How to solve Puzzle 4: The Crowning Glory

updated as needed

Want to keep a weather eye out?

Jot down yer email, and we’ll be sure to let ye know when there’s something new on the horizon.

Stage 4 of The Hoarder’s Hunt Mystery is live, and the fourth Puzzle is now available for all pirates to solve! Before starting, confirm you’ve submitted the codes and completed the Voyage for Stages 1, 2, and 3. Once you’ve done the Puzzle and Voyage for the first three Stages, you can begin working on Stage 4: The Crowning Glory.

Solving the online Puzzle for Stage 4 will allow you to claim an in-game Voyage from Larinna at any Outpost and work on the final part of the Mystery.

Puzzle 4: The Crowning Glory

The Letter

As with the previous three Stages, Stage 4 of the Mystery begins with a Puzzle for you to solve, and each Puzzle starts with a letter delivered to the Gold Hoarders. The Gold Hoarders have opened the letter for the final Puzzle, which reads:

You have dared to meddle in what WAS my exclusive test.
So, get ready for the painful proof of why I am obsessed.
Join me on a JOURNEY of such dread that it will chill your heart.
You’ll wish you’d never taken that Hoarders Voyage for a start…

Across the entire Sea of Thieves – on land and sea and sky,
I’ll lead you on a chase and your expectations I’ll defy.
You’ve got a chest and opened it and found another chest.
But this is it, I’ve saved for last what’s ultimately best.

The Crowning Glory Letter

With the clues given inside the letter, you can now scour the internet for the answers. You are ultimately looking for a code to submit on the official Sea of Thieves website. Entering the correct code will unlock the in-game Voyage and allow you to work on the final part of the Mystery.

The first clues you’ll be scouring the internet for are on Twitter!

Find me...

Minutes after Stage 4 started, the official Sea of Thieves Twitter account posted several tweets about the Mystery. However, two in particular contained clues worth analyzing!

The first was just an image of a unique chest never seen before.

The second tweet was another image with the a piece of parchment containing the words “Find me…”, four triangles pointing in different directions, and some Pigpen symbols. Decoding the Pigpen symbols as is will reveal the letters, “GMQHRDKK.”

Not only did the official Sea of Thieves Twitter account post several tweets as soon as the Mystery started, but so did four other accounts owned by H. These accounts should look familiar to those who completed Puzzle 3, as they belong to @skullcannonball, @frost_locker, @WashedRobot, and @rockeddiet.

The post by @skullcannonball contained the following image with a riddle and one triangle pointing up.

The post by @frost_locker contained two images. One of the images includes constellations from the Sea of Thieves on a parchment with the directions N, W, E, and S. However, H has swapped West and East with each other.

The other image contains directions left by H. Again, note the one triangle pointing down.

The post by @WashedRobot contained two images. One image has a riddle, and the other looks like a Word Search puzzle. The image with the riddle has one triangle on it pointing left.

And the post by @rockeddiet contains another parchment with a cryptic story and one triangle pointing right.

The Map

Not only did the four Twitter accounts owned by H with the parrot word names tweet relevant images to the Mystery, but each updated their Twitter bio to a new link on the youareapiratepuppet.com website. Each account’s bio linked to a different square belonging to the map of Sea of Thieves!

@skullcannonball’s bio linked to youareapiratepuppet.com/square1, @rockeddiet’s bio linked to youareapiratepuppet.com/square2, @frost_locker’s bio linked to youareapiratepuppet.com/square3, and WashedRobot’s bio linked to youareapiratepuppet.com/foursquare.

As you’ll notice, the squares need to be rotated to correctly place the islands and form the map.

AllSquares

While the thick red shapes over the map might seem useless at first, you can actually use them to line up the map on top of the original image of the chest! The thick red shapes are also in the image of the chest painted in white.

Chest with map overlay

Four Sqaures

Now that you have the different puzzles given by the various Twitter accounts, it’s time to solve them.

One crucial tool to solve all of the puzzles is the Four-square cipher. As hinted at by the four links leading to the four different squares of the map, you will use the Four-square cipher to decode several words throughout each puzzle. You can use this website here for decoding.

  • Expose a shuffled endless stack and send it out to sea, but heed my words and you may find a most important key = OUTCAST
  • A page, a coin, but never a die, can’t trust this key not to tell you a lie = TWOFACED
  • Rugged, twisted, bitter and mean, through red haze and scowl will this key be seen = GRUDGE

However, you must calibrate the cipher to decode any inputs correctly. What are the codes for calibration? As the four Twitter accounts hinted, they are the previous answers to the first three puzzles!

  • Grid 1 alphabet = OUTCASBDEFGHIKLMNPQRVWXYZ
  • Grid 2 alphabet = TWOFACEDBGHIKLMNPQRSUVXYZ
  • Grid 3 alphabet =  GRUDEABCFHIKLMNOPQSTVWXYZ

You will leave the fourth grid as the default value, ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ, as we have yet to solve the puzzle and don’t have the fourth answer.

The Cardinal Direction Puzzle

For the puzzle posted by @skullcannonball, you will want to focus on each sentence with directions. For example, the first sentence mentions “From North to East.”

Using the directions in each sentence, you will turn them into a Pigpen symbol. To translate them, visualize or draw the lines you would make if following these directions. So, for “From North to East,” You would draw a line up and then to the right.

One crucial piece is to include a dot with the Pigpen symbol if the directions end in a period.

Directions riddle

Decoding the Pigpen symbols will give you the letters RINRQEKW. Plugging those letters into the Four-square Cipher decoder will give you the word MONARCHX.

The Logic Puzzle

The puzzle posted by @rockeddiet is a logic puzzle. However, before you can begin, you must first decode all the scrambled words using the Four-square cipher. So, insert each scrambled word into the cipher, translate it, and replace it in the story.

Logic puzzle

Once you have decoded the names of all the items, locations, and people, you can start solving the logic puzzle. To solve the puzzle, you’ll need to deduce which one of the Gold Hoarders arrived first, what they hid, and where they hid it.

Inserting all the who, what, and where values decoded from the parchment into a logic puzzle grid is one way to find who made it home first and where they hid their loot.

Plugging in the values and deciphering the puzzle leads us to believe that Horace was first, and they hid their loot in the Eagle Vault. Horace and Eagle Vault is our best guess after reading the puzzle multiple times and trying to deduce the correct answer.

While we are still determining how to use the result from the logic puzzle, you should now have another word in your arsenal, in this case, HORACEEAGLE.

Logic puzzle grid

The Star Chart Puzzle

For the puzzle posted by @frost_locker, you’ll first need to decode all the scrambled letters from the parchment with directions. So, plug each scrambled word into the Four-square cipher, translate them, and you’ll be ready to follow the directions on the Star Chart.

Constellation Riddle

With the directions translated, it’s time to follow them on the Star Chart! Each Roman Numeral is an hour from one to twenty-four, and each ring is 15 degrees apart, starting with the outer ring at 0 degrees and the innermost ring at 90 degrees.

You’ll start at the heart of the Warrior and head North to where the head and tail of the Fish meet. From there, you’ll go to the Crab’s claw and then the Arrow’s point. Then, follow the Arrow’s shaft to the Feather. After that, you’ll go North again from the Feather to the Flame and then the Turtle’s head. Now, follow along to the Fish’s head, down to the Krakens’ outstretched arm, and then down to the Snake.

Constellation map charted

So, if you follow the directions through the constellation map correctly, the animal that will meet you is the SNAKES.

The Word Search Puzzle

To solve the Word Search puzzle tweeted by @WashedRobot, you’ll first want to briefly look for any words you can create in the Word Search. You’ll notice that the letter X looks slightly different as you scan the Word Search. Forming Pigpen symbols around them will help you find words.

Next, read over the riddle and summarize each line into a single word. The single word will be a word you can create a Pigpen symbol with on the Word Search.

In order of the sentences in the riddle, the words you will form are:

  • LOSER
  • TRAPPED
  • REVENGE
  • MEDDLER
  • TRAITORS
  • ANGER
  • VEXED
  • CURSE
  • FURIOUS
  • TORTUE

Decoding the Pigpen symbols will give you the letters THWODDLNFR. Plugging those letters into the Four-square Cipher decoder will give you the word AFORECLOUD.

H Sees All

We still need to use original Pigpen symbols that currently translate to GMQHRDKK. Looking at the Pigpen symbols again, you’ll notice that none use diagonal lines and only use the first part of the alphabet.

With that in mind, you can combine the results you’ve found so far from the Puzzles and create your own Pigpen cipher. Then, using the words MONARCH, EAGLE, and SNAKES, fill out the two horizontal and vertical grids. Again, since we don’t need the diagonal grids filled out, you only have to use some of the words you discovered.

Puzzle generated Pigpen

You can now translate the original Pigpen symbols from the first tweet using your new Pigpen cipher.

Pigpen symbols

You should get the result HSEESALL. Next, head to Twitter and start typing your new word in the search bar. You should find the Twitter account @HSeesAll. This account has one post containing a familiar-looking parchment with a new riddle to solve! Along with the image the post contains the words:

We swore to never take his gold
He claimed my vow was lies!

And I’d account for EVERY coin

You too… to claim my prize!

HSeesAll tweet

Something interesting to note is that each line starts with a Cardinal Direction: N, S, E, and W. Also, piles of coins surround the words on the parchment, which the @HSeesAll account mentions explicitly.

Making things clear

On June 9th, @HSeesAll made a second tweet. This post was a Quote Tweet that contained the four other H accounts, @WashedRobot, @skullcannonball, @frost_locker, and @rockeddiet, another parchment with another riddle, and the original tweet from the official Sea of Thieves account with the image of the constellation chest.

The riddle on the parchment talks about distractions and reiterates everything we need to solve the puzzle you can find here, referring to the image of the chest and the clues from the four Twitter accounts.

So, it’s time to focus on the chest, the map, and the puzzles from the Twitter accounts, notably the Word Search, as hinted earlier in the week.

Since HSeesAll didn’t mention them, we know not to worry about @AForeCloud, @Misfits_Chicken, @HORACEEAGLE, or any other Twitter accounts not referenced in their tweet.

Perhaps discovering the entire solution to the Word Search will help us solve the riddle from the @HSeesAll account involving the coins.

HSeesAll second tweet

Another hint from The Master

On June 13th, @HSeesAll made a third tweet. This post only contained a parchment with another riddle on it. The parchment reiterates that we need to find a word in the Word Search to continue solving the puzzle. It also states that we need to find the connection between the symbols, map, and everything on the note ‘H’ wrote the riddle on.

The note has the same coins as the original Coin puzzle posted on June 1st. So that means we still need to find out what to do with them. Count them? Group them? Label them?

HSeesAll third tweet

Link to tweet

However, one of the most exciting pieces of information from the second version of this parchment is that each line starts with the same letter, even though the sentences are different! The letters that begin each line of text are Cardinal Directions: NWNESESENWNENE.

Not only does each line start with the same letter in both versions, but they also have the same number of words!

