then, eagerly try again.
