There are three journals to examine during The Herald of the Flame Adventure! Each journal is stashed away on a different island in The Devil’s Roar. You’ll need to activate and play through the Adventure to find all three.
Below are the locations for all three journals hidden throughout the Adventure. Reading all three will complete the Deed: Examine Stitcher Jim’s Journals. Make sure that you are the one to read the journal to receive credit for the Deed.
Journal #1
You can find the first journal in the Sun Vault on Ashen Reaches.
To read it, you’ll want to start Chapter Two of The Herald of the Flame Adventure. During the Chapter, you will meet up with Pendragon, who will help you hunt down Stitcher Jim.
You will eventually follow Stitcher Jim’s trail to Ashen Reaches. On Ashen Reaches, you will dig up a Sun Vault Totem Key and use it to open up the Sun Vault on the island.
You will find the journal lying on the ground near the altar in the middle of the vault.
Journal #2
You can find the second journal in the Flameheart’s tomb on Flintlock Penisula.
The note you find in the vault on Ashen Reaches will lead you to Flintlock Peninsula. Follow the visions of Stitcher Jim until Pendragon opens Flamheart’s tomb for you to enter.
You will find the journal lying by a pile of skulls at the back of the tomb.

Journal #3
You can find the third journal in the vault on Molten Sands Fortress.
To read it, you’ll want to start Chapter Three of The Herald of the Flame Adventure. You will be sent to Molten Sands Fortress to take on the Herald of the Flame.
You’ll need to defeat the Herald of the Flame to access the vault and read the journal. As soon as you do, the firey barrier blocking the entrance to the vault will disappear, allowing you to enter.
You will find the journal lying on the ground on the South by South West side of the vault, near the hanging cage.