  • First sentence = eight words
  • Second sentence = six words
  • Third sentence = six words
  • Fourth sentence = eight words
  • Fifth sentence = nine words
  • Sixth sentence = four words
  • Seventh sentence = six words
  • Eight sentence = four words
  • Ninth sentence = five words
  • Tenth sentence = two words
  • Eleventh sentence = seven words
  • Twelfth sentence = three words
  • Thirteenth sentence = six words
  • Fourteenth sentence = three words

Putting the Cardinal Directions with the number of words then gives you:

  • N8
  • W6
  • N6
  • E8
  • S9
  • E4
  • S6
  • E4
  • N5
  • W2
  • N7
  • E3
  • N6
  • E3

Coins to Map

You can now chart a course through the Sea of Thieves with the directions you created from the Coin puzzle. Each number is the length of a square to move, and the Cardinal Directions will move your up, down, left, or right. While we still need to determine if the starting point is Booty Isle, Plunder Outpost, or Lookout Point, you will always end near Tribute Peak!

AllSquares coin count

More hints from The Master

On June 16th, @HSeesAll made a fourth tweet. This time, the post contained a video. While the visuals in the video don’t appear to have any hints, the audio does! Throughout the clip, ‘H’ talks and says groups of numbers. The numbers he speaks are as follows:

4, 10, 3, 1
6, 2, 10, 8
4, 2, 7, 10, 11
2, 9, 6, 10, 11, 7

These numbers will look familiar to those who have been counting every coin. These groupings are the number of coins piled along the sides of the parchment from @HSeesAll original tweet.

It’s important to note that the numbers are read clockwise around the parchment and grouped by which side of the parchment they are on.

Numbers to Letters

Using the word “TRIBUTEPEAK” (the island you discovered by plotting the Coin puzzle on the map) as your alphabet, you can user a Number to Letter cipher to decode the groupings of numbers from the coin parchment.

So, for example, “4 10 3 1” will turn into the word BAIT. That is because the fourth letter in “TRIBUTEPEAK” is B, the 10th is A, the third is I, and the first is T.

  • 4, 10, 3, 1 = BAIT
  • 6, 2, 10, 8 = TRAP
  • 4, 2, 7, 10, 11 = BREAK
  • 2, 9, 6, 10, 11, 7 = RETAKE

What is the code to the puzzle?

The code to the puzzle is: BAIT TRAP BREAK RETAKE. Make sure to include the spaces!

What's next?

With the Puzzle solved, it’s time to take on the voyage! We’ll be updating our voyage guide here as we work on completing it. Good luck, pirates!

  1. Matbe the map pieces aren’t meant to be in their proper place, the clue with directions says “Hoarder’s Peak” closest thing I can think of is Tribute Peak as there was a hoarder there was there not? The directions would lead you off the map regardless of whether you flipped East and West like the star chart implies. Perhaps by putting the map pieces in a different order we can follow the directions to another island for another clue….

  2. Richard Wallberg

The Coins on the second image have dots next to them which rotate along with wherever the coin is pointing.

  3. Do you know that by using the names of twitter accounts in the bitly link will put you into some ondrive folders named puzzle1 (bit.ly/sotskullcannonbal) etc.

  4. CptBrownBeard12

I think that words from the crosswords fits into the phrases of the poster with it. Like “a prying snoop who sounds like a winner” might be “cheat”

  5. The crossword isn’t a crossword it says

“Beware the acid rages scour ventan x
Employ a fury engage gloater spur greeds downfall basest jealousy find ten thoughts of above all themed in disgust time make dead cheats ousted relic soul trai x
Posters of the deep ruffians mostly adep loss ur rickety ship have you lasted out or sensed toxic seasi x s
Ye heart serving part thou ready taxed gold for they are hexapods and rottenly vicious”

  6. The image with the chest has three of the L shapes same as the map. Maybe the map can be lined up on top of it somehow

  7. AHOI, Ma Hunters! Is it possible that the triangles from the SOT side show us the right order of the puzzles?

  8. It is not THWODDLNFR. The 10 clues on the left are given in a very specific order. There’s no rhyme structure, no discernable reason for the order being what they are. Therefore, we have to assume their order is indicative of the order of the letters: LDHDNWRTOF.

  9. Captain Crimson

I found Herbert to be the first one to arrive and go to the eagle vault with the marauders chests
    Could be wrong though

I also have no idea how to use this information at the moment

    1. Herbert can’t have been first though, right? The second clue says whoever arrived first, Herbert, and the Boar Vault were all different people

    2. I got Horace with the eagle vault, but Herbert would also work. Feel like the clues may be a bit too open for a single solution, unless the second to last means they arrived in succession (i.e. Harry being the next right after the one with the Marauders chests)

  10. I feel like I’m missing something on the logic puzzle. Been putting things into the grid, and aside from the things it outright says in the clues there’s nothing definitive. I have Hugh or Horace first, and a couple things/places they don’t have, but that’s about it. What I can’t figure is why a couple clues are “he was here but not here”–wouldn’t the clue that the last traitor was at Boar already preclude him from being at Scarab? Why the repetition?

    1. Maybe to give a full list of the names, places and loot. But I agree that it’s not definitive such that I can fill the grid by only combining the clues. I ended up using one of the options in the last clue as a start and building the grid from this. Basically, I put Harry in 4th and built around that.
Trying to falsify the solution I got right now (i.e. see if I can get a different combination that works). So far, I have had no success.

      1. Yeah, turns out there’s only one real solution, unclear loot in the 4th and 5th place notwithstanding.

Here’s how to building the result of the logic puzzle from the clues: Each place (1st through 6th) has a person, a loot item, and a vault.

The vault for 6th is the boar vault (clue 1)

The person for 4th has to be Harry. (clue 12, see end of this post for the reasoning why)

Due to this, Henry and Humphrey are 2nd and 3rd (clue 6, order unclear so far). Since neither visited the snake vault (clue 6), that has to be in 4th place, and the loot for 2nd is the opulent curios (clue 7)

Back to clue 12, the adorned receptacles have to be in the moon vault. The only free slots for this combination are 1st and 3rd. 5th would also be free, but it’s ruled out with clue 4. Clue 10 means that since the receptacles aren’t in the eagle vault, Humphrey hid them. Combine with clue 6 and all of this goes into 3rd place – Humphrey, the receptacles and the moon vault.

Staying with clue 10, the marauders chest must be stored in the eagle vault. That can now only go into 1st. 5th is still open but ruled out with clue 11.

        Now who came back first?
We started with Harry in 4th
Since we just put Humphrey in 3rd, Henry must have been 2nd (clue 6)
Herbert didn’t arrive 1st and he didn’t visit the boar vault (clue 2) so he must have been 5th
Hugh hid the Captains chest (clue 9), so he can’t have been the 1st, because that one hid the Marauders chests. Instead, he was 6th

That only leaves HORACE who stored the MARAUDERS CHESTS in the EAGLE VAULT and came back FIRST.
(Though from the letter I guess we only need Horace and the Eagle Vault for ‘who’ and ‘where’)

The rest of the table for the completionists:

The only vaults left are scarab and shark. Herbert didn’t visit the shark vault (clue 3), so that goes into 2nd and scarab goes into 5th
The only loot items left are the Chest of Ancient Tributes and the Peculiar Relics. Those can go into the open spots of 4th and 5th in any order.

Reasoning for Harry in 4th place:

Not putting him there would mean that the moon vault needs to be in 4th (clue 12), and that would mean that Harry hid the receptacles (clue 12) and did so in the eagle vault (clue 10).
Since the hider of the receptacles didn’t arrive 5th (clue 8), the vaults for 4th and 6th are already taken (moon and boar), and somebody must have arrived before Harry (clue 11), he could only arrive 2nd or 3rd. 2nd is out, because clue 7 says that’s snake vault or curios, so he’d be in 3rd.
The problem is that in this case Humphrey would have to be the one to hide the marauders chest (clue 10) and arrive 1st or 2nd, before Harry (clue 11). However, he can’t be 1st because of clue 6 and can’t be 2nd because that would be snake vault (clue 7) and that’s also ruled out with clue 6.

        (edited formatting)

          1. The two clues mentioning Herbert are Number 2 and Number 3.
Clue 2: “The pirate who arrived first, Herbert, and the one who visited the Boar Vault are all different people” – means Herbert was not first, nor did he visit the Boar Vault. (And since the Boar Vault is in 6th place, he can’t have been 6th either)
Clue 3: “The backstabber who visited the Shark Vault isn’t Herbert” – that’s only useful for completions sake, since the placement of the Shark Vault is only relevant in the end.

    2. I’ve gotten 1-Hoance-eagle-adornedrecepticals

    Shark- second, Henry, relic

I’m about to try to combine the letters from before and decode them again

  19. i might be trippin but all 4 of h’s twitter accounts have their bios updated with cryptic messages.
    they are as follows:

@washedrobot= delivers you letters essential to read, this final control is the last that you’ll need.

@rockeddiet= A page, a coin, but never a die, can’t trust this key not to tell you a lie.

when I saw aforecloud maybe afore can be turned into a number 4 spelling A4cloud to turn into coordinate’s on the map to lead to the nearest place sailor’s bounty

  21. all the outposts on the map have an anchor under them and all the sea forts have an x under them

    1. The coordinates of the islands with the most lines going to them (outposts) are F7, D10, J (or K) 18, M (or N) 7 (or 8), Q17, R8, W17.

  22. What if the solution involves the answer to each puzzle being associated with a direction and used in conjunction with the four square cipher. In other words, Grid 1 = North and requires the word MONARCHX since that’s the solution to the page with the cardinal indicator for North on it.

  23. Observation: We are using 4 square cipher. There are 4 triangles in the first image, with different orientations, 4 maps that needed rotation to be correct, to form a red H in the middle. 4 word code puzzles to solve. At Shores of Gold there are puzzle vaults with 4 columns that are rotated to solve them. Don’t know if this will become relevant?

The original image shows the star constellations, as in Sudds’ spyglass Tall Tale, but the images the ^ point to are NOT constellations, they are carvings of “The Ancients”, that appear on the puzzle columns in Shores of Gold, and around the Sea of Thieves. They are not the same as the Gold Vault images that appear on the Gold Vault puzzle columns, in Sea of Thieves.

To summarise we have 4 key words MONARCHX HORACE (Eagle/Marauder) SNAKE (direction?) AFORECLOUD (A4CLOUD) (more looking online?). I would guess there’s another layer to this? And these refer to land, sea an sky.

    1. Captain Crimson

      You got me thinking…
Horace sounds a lot like Horus, one the Egyptian gods. He is often portrayed with the head of a bird or more specifically I think it was a hawk what if in this case we it was an eagle. This would mean they are one and the same.
Another thing is you’re correct those images are found on the column puzzles which could mean that these words translate to those symbols and we need to use them to solve a column puzzle

      1. Captain Crimson

Further note what these words could mean would be the next question. My interpretation: monarch- sea queen, eagle/ Horace/Horus- bird symbol, snake- snake of course, aforecloud- I don’t know yet

      1. I think it may be a reference to Shores of Gold. Which starts as a tall tale in Devils Roar. Had a close look at ‘The Master’ in the new post. They have light hair and a scar over their left eye, it could be Hyde at Morrows Peak. I think all the other Gold Hoarders have an eye patch on their left eye.
So far we’ve had 4s cipher. But 6/hex has also been mentioned. There is a hex code that is a shortened version of binary. Which I think has numbers and letters. Maybe we need to count the coins to get a number, maybe the riddle will give us letters. Just a thought.
logically the only sea we haven’t been to yet is Devils Roar. ‘The devil and the answers lie in the detail’.

  24. BlazingFlamee

So.. I’ve been trying to figure out AFORECLOUD, (this may be a lead, may not) if you google it, as AFORECLOUD or A4CLOUD, both come up with organizations.. has anyone checked them out?

