You never know who is waiting for you around the corner when sailing the Sea of Thieves! However, during the Big Ship, Little Ship Event, you can expect your adventures to be a little more predictable and plan accordingly!
What is the Big Ship, Little Ship Event?
During Big Ship, Little Ship, any crew setting sail on a Sloop will only sail the sea with other Sloops, while Brigantine and Galleon crews only sail the sea with other Brigantines and Galleons. So, small ships will sail together without big ships, and big ships will sail together without small ships.
Big Ship, Little Ship doesn’t take crew size into account. So, solo and duo Sloop crews will sail together. Don’t expect to sail exclusively with other solo Sloops if you are sailing all by yourself. You can match with duo Sloop crews.
It’s important to know that during the Event, you won’t be able to fight larger ships as a Sloop after becoming a Champion through Hourglass Faction Battles. You’ll have to stick to dominating other Sloops.
So, as a Sloop, will you take on riskier Voyages or World Events without bigger ships around? Will you be more likely to work together with your fellow small or big ships? Or will you feel more empowered to take on other ships knowing they’ll be of similar size and firepower?
There are no rewards to earn or boosts to take advantage of during this Event, so you can set your own goals at sea, knowing what kind of ships you’ll encounter during your adventures.
Big Ship, Little Ship will run from August 20th to August 24th. After the Event is over, the sea will return to the usual mix of ship sizes.
