Some islands in the Sea of Thieves are enormous, making it difficult to travel across them, especially while holding treasure! Other smaller islands have varying heights, making it hard to ferry items from one end to the other.
Luckily, you can now use Ziplines to cross nine islands around the Sea of Thieves quickly! Whether you need to dash to the other side of the island to gain a vantage point on an enemy or carry a vast amount of treasure, you’ll want to take a Zipline to speed up the process.
Ziplines
Ziplines are thick ropes that pirates can use to quickly traverse from one location to another on islands in the Sea of Thieves. First introduced to the Sea of Thieves in The Legend of Monkey Island Tall Tales, Ziplines are now in Adventure.
To use a Zipline, walk up to the higher end of the rope and interact with it by pressing X or F. When interacting with the Zipline, you attach yourself to the rope and slide down to the other end. You can only traverse down Zipelines; you cannot go up them.
You can detach yourself from a Zipline at any point by jumping with A or Space. Don’t worry if you don’t let go yourself! You will automatically detach from the Zipline when you reach the end.
You can take treasure and other items you can pick up down the Zipline. However, you cannot wield any weapons and attack with them. Multiple pirates can be on the same Zipline at once!