  25. Not sure if this is relevant but I noticed a few things I haven’t seen elsewhere:
1.The word hexapod and six pops up in the wordsearch and then monarch is one of the clues. these could reference a butterly

    1. on plunder valley there is eagle peak, a painted butterfly, a scarab (another hexapod) and an eagle hunter as well as a bird shrine. could these be helpful?
    1. Possible, how would this be used with the answers we have?

Could we use the starting location for each of the gold holders and the vaults they went to to find a pattern?
Or could it be that we have the map the wrong way and if we put it the right way the lines all point somewhere. Then that would be our answer for the logic puzzle.

  26. If you read the crossword puzzle from left to right, top to bottom, like a book, there is some sort of message hidden. It also might be more words to use. idk just something I noticed.

    1. Yes! It’s of Cannon Cove and it looks like there’s symbols or words along the one shore line. I pointed this out on the discord chat…they said it wasn’t anything. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  27. I am reaching… Monarchx and aforecloud

Monarch Cloud day this year was Jan 24th, same date as Sea of thieves closed beta, x = xbox wire, afore slang for before could reference those that joined insider before the beta meaning it could have something to do with insider?

  28. MinecraftCars77

Using AFORECLOUD you can make the words Coloured and Decolour. Probably could be like a colored spot or decolor the map.

  29. We’ve found something! Instead of Aforecloud we have found Hseesall. This then links to a twitter account with another letter within it. It’s on the sea of thieves discord

    1. You can make seashell with this. There was a seashell in the Demarco mystery and there is a seashell devil fish.

  30. GaudierPuppy866

It seems like HORACEEAGLE, SNAKE, and AFORECLOUD could be twitter accounts. I doubt it is a reference to an island in the Sea of Thieves, as these puzzles have not included in-game things so far.

  31. theres a twitter account call the master @hseesall which someone got from aforecloud, it has 1 tweet that has text and also an image

    heres the link https://twitter.com/HSeesAll/status/1664301025363148800

    here what the image says

Never though it would actually come to this.
Why won’t you listen to me?
Even though you are all lowly pirate scoundrels,
slothful Gold Hoarders refused to do this by themselves.
    Every time you keep
stubbornly coming back, again and again.
    Eventually, I WILL tire.
    Necessity will demand revenge, so
    WATCH OUT!
Needless to say, you will suffer greatly.
    Every fiendish puzzle,
niggling away at your tiny mind eventually
    Destroying you.

    -H

    1. it wont let me edit any more but heres what the text from the tweet says,

We swore to never take his gold! He claimed my vow was lies! And I’d account fo EVERY coin You too … to claim my prize

      1. GreatBarrierQueef

“And i’d account for every coin” do we need to count all the visible coins in the clues we’ve been given?

  32. The @HSeesAll image seems to have something in the bottom right corner that looks like it might be a word. I also noticed that the only lines that do not start with a capital letter begin with ‘s,’ ‘s,’ and ‘n.’ This one is, I think, the first letter not to rhyme. IDK if any of this means anything; I am not smart enough for this.

    1. Not that there is any reasoning for this, but also the Capitalised letters of each line.. are NWNEE – E – NWNEE

      1. Which then also gets me chasing that same red fishy thing, thinking.. why (either capital or not) are they all compass bearings ?? i.e. NES or W ?? many other words out there..

  33. Sorry but for me in the LOGIC PUZZLE the answer supposed to be HERBERT SNAKE
The third line says “the betrayer who arrived first, HERBERT
    and the 8th line says
“the six turncoats are the one who visited snake, THE ONE WHO ARRIVED FIRST” (HERBERT)
the rest of line just lists the other of the TURNCOATS

thats why for me this is the correct answer

    1. Amir Abdollahi

Think of “the betrayer who arrived first” as a person. That line, “The betrayer who arrived first, Herbert,
and the one who visited the Boar Vault are all different people.” is talking about three different people. The betrayer who arrived first, Herbert, and the one who visited the Boar Vault.

  34. GaudierPuppy866

Monarch, Horace, and Eagle make up 18 letters, which is the number of spaces that make up the two grids.

  35. GaudierPuppy866

Interesting fact about the puzzle from the HSeesAll account: There are 4 groups of coins with one shaded coin, four groups of coins with two shaded coins, six groups of coins with three shaded coins, and four groups of coins with four shaded coins.

  36. Three paces East Seaport is in the wrong coordinate on the map they posted. It is in S-9 on the map here, but in game is actually in s-10. I don’t know the significance of this or even if it is. But it is the only thing on the map out of place as far as I can tell.

  37. Slothful, stubbornly, niggling have 26 letters. Perhaps another pigpen made with those letters to decode the word search. We still have yet to use AFORECLOUD, so perhaps that puzzle is yet to be correctly solved?

  38. GaudierPuppy866

What if we are to use the words in a particular order? If you look at the find me tweet, you will se the markers for the four puzzles listed from left to right. What if using the words from those puzzles in that order is the key to solving the HSeesAll puzzle?

      1. GaudierPuppy866

The fist tweet shows a triangle pointing up, a triangle pointing right, a triangle pointing down, and a triangle pointing left.

  39. GaudierPuppy866

One the HSeesAll account, what if the hint to account for EVERY coin refers to the phrases that contain every? It seems strange that every is the only word in all caps on the hint.

  40. Dwayne Elizando Herbert Camacho

    Both @horaceeagle and @aforecloud are twitter @s from H
One is a riddle with xs and some other words and the other is some ship

      1. TheActingMan98

It is there. The bio reads, “TraVexFurAngTraTra With your hair, all brown and drab, you’re not a snitch, you’ll never tell. OX XO XO XO XO XX XX OO XO OX XX OX XO OO XX OO XO XO” The Twitter profile also retweeted the Tweet from the Official Sea of Thieves Twitter of the Chest of Boundless Sorrow and where players will leave it. The Twitter handle is: @AForeCloud

        1. TheActingMan98

I’m fairly certain that the first part of the bio are all the first 3 letters of words found in the crossword, so Trapped, Vexed, Furious, Anger, Trapped, Trapped. I’m just not sure what to do with this. I looked into a Triliteral Cipher, but I am not well-versed in ciphers myself, so I’m not sure what to do with this. As for the XO’s this is obviously a cipher, but again I have no clue what. I think it might be a Vigenere or a Caesar Cipher but you need to decode the first part to get the keyword. Again, I am not well-versed in ciphers so I could be completely wrong, but I hope this helps! I also wanted to make it known I attempted to use What 3 Words on all combinations of the crossword puzzle and now these potential words in the bio, but I didn’t see any thing significant, so I would advise not wasting your time. Again I hope this helps!

          1. If you put the “TraVexFurAngTraTra” as TrappedVexedFuriousAngerTraitorsTrapped and use the pigpen letters corresponding with with those words from the word search, your get DROWND

          2. TheActingMan98

Oh! Great call! That makes sense. I missed Traitors so good catch! The DROWND answer makes sense given the Chest of Sorrows

          3. TheActingMan98

I noticed when I looked at the @AForeCloud on Twitter on my computer the XO’s were broken up like this:

OX XO XO XO XO XX
XX OO XO OX XX OX
XO OO XX OO XO XO

So I wonder if that might have some significance.

          4. SouthofHeaven

If you read them as braile with 3 stacks of 2 for each letter from left to right is spells Tavern.

          5. TheActingMan98

The interesting thing to this is that when Scott got the DROWND answer above I searched if that word had any significance to NPCs or the game given it is a water based pirate game lol. Didn’t find any NPC related Drownings, but did run into the Drowned Rat Tavern at Plunder Outpost. If your finding is correct then it is possible that this clue is referring to there, or someone/something there. When you look up the tavern on the Wiki, not much comes up, but I did find something that might be of value when you look at Plunder Outpost on the Wiki. “ZZ Marks the Spot: On a wooden beam in the tavern, there is a plaque dedicated to ZZ-DE-TOX-ZZ for drinking the most grog in a single Technical Alpha play session.” Again, as with anything I post or is posted, this may have no significance but I thought the username could be important if the tavern might be given the way many of our clues and such are laid out. Also, Plunder Outpost is at J-18.
            https://seaofthieves.fandom.com/wiki/Drowned_Rat
            https://seaofthieves.fandom.com/wiki/Plunder_Outpost

          6. TheActingMan98

If this is correct, then that could line up with the DROWND reference that Scott found above. Possibly the Drowned Rat Tavern at Plunder Outpost. There could be something/someone meaningful as a clue.

          7. Binary? Or what about drawing lines through the 0’s or the x’s? Does it make pig pen?

          8. To save time wasted I looked up the Morse code = ANNNNMMINAMANIMINN
And off chance of binary = j¼Œ
Lol but no idea where you came across the xo comment and had a quick look can not much on twitter bar the most recent images on SoT with 3 people on a sloop and 1 pointing to the arch or mast/bell?

          9. TheActingMan98

The @HORACEEAGLE Twitter bio is: “The loneliest isle on the sea is the path for the.” They have a pic of the a ship from another ship next to an island and potential islands in the background.

          10. TheActingMan98

I did see someone’s comment on the ship pic think that Horace and and AForeCloud might be red herrings, which I won’t rule anything out at this point. With that said, they do exist and do match the ‘H’ Twitter handles while simultaneously answering the HoraceEagle and AForeCloud findings. I have no clue the validity, just trying to make sure people have all the information based on what we find.

        2. I think the answer to the riddle “With your hair, all brown and drab, you’re not a snitch, you’ll never tell.” is “RAT”. I think there is a rat in the weeds behind the chest of sorrows.

        1. That is one weird image of a galleon. It’s covered in stuff. And the mast doesn’t seem to match up with the deck. So many bits sticking out at odd angles I tried looking at it upside down. It looks like 2 ships one behind the other. Or that it is morphing into something else made of stone and plants. Like Brine Fortress. In the header.
Looks like it could be cannon cove or summit. Near lonely isle and loan cove.
Could be onto something with DROWND. And Plunder Outpost. ‘Drowned Rat’. Zz de tox zz . There were lots of unnecessary zzz’s in one of the puzzles. And I can see the rat as well in the chest of sorrows pic. That looks like the Wilds. SOT posted Fools Lagoon Sunday vibes last week.

      1. The problem is;

        1. We don’t have a starting point
        2. The “directions” end up backtracking themselves and doesn’t make sense when used

but maybe you know something I don’t though

        1. What is the starting island is cannon cove, the island that was randomly posted about on the main twitter?

          1. Three Paces and Cannon Cove lead to empty spaces on the map, even if you do use S9 instead of S10

  41. I really dont understand that cipher thing at all, but could you use Horace in the “ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ” type thing like “HORACEBDFGIJKLMPQSTUVWXYZ” and get some kind of results?

    1. In a case where you want to use horace as the key word, you would use horacebdfgiklmnpqstuvwxyz,. For a foursquare cypher “I” and “J” have the same assigned slot, so if you get an answer that doesn’t make since switch the I out for a J or visa versa.

