Ashen Messages in a Bottles

Ashen Messages in Bottles are red bottles that can appear randomly on any island in The Devil’s Roar while sailing the High Seas. You cannot find the bottles in Safer Seas.

The Ashen Messages in Bottles glint bright red from a distance, making them easy to spot as you sail by islands or explore shorelines. Any pirate with any experience can collect one.

Ashen Message in a Bottle

Each Ashen Message in a Bottle contains an “X Marks the Spot” Quest. However, unlike regular Messages in Bottles, the Ashen Message in a Bottle “X Marks the Spot” Quest will always lead you to high-value treasures in The Devil’s Roar!

You can expect to find treasure for all Trading Companies, including:

  • Collector’s Chest filled with Ashen Trinkets
  • Ashen Marauder’s Chest
  • Ashen Captain’s Chest
  • Ashen King’s Chest
  • Chest of Rage
  • Chest of a Thousand Grogs
  • Chest of Sorrow
  • Firebomb Crate
  • Crate of Fine Ore
  • Crate of Precious Gemstones
  • Crate of Extraordinary Minerals
  • Ashen Hateful Bounty Skull
  • Ashen Villainous Bounty Skull
  • Ashen Winds Skull
  • Scroll of Undiscovered Waters
  • All-Seeing Eye of Souls
  • Glittering Hoarder’s Reliquary
  • Chest of Legends
  • Ashen Chest of Legends
  • Box of Wondrous Secrets

If you are sailing as an Emissary, you will earn a large amount of Emissary Level each time you pick up an Ashen Message in a Bottle. Picking up just four will allow you to reach Emissary Grade 5.

While the Ashen Messages in Bottles are active in The Devil’s Roar, you can still find regular Messages in Bottles as usual in the other regions.
