Many annual holidays take place in the Sea of Thieves. There’s the Festival of the Damned, the Festival of Giving, and of course, Grogmanay.
While each holiday is unique in its own way, Grogmanay is receiving something extra special starting this year: the Grogmanay Annual Tankard!
So what’s so special about this tankard? Its appearance will change each year you participate in the New Year tradition. The tankard will gain an additional notch on it for every Grogmanay you celebrate. The name of the tankard will change as well.
You might have already noticed the Grogmanay 1st Annual Tankard in your inventory!
How to Upgrade Your Tankard
Each year during Grogmanay, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your Tankard, which will change its appearance. For each Grogmany you participate in, you will add a notch on the side of your Tankard.
Participate in one Grogmany event, and you will earn the Grogmanay 1st Annual Tankard with one notch. Participate in two Grogmanay events, and your Tankard will upgrade to the Grogmanay 2nd Annual Tankard with two notches.
With the notches visible on the side of your Tankard, you can show off how many Grogmanay’s you’ve celebrated.
Everyone who played during Grogmanay last year will automatically receive the Grogmanay 1st Annual Tankard with one notch before the event starts. So, if you played last year and have your Tankard, you have the opportunity to earn yourself another notch. To do so, you’ll need to complete four Grogmanay Challenges.
Those who weren’t around last year for Grogmanay can work towards their Grogmanay Annual Tankard that will have one notch.
Grogmanay 1st Annual Tankard
You will have the Grogmanay 1st Annual Tankard in your Equipment Chest if you set sail between 30th Dec 2020 and 20th Jan 2021. It could take a few days to appear, so don’t worry just yet if you believe you should have one.