  42. It could be nothing but find the map interesting that symbols for sea forts = crossed cannons, forts = skull, ports = anchor. But sea ports = chest? Not sure if it relates to the story of vaults & chests

  43. ‘So, get ready for the painful proof of why I am obsessed.’
Given Pride month is June, I thought the clue would be Pride or some numerica/alpha variation

  44. in the Hseesall clue, all of the lines start with cardinal directions nw ne se se nw ne ne. what does it mean. also there are seven directions given

  45. i counted the coins and heres each pile, starting top right going anticlockwise,

    1 3 10 4 7 11 10 6 9 2 11 10 7 2 4

i correlated these to letters in the alphabet and got this

    acjdgkjfibkjgbd

i dont know what to do with this or even if its helpful but im posting it to potentially help others.

i also put it in vigenere cipher and got no solid words. might put the letter combination into anagram solver and ill update on that.

edit, not an anagram, probably a dead end.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

I don’t think so, I think you are onto something. Each line to the clue starts with a direction. I think the numbers are how far you go in each direction.

  46. GaudierPuppy866

The community has essentially solved the HSeesAll puzzle, they just don’t realize it. The comment below mine suggested using the numbers coins in each pile, and that is when I saw the solution. there are 19 piles of coins. There are also words in the clue that start with n, e, s, or w. Each of these letters stands for a direction. Some words that are right next to each other and were not punctually separated that could be grouped into one direction were grouped (e.g “should ever” would become SE “should not” would be S and N). If you groups the directions like this, you will get 19 directions, which just happens to be the number of coin piles. If you look at the find me clue with the four directions, you will see an arrow pointing up, an arrow pointing right, an arrow pointing down, and an arrow pointing left. If you correlate these directions to the sides of the clue where the coins are, and start at the bottom, you will get this: 2N, 9W, 6W, 10N, 11SE, 7E, 4S, 10E, 3S, 1E, 6W, 2NW, 10SW, 8N, 4S, 2W, 7S, 10E, 11E. After looking at some previous posts, it seemed like these are directions on the map, starting from (or perhaps ending at) the fort of the dammed. If you keep scrolling down in the comments, you will find some comments of people who say that using the words from the crossword puzzle will get you LTRMTAVCFT. They also say that when you put this in the substation cipher from puzzle three, you will get the fort of the dammed (no wonder we were so stumped on what aforecloud meant). As for what lies at the end of those directions, I have no idea, as I cannot zoom in on the map image. A great big thank you to the people who posted the comments I referred to. All of you were right, but few people realized it.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

There was an extra north direction I did not see before (line 13 of the clue). It seems like I may not be entirely correct.

      1. GaudierPuppy866

I filtered out everything but the letters n, s, e, and w from the HSeesAll clue:

        N W
        W W
        N S E
        E S
        S
        E
        S
        E W
        N W S
        W
        N S W S
        E
        N
        E

Edit: It seems like the combination may be:
        2NW, 9W-W, 6N, 10SE, 11E, 7S, 4S, 10E, 3S, 1E, 6W, 2NW, 10S, 8W, 4N, 2SW-S, 7E, 10N, 11E.

        1. there’s in total 133 coins, 123 from Hseesall, 10 from skullcannonball,

of those 133, 50 are shaded, 46 from hseesall and 4 from skullcannonball

I am not seeing any viable use so far though

          1. Delivers you letters essential to read, this final control is the last that you’ll need.

WashedRobots bio still needs solving as well

        2. GaudierPuppy866

Additional edit: There are three other ways to combine the directions, giving us a total of four combinations, and there are 4 words from the puzzles. Perhaps there is a connection?

          1. Considering that the coin piles can be arranged into any order without some clue/key to use them, I don’t think that the number of coins in a pile correlate with the cardinal directions from Hseesall message.

His bio says to count every coin. Why would we then split the coins up.

The 133 space counting from left to right, top down, shows a very large Keel Haul fort

          2. GaudierPuppy866

I respectfully disagree. His bio says to account for every coin, which means to consider or regard in a specified way. In this context, I would assume it is stating that each coin is to be considered significant.

          3. GaudierPuppy866

Edit: The shaded and unshaded coins could be what the clue is referring to. However, the number of coins was never referred to. Until we get more information, it seems like this clue could be interpreted in a variety of ways.

          4. GaudierPuppy866

How did you get Keel Haul Fort from 133 spaces? The map is only 26 spaces across.

          5. I found KeelHaulS – I’ll explain how – might be just a coincidence – In the letter with Pig Pen cipher I also used the arrows above the cipher and added to HSEESALL – I got LUKLHSEESALL – I then used H as the pig pen cipher key and I got KEELHAULS using Anagram solver – Coincidence?

  47. Not that it means anything to me, and probably pointless, but for giggle – HORACE, AFORECLOUD, also spells out H FACE REDO A COLOUR or U COOL HOARDER FACE. Kinda funny !

  48. GaudierPuppy866

Edit: the words from the crossword puzzle that get you the fort of the dammed should be LDHDNWRTOF, not LTRMTAVCFT. For some reason editing my comment causes moderation errors, so I have to reply to it.

        1. Captain Crimson

What cipher I don’t remember ever using a substitution cipher that could be reused for this

    1. i’m guessing your on planetcalc.com, the h cipher on there was added by the devs of it (who are also sea of thieves fans) after they found the cipher code in the words monarch, eagle, and snake. using it on the find me page gets you the @Hseesall twitter account

      1. ok but i also found that other than monarch eagle and snake, there is also sharkbait. IDK what it means other than maybe sharkbait cove?

  49. Captain Crimson

Also what does the fort of the Damned mean? How are we supposed to use that for the next part?

  50. For the coins, if we take North for top South for bottom, West for left and East for right we have the right number of coins for the number of letters starting each line.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

That sounds like a good idea, but if you count the number of coin piles and the number of lines, you have 19 piles of coins and only 14 lines of words.

  51. TheActingMan98

That’s cool because when I took the solved star chart and placed it over the full map, orienting the staring point with Cannon Cove by rotating the star chart to the right I think, I also saw it end at the Forth of the Damned. I know you already affirmed based on the ciphers, but it’s cool it also linked through the map and Star chart.

  52. I see a few issues with this:

    • There are more than 19 occurrences of words beginning with NSEW – if you omit some, which ones?!
    • There is no substitution cipher to reuse
    • A substitution cipher’s input (LDHDNWRTOF) and output (For of the Damned) would have to contain the same amount of letters
    1. TheActingMan98

That is what I am attempting currently. I think they have to be in a different order or start from somewhere other than the FotD or Cannon Cove because you run out of room on the map if you go west multiple times in a row.

      1. GaudierPuppy866

I wonder if some of the other words we got from the puzzles refer to the features of an island (in other words the starting point) like everyone thought at first.

        1. melted tolblerone

what cypher did you use exactly to get fort of the damned cause there is no cypher that we used for the third puzzle

  53. GaudierPuppy866

Here is a simplified version of the directions if anyone needs it: 17S, 17E (or 17SE). I essentially added all the directions together (e.g 10W, 2E becomes 8W). This narrows down the starting point to a 9×9 grid on the top right corner of the map. This grid contains the top right edge of the wilds and the shores of gold.

    1. TheActingMan98

That makes a little more sense because I was going to write back and tell you I wasn’t having any luck previously.

    2. TheActingMan98

Well I used an Excel Doc to map out that entire region so I could better see everything. Not really sure what I’m looking for, but FotD is in this area. I also noticed there are 4 vaults in this area too. The Scarab (Land) Vault at Crook’s Hollow, The Crab (Land/Sea) Vault at N13, The Shark (Sea) Vault at Kraken’s Fall, and the Eagle (Air) Vault at Fetcher’s Rest. Again, not sure any of progressive information, but Just thought it was interesting.

    3. GaudierPuppy866

Edit: starting point is in a 9×9 grid on the top left part of the map, not the top right. Sorry about the mistake, my bad.

  54. If you use Horace’s location (Dagger Tooth Island on M8) and follow the cardinal directions one square each in the riddle from HSeesAll and take into account a western square for both capitalized words you end up on O5 on the four square map which is marked with a treasure chest icon.

    1. Another possibility is doing that from A4 (AFORECLOUD) but following the cardinal directions quickly takes you off the map which doesn’t seem right to me.

    2. JimyChickenfoot

A rock there at the same exact spot as the chest on the map at O5 points to Kraken Watchtower. In game. If that helps

  55. Anyone notice the coins on the @skullcannonball riddle. It also has a coffee stain. maybe it means something?

  56. Spartan Of Vale

So I saw someone else post about it hours ago, but @AForeCloud and @HORACEEAGLE on Twitter come back to accounts controlled by H.

The HoraceEagle account has 1 post of what appears to be a galleon at a Dock somewhere in the Sea of Thieves. The AForeCloud account only has the retweet about the boundless chest of sorrow, but their bio is definitely curious. Hope this helps so better code crackers than I!

    1. Amir Abdollahi

We think it’s a fake account and not part of the mystery. Someone might have made it to throw us all off.

        1. sorry to tell you it was, the account was created 2nd of june. also for the aforecloud bitly was created 2nd of june.

  57. Has anyone else followed this link?
    bit.ly/aforecloud
It’s a pirate game, but its significance to our hunt is well, I have no clue.
I will mention Sea Of Thieves is in the URL when using the bit.ly

  58. C0n7r0113dCh@05

HSEESAll’s letter could produce pigpen cipher characters. whether the characters have dots or not is unclear though.

    1. Good realisation.
Assuming that the 2 refers to the set of 2 coins in the corner of the note, we can rotate the note 135 degrees counterclockwise to have the top of the map have North=2, which leaves the coins at the corners as E=7, S=0 and W=4.

All I could muster from this was converting the directions from the beginning letter (NWNESESENWNENE) to the number of coins in that position, assuming the 2 coins were at the position of North.

If you assume that each letter refers to one of the Cardinal Directions (N = North, and not NW = NorthWest), then converting the numbers equals:

      N = 2
      W = 4
      N = 2
      E = 7
      S = 0
      E = 7
      S = 0
      E = 7
      N = 2
      W = 4
      N = 2
      E = 7
      N = 2
      E = 7

However, if you assume that the letters refer to Intermediate Directions (NW = NorthWest and not N=North), then instead of counting the numbers in the corners, we can count the numbers inbetween them (I haven’t included the numbers in the corners, which could be wrong). Converting the numbers equals:

      NW = 30
      NE = 36
      SE = 18
      SE = 18
      NW = 30
      NE = 36
      NE = 36

Not sure where to go from here though…

    2. Good realisation.

      1. I was thinking maybe we need to count the letters corresponding to the numbers on the lines you figured out?
Cause this seems to match (i did do it manually; so my counting is prone to error, but for your first sequence i get the word: EWOOSMSAECIIA
For the second sequence (with NW etc. they match every two lines from that letter); i get the word: MUEAAED
( Again i did this manually so prone to error; also i guess i dont think it will be this easy but maybe put it in that pigpen thing?)

  59. Just saying guys, dont trust you find, check the bitly creation dates by adding a “+” at the end of the link, for twitter look for dev tools, and search for a creation date string

    1. JohnnyBravo2369

the key for 3GDURG was too. I dont think its significant, just like the dice and the compass in the 1st two puzzles were facing south.

  60. Something I’ve noticed with the original post pic of the chest is that the star constellations are viewed correct in this pic as viewed from the North to the South. With Kraken being North on the box. Also if you turn the star map puzzle upside down, to match, the W and East are now in the correct places, the S is reversible, so still looks like S, and N looks like an ‘H’ like the ‘H’ used for the mystery signature.

  61. Richard Wallberg

HSeeSAll’s letter has 18 coins on north (upper) edge, 26 along the east, 34 on the south and 45 on the west. Maybe counting out individual letters in the note?

