As that last Cannonball, piece of Fruit, or Wooden Plank can make all the difference in a Faction Battle, it’s important to collect as many Resources as you can before sailing off to fight.
However, scouring Outposts and islands for Resources after each skirmish can take some time. Luckily, crews partaking in Faction Battles now receive a Faction Storage Crate filled with essential battle supplies, allowing them to get back into the fight with sufficient resources faster than ever.
Faction Storage Crates
Upon starting a Faction Battle, you may receive a Faction Storage Crate next to your ship’s main mast. However, the Resources inside the crate, and whether you even get a crate at all, depend on the Resources you already have aboard your ship.
Resources inside Resource Barrels, Resource Crates, loaded Cannons, and each crew member’s Inventory are all taken into account when calculating the Resources you’ll receive in the Faction Storage Crate.
Each type of Resource has a threshold, and if you have more than the threshold, the crate won’t contain that Resource. So, if you’re running low on a Resource and have less than the threshold, it will appear in the Faction Storage Crate filled to its full amount. However, if you already have enough of a particular Resource, it won’t be included in the crate. If you exceed the thresholds for all types of Resources, you won’t receive a crate.
You’ll see a notification when you receive a Faction Storage Crate on your ship. If you are sailing for the Guardians of Fortune, you will get a Guardians of Fortune Crate, and if you are sailing for the Servants of the Flame, you will get a Servants of the Flame Crate.
The Resources the Faction Storage Crate can include for each ship type are:
- Cannonballs – Sloops: 248, Brigantines: 495, Galleons: 693
- Chainshots – Sloops: 6, Brigantines: 6, Galleons: 9
- Scattershots – Sloops: 6, Brigantines: 9, Galleons: 9
- Firebombs – Sloops: 4, Brigantines: 6, Galleons: 6
- Blunderbombs – Sloops: 4, Brigantines: 6, Galleons: 6
- Wood – Sloops: 70, Brigantines: 99, Galleons: 129
- Pomegranates – Sloops: 20, Brigantines: 30, Galleons: 40
- Mangoes – Sloops: 16, Brigantines: 24, Galleons: 32
- Pineapples – Sloops: 4, Brigantines: 6, Galleons: 8

The thresholds for each type of Resource is the same for all ship types. The thresholds are:

- Blunderbombs: 20

Where can you find the Faction Storage Crate?
If you receive a Faction Storage Crate, you can find it by your ship’s main mast with the bell for every ship type. You can sell Faction Storage Crates for 250 Gold, similar to Storage Crates.