  62. General recap:
Overall consensus is that the @horaceeagle and @aforecloud accounts are fake based on them being posted after the start of the 4th riddle. Therefore their clues/answers may not be of use. The letter from @hseesall appears to be the the most recent clue and yet to be fully deciphered. Of note is the fact that the first letter of each line starts with a compass direction (N, S, E, W). With all but 3 having that first letter capitalized. This is most likely compass headings, with the lowercase lines either being omitted or denoting diagonal directions. So we have either; (N, W, N, E, E, E, N, W, N, E, E) or (N, W, N, E, sE, sE, N, W, N, E, nE). The question is where do we start and how far in each direction do we go. The coins around the letter may be indicators in some way. As we have yet to use the map, other than rotating and combining the pieces in the correct orientation, we’ll probably be tracing a path on the map with these directions, especially with H’s opening letter to this puzzle hinting at a Journey. Of interesting note is that in order to create the pigpen cipher to get to @hseesall, we only needed the solutions to the first 3 puzzles (monarch, eagle, snake). Leaving the 4th puzzle yet unused and possibly still unsolved. AFORECLOUD may not be the intended solution and if it is, why wasn’t it needed or used for the “find me” pigpen cipher? Especially since the arrow/medallion symbols on those 4 puzzles matched those on the “find me” note. I think we need to focus on the latest letter as well as revisit the word search/AFORECLOUD, for its intended purpose. Just my thoughts before I go cross-eyed looking at this thing.

  63. i figured it out guys the current note requires a compass cipher unsure of proper inputs to solve and the map needs a Letter Spokes Cipher Clock to solve also unsure of proper inputs to solve info i got the words that were left horaceaforecloud unscables to read race for a cloud h or h race for a cloud were looking for a bitly one drive code fore the key

  64. also guys they specify we dont have the answer to the 4th cipher and we do the msg says who delivers letters essential to read the answers is the a-z those are your letters minus the j get it its the alphabet so we are in fact past the 4th four square cipher thats complete

    1. I thought the answer to that riddle might be test, a bit more convoluted, but a test delivers letters essential to read, this final ‘control’ (test) is the last that you’ll need.

      1. I still believe the answer to that riddle will be the last clue, given that the previous 3 clues are the answer to previous twitter account riddles in bio.

  65. GaudierPuppy866

For the HSeesAll puzzle it seems like if we go off the parchment alone, there are many different ways to put the clues together. If you look at the skull cannonball post, it describes directions that could be translated into compass bearings and has a pile of coins on the left side. Perhaps the skull cannonball riddle is meant to act as a key since you need to know the solution to get to the HSeesAll puzzle? The fact that the HSeesAll puzzle had 19 piles of coins instead of one would appear to go against this theory, but it is still possible.

  66. GaudierPuppy866

One of the reasons that we are not making much progress with the HSeesAll puzzle could be that we do not have all the information. We got to the HSeesAll twitter account by filling out two grids to make a pigpen cipher using the words Monarch, Eagle, and Snakes. However, there are other combinations that would fill the two grids. Monarch, Horace, and Eagle make up 18 letters, which is the number of spaces that make up the two grids.

  67. Each line starts with a Cardinal Direction: N, S, E, and W. Also, use the large coins in the piles of coins surround the words on the parchment distances counted. What is the starting point with the map or piles or coins?

  68. This is not relevant at all, but I do wish to say, I’ve really enjoyed this, today more so, because it’s not been about solving anything today, it’s all the sidetracks you end up on, as already stated, the Australian Edu bit.ly site, that actually has SoT in the URL… find the pirate treasure, I’ve done that like 4 times now… just to waste some boredom time. And another, was (going by the H letter, account… “for EVERY” I looked up H4ever on twitter.. found an account called Big H (H4ever) who released a track 2 weeks before the start of the mystery called 2 FACED ?!?! coincidences yes, but fun anyway.

    1. I mean c’mon, what are the chances of that ? Big H who actually on his music has Big $H.. releasing a track called 2 Faced 2 weeks before the mystery staring… that’s insanely funny… and enough to sidetrack me for the afternoon, till the most recent video on twitter, by Rare, which again I think is just not actually a clue in any way .

    2. Yeah, in some odd way I thought like ready player one, the rare team was intentionally taking us to the roots of the game in that little minigame. There’s a bear (BANJOK) Pirate Jack, 4 keys open the chest, ‘puzzles for tiny minds’

  69. GaudierPuppy866

What if we solve the HSeesAll puzzle the same way we solve the skull cannonball puzzle? If you combine every two lines with the HSeesAll puzzle, you get the directions: NW, NE, SE, SE, NW, NE, NE. In the skull cannonball puzzle, we translated compass bearings that comprised more than one direction into pigpen ciphers. We could do the same here. Also, the skull cannonball puzzle had a pile of coins on the left side, which could be included in the coins we are supposed to account for. Perhaps these puzzles are not to be solved in the exact same way, but it is worth looking into.

  70. JohnnyBravo2369

has anyone thought to possibly count EVERY coin in ALL the puzzles on every parchment? because there are 132 total coins this round of puzzles. or maybe look into the shaded coins over the non-shaded coins?
just a thought. I have been racking my brain for 2 days for this and still all dead ends. I would like to know the person that solves the next part cuz damn you are smart AF.

  71. My eyes have been staring at the same clues for 24 hours! I like that everyone is helping each other out on this. Interesting to see all the different forums and discussions! Wishing everyone an awesome day!

  72. AFORECLOUD, A FORE CLOUD, Something in the foreground, out in front.
    Horace’s Location, Daggertooth Outpost.
If you put a Spoke Cipher over Daggertooth Outpost…The Cipher is the forecloud over Horace.

    1. Thus finally using the map, Horace, and Aforecloud.
I’m thinking somehow the hseesall master, letter clue on twitter provides us with what letters to use on this cipher?

      1. in addition spoke ciphers might be used all over the map over the outposts and hoarders. Possibly going in order of which they arrived…idk?

        1. If you draw one over the 4×4 grid square above Daggertooth (Four Fore) on the map H provided, there are 26 points (A-Z) that intersect with the circle. Two points at E and L have the spoke lines intersecting in the same place.

    2. could also be a clock cipher. the constellation map does count to 24 around it. could indicate 24 hours a day. maybe clock cipher entering 2 12 letter words of some sort

      1. then it could be counting the words in each sentence to come up with the number to use on the clock cipher

    3. I try the map of Sea Of Thieves on Dagger tooth outpost. I try the “2” (ne, nw, se) it lands on close to the old fateful isle. But when I try the North, south, east and west. It landed on a shrine of hungering. It could be a word shark.

I was trying my best to help you solve this problem, because we need to complete this or else it will be gone for good! That means no last trinkets, no last title and no golden skull trinkets.

If we work together, we can solved and send the code so we can finish for good! Good thing the North side has the South side. (Because of the time zone of course.)

If we work hard enough, trying to get answers and after the Horader’s hunt is done, hopefully that Rare/SOT won’t made the same mistake. (And hopefully we might get a 3rd mystery on this ingame, not social internet thing,)

if you have anything questions about these comment, remember the south side and north side.

  73. when it says count the coins. I wonder if it means counting the directional coins in the parchment papers. counting each one including the first clue given has 3. without the first clue, 2 each. I wonder if that has something to do with it because those directional coins aren’t on any of the other puzzle parchment papers. so like each direction means 2/3 squares on the map, and then the beginning of each sentence in the last letter indicates a route to take, but where would we start?

    1. reason I say count the directional coins is because it may not be talking about what we suppose are coins around the outside of the parchment papers. Those could just be a wild goose chase to make people not realize the actual coins are the ones with the arrows

  74. Just FYI, the small geen chest with the gold hoarder medallion shown in the first image is also in the gold hoarder vault at Port Merrick. It can be seen sitting to the left of Hugh, inside a larger gold filled chest. I don’t think it’s significant, since the clues are not supposed to be in-game until the riddle is solved. Just thought I’d mention it.

    1. The chest is at all the gold hoarders, it’s ment to show if someone completed the puzzle (when it’s open)

  75. GaudierPuppy866

If you read the crossword left to right, top to bottom, you will see some statements not mentioned in the crossword puzzle solution. I think we have to use these statements in some way to solve the puzzle and that AFORECLOUD is not the final answer. It would explain why we have been stumped thus far. Perhaps we need more information for the HSeesAll puzzle and the complete solution to the crossword puzzle and the word Horace gives us said information.

      1. GaudierPuppy866

No, but I think that someone would have said something is that was the answer to the whole puzzle.

  76. I’ve been away for a funeral since part 4 started so I’m trying to catch up, has anything been done with the pigpen symbols on the first image? The one with all the vault symbols on it? They translate to CIC which is the roman numeral for 199

    1. TheActingMan98

I’m sorry for your loss and welcome to the final stretch! Your decryption is incorrect if you’re referring to the original parchment that had the arrows and the pig pen symbols with H’s message ,”Find me.” “Decoding the Pigpen symbols as is will reveal the letters, ‘GMQHRDKK.'”

      1. No, I mean the pic with the green chest in the middle and all the vault symbols on it, only has three or maybe 4 pigpen symbols on it. It looks like a partial symbol in the top left corner. CCIC? 299 in old roman numerals or CIC which is 199

  77. Spartan Of Vale

The official SoT Twitter account said that all of the relevant info from H was released on June 1st, but we are still missing crucial steps and that we should check back over everything…seems like we definitely have some wrong info plugged in somewhere which is why we are stuck.

They made that post within the past hour.

    1. Spartan Of Vale

Could the bios of the other twitter accounts be an additional clue towards the riddle?

I think the @frostlocker one seems to be mentioning the symbol for the Fort of Fortune?

    2. Basically, they’re saying we’ve done it wrong, try again. I have no more energy for this nonsense, I wish they would just keep it in the game. I found a clue using the H variant of the pigpen cipher that spelled out “Keelhauls” – no one else has found this, would be a strange coincidence if it was just random…

    1. TheActingMan98

The @HoraceEagle and @AForeCloud Twitters were deemed to be fake since they were created after June 1st.

  78. Thomas Applebee

Ok, I’ve been puzzling over a piece not addressed here for a day and I’ve no idea where to go with it. So, please add this to pot and hopefully someone smarter than me can find the solution. It’s another Twitter account that may account for the AFORECLOUD clue.

    https://twitter.com/AForeCloud

    1. Amir Abdollahi

The account was made after the clue was found so the community has deemed it fake and not part of the mystery.

    1. Maybe there are clues in the in-game voyages themselves! There are 3 keys, what if they unlock something that gives the final piece of the puzzle. OR if you give them to Horace, he’ll give you a clue!

    2. Is it all possible that the AFORECLOUD is wrong…just looking at if we substitute at “T” for the “E” you get AFORTCLOUD. Don’t see another word in the crossword that would allow it, but I might be missing it. On the recent SOT Twitter Post there is the picture of the ship with the Defaced Reaper’s Mark sails which I am sure I saw somewhere previously. Behind it is a fort with some weird looking clouds…especially the ones overlaying the Sun. A Fort Cloud?

Also, has another tried overlaying the constellation map onto the of the four square map and seeing where it takes you…Hard for me to do, but looks like (after flipping constellation over to account for wrong compass) starts at Plunder Outpost and ends at Wanderers Revenge.

  79. I’ve noticed in the riddles there’s capitalized words and so far there is WAS,JOURNEY,WILL,WATCH,OUT,EVERY. So idk if this means or spells something or can help decipher the code also on the crowning glory riddle picture the dice has the number 4

  80. BlazingFlamee

You guys know how is says t, “Account for EVERY coin”? This could mean the dots around the coin, and if you figure out what the dot and triangle positions mean, all the coins have one letter or number, and putting them together gives you the code.. do we change paths?

  81. “And I’d account for EVERY coin”, those coins around that HSeesAll post definitely mean something (or they are just a red herring lol). I tried to do some weird binary alphabet to form a sentence from the coins, where a dark coin is “0” and a light coin is “1”, so 0 would be A, 1 would be B, 00 would be C, etc. But that brought me nowhere, I also gave up on it as it became to complicated. But perhaps it can inspire someone!

  82. GaudierPuppy866

I made some progress with the phrases spelled out by the crossword (reading from left to right, top to bottom). However, I do not have anything definite.

  83. Look closely on the ‘H’ Big map….HOLY SMOKES those smudges…..the red lines are a Pig Pen cipher

    1. was just looking at map after reading this and could be…also anyone notice the little guy under where tribute peak smudge is in top right. Don’t know what that thing is, but only thing on map that isn’t a marker for an island fort, etc.

  84. In the word search there appears to be extra letters that don’t fit into any words, has anyone isolated these yet and tried working with them? What I see appears to be “XTRAIXDEPURS” Extra 9 pursed?

          1. That’s cool. I do prefer their layout and graphics, but they don’t have a lot of the puzzles solved, such as the 4 maps that should be aligned right.

  85. I hope I didn’t miss this in the article or the comments, but how did we get “THWODDLNFR” as the order for the crossword? Shouldn’t the order be the order of the answers to the riddles? “LDHDNWRTOF”?

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Not necessarily. If you read the pigpen runes as they appear on the crossword from left to right, top to bottom, the spell THWODDLNFR. Also, THWODDLNFR returns actual words when decoded, while LDHDNWRTOF does not.

  86. Any ideas/thoughts on all the extra ‘Z’ on the logic puzzle clue and star chart clue parchments? I count 23 unnecessary Z’s

    1. It’s because a 4square works in pairs and has to output a value with even digits. The Zs are just to show it’s a spare value that needs discarding

  87. On the big map of the Sea of Thieves, there are 12 diagonal lines coming from each outpost. There are 4 groups of 3 lines coming from NE, SE, SW, and NW on each one. The only diagonal lines on the map come from the outposts. It might be nothing, it just caught my eye.

    1. Update: There is also one horizontal line that goes through each outpost. It is harder to see than the other lines.

  88. Cardinal directions at the start of each line in the last note are N,W,N,E,S,E,S,E,N,W,N,E,N,E.
    Might be helpful

  89. If you look at the ‘Sot Monopoly Board’ (Rare Store has a high res Picture of it) you can see that it is almost exactly the same map as the 4 Square one. If you overlay them you can see the Monopoly Map showing/revealing the “missing” cliffs and rocks on the 4 square map. Also the Sea Dog Tavern got moved a bit and the Fort of the Damned has the old Name ‘Old Boot Fort’ from what I can tell, so it might be just an older map. -If it’s not relevant, it might rule out some things

  90. I’m just wondering with the logic puzzle you got Horace and eagle, where were they used and why wasn’t marauders chest also used?

    1. GaudierPuppy866

The logic puzzle only asked for the first hoarder who made it back (Horace) and where they hid their loot (Eagle).

  91. Could it have something to do with what he hid in the vault. I haven’t seen anyone look into that yet.

  92. correct if wrong. but the answer for the logic question isn’t complete, it is missing the category of traitor, betrayer, backstabber, turn coat, double crosser and snake.
1horace opulent curious moon vault betrayer
2henry peculiar relics shark vault backstabber
3humphrey marauders chest scarab vault turn coat
4harry adorned receptacles eagle vault double crosser
5herbert chest of ancient tribute snake vault snake
6hugh captains chest boar vault traitor

  93. Someone found that the map (with the red arrows in the corners) perfectly overlays with the arrows on one of those first tweets from stage 4 (the image of the last chest with all the symbols around it). You can overlay the map in four different ways. I can’t really see anything in it but the arrows align too perfectly for this to not be something. Perhaps someone else can figure that one out?

    1. Combining this with the last note, I realized that the chest picture has all of the animals in the logic question…if you draw a line on the chest image connecting all of the animals in order of the logic puzzle, you therefore have a path you can overlay the map…I don’t see how the chest image overlays the map and have been trying to figure out if there is something there…or perhaps overlays the constellation map?

    2. Think I am on to something, but hit a wall…take a look at the map/chest pictures I posted and see if you have any ideas. Used logic puzzle order on the chest image and then lined up the arrows with the only possible configuration on map where everything lines up…Problem is the logic puzzle path doesn’t seem to line up with anything…This feels right, but need other brains.

      https://twitter.com/bonavoxmac/status/1666166639212240898?s=20

      1. GaudierPuppy866

As far as I can tell, all the symbols on the constellation map are on the picture of the chest. Perhaps the respective lines they form line up with something when combined?

        1. Played with that, the constellation map does not have a “moon”. Interesting that is the only non-animal on the list.

  94. GaudierPuppy866

It seems like the phrases that make up the crossword can be used to describe words. Here are my notes:

    Beware the acid rages
Scour vent and employ = (whatever you employ to stop acid)

A fury engages (perhaps enrages) gloaters
    Spurs greeds downfall =

    This basest jealousy finds
    Ten thoughts of above
    All themed in disgust
    Time makes dead cheats =

    This Ousted relic’s soul tra-
ces posters of the deep =

    These Ruffians mostly adapt
    Loss ur rickety ship =

    Have you lasted out or
    Sensed toxic seasicks =

    Ye heart serving part
    Thou readily taxed gold
    For they are hexapods
    And rottenly viscious =

    1. Are these odd phrases anagrams? Cryptic crossword puzzle questions? Sensed Toxic Seasicks can be turned into Exotic Decks Seas Sins

I have no idea if this is worth persuing.

    2. GaudierPuppy866

Update 6/6/2023: For the first set of lines, one of the suggestions is Tums, which is an anti acid. I think it could be milk, which is a neutralizer and people had access to it in the time when Sea of Thieves takes place.

For the second set of lines, I think it could be defeat. People who gloat tend to get angry when they lose, and defeat due to greed could be part of greed’s downfall.

For the fifth set of lines, I think it could be castaways, a word which describes people who had been shipwrecked and stranded in an isolated place.

I am not quite sure about the other lines. I will update this post as I get more information or find more possible words.

  95. frogastronaut844

i put the word gold in a it took a while for it to process that answer so i think the code has something to do with gold i guess.

  96. Chris Dohaniuk

So I’ve tried using the map to count from the center of the H and use the coins for directions, I’ve tried playing battle ship. An even counting up all the gold on all events on the table. An no luck. :/

  97. C0n7r0113dcha05

I get the feeling that the puzzles associated with the arrows lead to positions on the map which then can be put into the 4square cipher (translating the number to a corresponding letter)

  98. Lol haven’t been involved till last night at 10pm and just learned that the map is the entire actual sea of theives map. 😛

  99. How come we don’t include the last riddle from @WashedRobot?
‘Delivers you letters essential to read, this final control is the last that you’ll need.’

      1. Johnnyabravo2369

No actually you are correct. And i spent about 8 hrs last night trying to rework thar damn thing and still nada. But its obviously a clue we need to redo

  100. While running through orientations of the map over the image of the chest posted by @seaofthieves I find that one of the 4 possible orientations matches the answers to the first 3 puzzles to their corresponding cardinal directions. Each of the first 4 puzzles has a GH medallion oriented N, E, S, and W respectively. North corresponds to monarch, east to eagle, and south to snake. One of the possible overlays puts the sea queen glyph (monarch) to the north, snake to the south, and feather/eagle to the east. This can’t be coincidence. I’m not sure we’ve correctly interpreted the word search since Aforecloud has yet to be used or give us any new clues. Maybe the map could hint at the answer to the 4th puzzle. With the map overlaid, the turtle, follower, and skull coin all orient to the west. Just can make sense of it past that.

  101. has anyone looked into the ship’s crest on H’s profile banner? it looks like something is written there.

  102. GaudierPuppy866

When I looked at the chest on the first tweet, I found that when I zoomed in, I could see an incision on the coin on top of the chest that was in the same spot as the dot for the coin that marks the constellation puzzle.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Edit: Additionally, it had a key similar to the one in the cardinal directions puzzle. Furthermore, the three pigpen symbols on it correspond to the symbols on the bottom right side of the map and the top right symbol on the map.

  103. For the logic puzzle, the point of origin where all the traitors stole the different treasures from would be the shores of gold vault right?

  104. I keep thinking the crossword must be wrong. Or, if it isn’t, the puzzle itself isn’t consistent. “This deadbeat ruins roles” has “roles” which is an anagram of “loser.” Okay, good. “A rising fury is what you’ll find in the stranger’s heart” has the word “anger” in the word “stranger.” Yep. “A hex concealed inside incurs envy…” has “curse” buried in those last two words. Great. There’s usually something like this, where the word itself is hidden in the sentence. But then “meddler” doesn’t seem to be hidden in the sentence anywhere. Neither does “furious.” Though maybe “furious” goes with the “rising fury” clue instead, but then where does “anger” go? I’m probably just confused, but we also don’t really know what “aforecloud” means.

    1. These took me some time to understand, too.

For meddler: the clue says “a prying snoop who sounds like a winner,” which points to how “meddler” sounds like “medaler,” or one who wins medals.

For furious: “A livid rage created from written promises of hide, perhaps” = fur (hide) + IOUs (I owe yous)

Torture: “this…sounds like a fire starter,” so, similar to meddler, “torture” sounds to the ear like “Torch-er,” or fire starter.

It’s less about finding the letters in the sentence for each one, and more about reading the sentence differently than it originally seems to read. Hats off to whoever sorted these out first

      1. I think I get most of them, though some I still don’t have the answer to. I’m not sure if the full explanations have ever been posted anywhere. Let’s see how many I can list.

Loser — A deadbeat is a loser, and also it ruins/scrambles the word “roles.”

Trapped — I get the “captured” connection, but I’m not sure what the rest of it means.

Revenge — It says vengeance never looks back (a re-venge), which kind of makes sense but kind of doesn’t.

Meddler — A prying snoop is a meddler who sounds like winner (medal-er). (I was proud that I did get this one before it was explained to me.)

Traitors — This is one I don’t get. Seems like a pun on “betray”? The “tray” part?

Anger — This one I guess is a word pun, the “heart” of “stranger” is “anger,” since it’s in the word? Anger is also a rising fury, of course.

Vexed — I don’t understand this one. It seems like a pun using the “ex” in “executions” and “exasperated.” I’m not sure what the numbers are for. I get that to be exasperated is to feel vexed, of course.

Curse — The gold curse, and I guess the pun is the words “inCURS Envy.”

Furious — I would not have understood the fur/hide IOU pun if you hadn’t told me! And then the livid rage is the literal part.

Torture — Torture is torment and a “torcher” is a fire-starter. This is a clever one.

        1. Washed Up Fish

Some thoughts. Its like a cryptic crossword, theres a definition at the end or the beginning and some indicators/wordplay in the clue.

Loser: “deadbeat” – definition, “ruins” is an anagram indicator.

Trapped: “captured” – definition, broken trade = traed, p abbreviation for page. Pages inside traed gives “trapped”

Revenge: “Vengeance” – definition. “Looks back” is an indicator for reversal. Never reverse is: reven + abbreviation for exampe “eg” reverse gives revenge.

Meddler: “Snoop” – definition, “sounds like” is a homophone/wordplay indicator for medaler

Traitors – Those who betray – definiton. A choice – or, attributes = trait. Trait leads give traitors.

Anger – “Fury” definiton. My guess is you’ll find is an hidden word indicator since anger is spelt out in “strANGERs heart”.

          Vexed: Exasperated – definition, V = 5, D = 500 (roman). Beginning of executions between V and D gives vexed.

Curse: Hex – definition, consealed inside – hidden word indicator and you can see curse is spelt out in the clue.

Furious: Rage – definition, perhaps might be a wordplay indicator, or that the clue shouldnt be taken too literally. Hide = fur, and IOUS = I owe yous (written since abbreviation).

Torture: Torment – definition, once again “sounds like” wordplay indicator on torch.

I know some of them has been explained before, but i wanted to write down my thought on every word.

          1. Thanks! Every one of these make sense now. One clarification is that “pp,” specifically, is “pages.”

So I guess, if we’re wrong about the word search, it’s how we’re using it (my guess is the order of letters), not the words themselves.

          2. Washed Up Fish

Yeah, I wrote “p for page”, and then pages. I thought it was self-explanatory. 🙂 But I agree, every word makes sense.

  105. The newest post includes a picture of a chest of endless sorrow. I saw someone mention the twitter @aforecloud, which only has a retweet of a chest of endless sorrow. Looking at the most recent post there seems to be a “S” in the water coming off of the chest to the right of the face.

    1. The Great Warrior was also known as the Sea King – He hooked up with the Siren Queen, but some ancient peeps didn’t like this and started plotting against them. The ancients managed somehow to lure and trap the Sea King at the shrine of tribute, they performed a ritual and locked his soul inside the Chest of Sorrows, he’s the dude that’s always crying. The Siren queen wasn’t happy about this at all she slapped all the ancients upside the head and dragged them to the bottom of the sea and turned them into ocean crawlers. The Siren Queen then got cursed somehow with the Sunken Sorrow Curse and locked herself in the Shrine of Ancient Tears. I blame the ancients for starting all this, what an intolerant bunch… Can’t we all just get along…

      1. And don’t forget she also killed De Marco.. and depending on how you look at the wordsearch you could be left quite easily with the letters that form D.M. TRADER PUT N

        1. If u put that into the Google surch it comes up with flameheart if that helps I’m not sure as my brain hurts lol

          1. And on another wild run of things… aforecloud (which I’m still not sure is what we need) but if so.. is also an anagram of a loud force… a loud force ?? a storm, thunder ?/ or a big grumpy shouting head in the sky??

  106. GaudierPuppy866

I think I found a match between the map and the constellation puzzle. I drew some lines between the images on the chest the same way they were drawn on the constellation puzzle. I then proceeded to draw similar lines (they were different sizes than the ones I drew on the chest, but they fit together the same way) on the map. These lines led from Ancient Spire Outpost to Morrows Peak Outpost. I will add the images to this post as soon as I can figure out how to get the url for them.

  107. GaudierPuppy866

The solutions to the puzzles posted by the twitter accounts from puzzle 3 have contained constellations so far, so it would make sense that the same would be true of the crossword puzzle. I don’t have the answer to the crossword puzzle, but I thought that this might be helpful to those trying to find the solution to the crossword puzzle.

  108. Has Anyone noticed that there are 4 pigpen writing on the picture with the chest one on the chest to the left and the rest in plain sight pointing to an image

  109. In the word search I can see: Curses, Furious, Anger, Traitor(s), Vexed, Loser, Losses, Trapped, Dread, Cheated, Torture, Meddler, Revenge.

  110. On top of that, a very good friend of mine, who was just popping round for a chat, looked over my shoulder at my screens… he is actually a Theologist lecturer at a Local university. (not that it matters). however, he glanced my shoulder, and said, they are all deadly sins in that grid there ? so I said, yeah be are working off the crossword clues, he then pointed out that the cardinal sins are 7, but beforehand they were 9…. ?? then he explained what they were… and they all sit above where it says, find 10 thoughts from above……. Just spun my head yet again

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Taking words directly from the crossword that could indicate sins, I found: Acid, rage, vent, employ, fury, gloater, greed, jealousy, basest, and scour (most of this was obtained through the process of elimination).

  111. Finally found something in my hours of image matching. To start, a summary for those not looking at some of the mural sites…The images overlap in a number of different ways:
    1) Cup “watermark” joins five of the docs by matching the watermark.
    2) The four-square map lines up with the four arrows (look like pigpen symbols) on the chest image in the original picture, allowing the map to be overlay the chest image
To date, I haven’t found any sign of people linking the two…so think this is a new finding:
I found the linkage between the watermark pages and the chest image/map is the key in the center. If you line up the chest image key with the key on one of the documents (that links with the four other watermark pages) you get a stacked image that includes nearly everything. This matches the first triangle sentence from the twitter bio that said “Explode a shuffled endless stack…”
After you do this and look at a combination of the pigpen note with the arrow and key, the constellation map (linked by watermark) and the chest image, linked by the key…the two arrows (one on the pigpen pages and the other from the chest image) point to the same thing in two different places. The chest image arrow points directly to the Sea (Siren) Queen constellation, and the pigpen page arrow points direction to the Sea (Siren) Queen on the goblet in the chest image.
Bad news, i have no idea what to do with this, but has to be a clue.
Good news, haven’t even used the foursquare map which links into all of these images as well.

  112. Something I think was missed on the chest picture hence why yesterday they pinned it to the top of there twitter

      1. Yes they talked about looking back then yesterday they pinned the reply to the hunt to the top of there page

  113. Agentbravefridge

Someone mentioned they saw an S in the chest of sorrows post on twitter. I went on twitter and checked and in fact there was an S in the tears of the chest. And the Sea of thiefes official Account has posted several in game pictures. So i looked at the about crewmates spotting ships so i watched closely and saw something scribbeled left of the top of the sovergin tower but couldn’t make it out. Can anyone check it out.

    1. And what’s with the new “which chest” image… some very odd and fishy looking reflections. Items, dang it I’m not in front of the right device for this for another hour or so….

    2. The pinned tweet shows a snake on the ground in front of the chest which looks an awful lot like an upside down 5

  114. JimyChickenfoot

Can someone Overlay the four triangle direction coins on the “Find Me H” scroll with the other triangle direction coins one on each of the other 4 riddle scrolls so those symbols line up exactly with that page. I see alot of people line up watermarks but not the triangle to it’s corresponding triangle.

  115. Not on the correct device, so have no focus, or proper image software at the moment, but what the heck animal is that in the background hiding in the bushes on the chest of sorrow pic rare put up ? That truly freaked me for a second ? Rat on land ?

    1. Admiral of the Gilded Royals

That is a spy rat from the reapers, if I remember Captain Falcore’s video correctly… huh!

  116. To decode the messages you needed to use the “FourSquare” Cipher. By having 4 squares and naming the 4th one “Four Square” they hoped we would understand the BIG clue they were throwing us.

  117. What if all the painting’s and symbols in front of the chest reveal something? You know like the first initial of every painting and symbol since they added the snake that resembles a 5 putting them together may make out a word

  118. I’m actually writing this as the mystery is just hours away from ending, and I’m so upset that we were unable to figure this out. My best guess as to what happened is that people either got greedy and kept the information for themselves only to get stuck themselves or that people completed the puzzle and voyage but decided not to tell anyone else the answer.

  119. GaudierPuppy866

Solving the crossword has got to be the next step to discovering more clues. Right now, given the numerous ways in which our current clues can be put together, it is highly unlikely that we have all the information.

  120. The four square map has strange discoloration that doesn’t line up when the map is in the proper order…what if it’s supposed to be lined up differently

  121. GaudierPuppy866

Here are some connections I drew both figuratively and literally between the constellation puzzle, the chest, and the map. I found that if you took the lines as they were drawn on the map, rotated all of them as a whole, and rescaled them, they led from Ancient Spire Outpost to Morrows Peak Outpost.

  122. MAP 1
    MonarchX = Crown Fortress?

    MAP 2
Eagle = Eagle Vault at Fletcher’s Rest?

    MAP 3
    Snake = Snake Island?

    MAP 4
Aforecloud [if this is correct] = ??

      1. I saw that. The one I saw also had the coordinate for Roaring Traders, which would be in this quadrant.

  124. Just a thought but I found if you put the shores of gold in the map, with the treasure in the image with the chest and drawings, then port Merrick in inside of the keyhole of the chest.

  125. 1. I do not think the map has te be aligned in the logical manner it has been. This is also because other clues sometimes had wind directions swapped.

    2. We have to account for ALL coins… In the picture with the new chest you can see ONE coin that is different (the one with the skull imprinted on it). It is also the ONE object blocking some symbol. Should we do something with that?

  126. Tippelschniff

The first letters of the final riddle are all cardinal directions (N,E,S,W) along with a word count per row could there be a route from one place to another here? This would give:

    North 8
    West 5
    North 6
    East 8
    South 9
    East 4
    South 6
    East 4
    North 5
    West 2
    North 7
    East 3
    North 6
    East 3

Total movements lateral and vertical are North 17, East 16

    At this point im stumped

  127. Here’s another tangent for you, If you overlay Tribute Peak, Shores of gold map, both actual, and the one in the pages from the quest..with the recent (which chest would you take) (picture of chests on twitter in the water, with some very strange reflections).. It actually overlays almost perfectly, with vaults and markers on the map… being the chests in the water! Wasted my 20 mins for this morning, it is very suspect to me though. and I haven’t flipped the map to make east west yet. But I’ll try when I’m back.
OH Link for example, haven’t got time to keep playing with it right now. (also A4 on the main map when you flip west to east, becomes Z4 which is right at the bottom right of tribute peak.)

    1. Spartan Of Vale

That’s a very possible solution. Especially when we know that Horace took a Marauders Chest to the vault which was an answer to one of the clues.

  128. Spartan Of Vale

Being that the tweet of the chest is obviously important else they wouldnt have taken the trouble of pinning the tweet, could we possibly overlay the path of the constellations puzzle over the chest and see if anything comes of it?

Thinking of the chest picture itself, there are all of the different constellation/vault symbols all over the picture as well as what appear to be a few pig pen characters (not sure about that one though) as well as symbols found inside of the vaults while doing the Vault puzzles in game (I.e. shroudbreaker, people on boats, the warrior, etc.) There has to be a correlation that we are missing here.

Not to mention, the snake symbol looks a little funky to me, but I havent seen it enough to know if that’s how it normally looks or not.

    1. Spartan Of Vale

Here’s a wild theory, but what if we try to create our own pig pen cipher based on the positions of the pig pen characters and the first letter of the symbol/constellation that its next to?

Could be totally wrong, but after 3 days of stalled progress any idea seem possible.

      1. Spartan Of Vale

After looking more closely at the image of the chest it’s definitely Pigpen ciphers that are hidden in there. We all went for the obvious route of the pigpen characters from H’s letter that we all forgot about the ones on the chest image as well.

        1. GaudierPuppy866

I looked into this a little bit yesterday. I found that the three pigpen ciphers match up with the ones on the right side of the map. I also found that when I drew lines between the symbols shown on the chest, as it is done on the constellation map, these lines, when placed on the map, led from Ancient Spire Outpost to Morrow’s Peak Outpost.

  129. By rotating the constellation map over the H map, the ‘0’ at the top will circle Morrow’s Peak Outpost. Hyde is the one hoarder known not mentioned in all this, it’s a stretch….BUT with that info, I keyed Hyde into the 4th square of the four square cipher. Used the letters MORROWSPEAKOUTPOST in a basic pigpen cipher. Then used the original pigpen code from the first SoT tweet for the 4th puzzle and it gave me back SUSPTRKK. I entered SUSPTRKK into the new 4 square with ‘HYDE’ as the 4th square word and that came back PANTUHHM which if descrambled reads,’ HHUNTMAP’.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Interestingly enough, when I did some matching with the star map and the chest, I found that when I drew lines between the symbols shown on the chest as it is done on the constellation map. These lines, when placed on the map, led from Ancient Spire Outpost to Morrow’s Peak Outpost.

    1. think the aforecloud account is a fake cause it came into being after the mystery or something. Found that out via the chat here

    2. Spartan Of Vale

It is believed that the AForeCloud twitter is fake as it was created after the mystery had already begun.

  130. Also by counting coins separately N E S W, then separating them by Dark Light and Halves, counting each group individually then starting with each shade and counting out the number values stopping at the corresponding words and came up with the phrase ….
    This one slothful and
    thought why me? All
    this, ignore this necessity

  131. Last ridde, if you start from Sanctuary Outpost, which is where Humphrey is, and go N W N E S E S E N W N E N E in squares, you will end up in Picaroon Palms. Don’t know if this is actually any helpful.

  132. Also, in the youareapiratepuppet website, if you delete the ‘square1’ in the link, it will give you another image, in which you can see 9 cards with the Sea of Thieves logo, along with a galleon and the kraken on the top, and a skeleton with a castaway’s chest and a shark on the ocean at the bottom. Surrounding these cards, we can see a compass pointing North and the table has a 6 on it written with lines. We can also see 2 dices, 1 of them has a 1 on its top face and the other has a 3. Now, at Port Merrick outpost, on top of the gold hoarders tent (or building) we can see 3 dices, first one with a 1, second with a 3, and third with a 6. Maybe this is just pure coincidence. Regarding last riddle, I said in other post if you go N W N E S E S E N W N E N E from Sanctuary outpost, you get to Picaroon Palms, but if you do the same from Port Merrick you get to lonely isle. Both of this islands were used on previous parts of the mistery. I will be investigating this islands soon and I will let you know if I find anything interesting.

  133. GaudierPuppy866

Interestingly enough, I found that if you rotate the three pigpen ciphers on the chest image 90 degrees to the right, they correspond to the bottom of the map. Which contains the Eagle Vault and Fletcher’s Rest, the Boar Vault at Devil’s Ridge, and another vault at Mermaid’s Hideaway. Perhaps there are orientations of the pigpen ciphers that get all of the vaults? I am not completely sure, but I thought I might as well throw this idea out there.

  134. GaudierPuppy866

I found that the only symbol’s from the map that have not been used are the sun symbol, the warrior symbol, the symbols of the ancients, and a symbol depicting a group of boats with people in them (a fleet?). Since every riddle from the twitter accounts for the find me clue has included symbols in their solution and sometimes in the riddle itself, I wonder if the crossword puzzle is supposed to cover the rest of the symbols? If this is true, I do not think that only the symbols I mentioned above will be used, as some symbols have been used more than once in these riddles.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Note: This is where I have gotten with the crossword so far:

      Beware the acid rages
Scour vent and employ = (whatever you employ to stop acid) = Milk?

A fury engages (perhaps enrages) gloaters
      Spurs greeds downfall = Defeat?

      Basest jealousy find
      Ten thoughts of above
All themed in disgust = Acid, rage, vent, employ, fury, gloater, greed, jealousy, basest, scour.

      Time makes dead cheats
      The Ousted relic’s soul tra-
ces posters of the deep = No idea

      These Ruffians mostly adapt
Loss ur rickety ship = Castaways

      Have you lasted out or
Sensed toxic seasicks = Something about resisting seasickness =

      Ye heart serving part
      Thou readily taxed gold
      For they are hexapods
And rottenly viscious = Rotten, vicious tax collectors that receive gold and are so awful they are likened to six legged insects =

  135. SinfullySweet13

So I just found this page and I don’t know how you guys do it but huge kudos to everyone your doing an amazing job I was looking at the letter that has the coins as a border and instantly thought like Morse code or maybe a number code based off how many coins are in the pile but not sure I can’t dream of doing code stuff like this so I don’t know much about it lol I pray it gets solved 😁

  136. Since the map put together lines up with the arrow symbols on the map can we do something with the runes and synmbols?

  137. Does anyone have a total count of all the coins from the pages above and the image on Twitter? I’m getting 169 but I have glaucoma and a corneal edema so I am more than likely wrong

  138. Bestfreestylist

I found something but it’s just a set of letters in groups of 4 scrambled. Not sure what to use them for.

      1. bestfreestylsit

what type of encryption uses this type of code? XXXX YYYY ZZZZ. I can’t seem to find anything for it out there. all letters are scrambled. in 19 sets of 4.

  139. After days of still not discovering what we missed, another tweet from the official Sea of Thieves account on June 8th hints that it is something from the Crossword puzzle…”

I knew it! 🙂 “Aforecloud” never made any sense to me, and neither do some of the clues. Time to scramble my brain some more looking at letters! (P.S. You guys are awesome.)

    1. Yep I’ve been saying it over and over, even back through here, it just really doesn’t make as perfect sense as just that.

  140. GaudierPuppy866

This seems to be the most likely translation of the crossword puzzle:

    Beware the acid rages
    Scour vent and employ

  141. Here’s another odd one, a person called Ellen on the Mural site, has done exactly what I did a couple of days ago, but with better thought, and they have come up with the letters technically unused in wordsearch leaving an anagram of TRADEPOSTUXX (Seapost at U20 is Roaring) However, using that as the 4th part for the 4 square (Tradepost) and then putting in the pig pen letters, from solving the cryptic part… you get an anagram of AU GOLD PEAK (Au is gold too ?) which is kinda weird, going to look more into this coincidences.

  142. MinecraftCars77

The note thing says “A rising fury is what you’ll find in a stranger’s heart”
    The crossword says “AFuryEngageGloater”

  143. GaudierPuppy866

After having another look at the letter I noticed something. It refers to a chase across land (Cardinal Directions Puzzle), sea (logic puzzle), and sky (constellation puzzle). It then says that what is last is best. The crossword puzzle is the last in the set of the riddles as they appear on the find me post. Does it have something to do with the best? Given the number of possible ways we can arrange the phrases that make up the crossword, there may be a clue we missed that helps us narrow it down.

    1. I think it just means the 4th puzzle (The Crowning Glory) is best, not the fourth puzzle within this larger fourth puzzle.

  144. Chris Dohaniuk

So question, has anyone just tried playing the crossword? Like see what comes out of it on its own? An maybe from there we might get something.
An on another note, have we tried using the 4 coins on the 4 pages for anything? Like over laying them or anything to see if it eliminates something on the map? Like leaving us 1/4 of the map or something.

    1. Well in theory it’s been both… a cryptic crossword, answers found in a wordsearch / and other words in wordsearch so it’s a cryptic crosswordsearch of other words ish

  145. There seems to be 3 letters (at least) missing from the crossword. These are replaced by an X. I think everyone can agree the first word would be AN(D) the second also seems to be easy I(N). I saw someone post the crossword spaced out down below and they have SEASI(CK)S. However, I personal think the word is I(T)S, “toxic seas its ye heart serving part”. So to me the messing letters are DNT.

    1. I think the missing letters is important, but we haven’t gotten it yet. As we are using some as “X” and some as actual letters. Here is my thoughts:

First 2: AND and IMPOSTERS, D and M
3rd and 4th: Currently reads as TOXIC SEA SIXS YE HEART…Agree with above that T is likely for the 4th…TOXIC SEAS ITS YE HEART SERVING PART…but TOXIC is wrong as didn’t replace the X. Whole line is HAVE YOU LASTED OUT OR SENSED TOXIC SEAS ITS YE HEART SERVING.
      Perhaps it is TOPIC?

5th: FOR THEY ARE HEXAPODS AND ROTTENLY VICIOUS. COULD BE HER APODS…APODS is a footless animal (Fish/Mermaid).

      D, M, P, T, R

  146. Some of the clues for this stage have bullion crowns pointing in different directions. Try to match them up with the ones on the second tweet.

  147. Just to have it all in one place, here are the explanations for the word search riddles. The literal meanings are obvious, but each one has a wordplay element. These explanations been collected from discussion on this page.

Loser – “The deadbeat ruin roles.”
To ruin the word “roles” is to rearrange the letters and get “loser.”

Trapped – “Captured pages inside a broken trade.”
The abbreviation “pp” means “pages.” The word “trade” is “broken” here: “tra” and “ed” (two letters switched, since “broken”), with “pp” in the middle.

Revenge – “Vengeance, for example, never looks back.”
The abbreviation “e.g.” is for “exempli gratia,” which means “for example.” If you spell “e.g.” backward, and then spell “never” backward, you get the word “revenge.”

Meddler – “A prying snoop who sounds like a winner.”
A winner is a “medaler,” like someone who wins gold medals.

Traitors – “A choice in attributes leads to those who betray.”
An attribute is a “trait.” A choice implies the word “or.” Put the two word together to get “traitor.”

Anger – “A rising fury is what you’ll find in the stranger’s heart.”
The “heart”/middle of the word “stranger’s” is “anger.”

Vexed – “Between 5 and 500 executions begin to feel bitter and exasperated.”
The Roman numeral V is 5. The Roman numeral D is 500. The abbreviation for “execution” is “exe.” Put “exe” between the two and get “vexed.”

Curse – “The hex concealed inside incurs envy and greed in Gold Hoarders.”
Inside “incurs envy” is the word “curse.”

Furious – “A lived rage created by written promises of hide, perhaps.”
A written promise is an IOU. If the IOU were made of hide, it would be made of fur. The promises would be “fur IOUs.” Furious.

Torture – “This excruciating torment sounds like a fire starter.”
A “torcher” is a fire starter.

    1. thanks for this. Can you help understand why they used a 4 square cipher with the symbols from these words? Why not another cipher?

      1. The Twitter account @WashedRobot has a link to his map quadrant, and — while the others called theirs square1, square2, and square3, @WashedRobot called his foursquare.

And you will emerge victorious over these hexapods.

          2. I’d like some one to review this it’s 40 words more than any ones found and they do make astory

          3. in other words very good advice 😉 “Beware the acid rage, a destructive force that can consume and corrupt. It is important to control and channel anger in a productive manner, rather than letting it control you. Venting can be helpful, but it’s essential to find healthy outlets for your emotions.
However, be cautious of succumbing to greed and jealousy. These negative emotions can lead to unhappiness and discontentment. Comparing yourself to others or constantly seeking more can rob you of joy. Remember that true fulfillment comes from within and not from material possessions or external validation.

Do not settle for mediocrity, but strive for excellence. Embrace the challenges that come your way, even if they may disgust or discourage you. Time is precious, and it is essential to make the most of it. Avoid getting caught up in trivial matters or the deceptions of life that can distract you from your true goals.
Release yourself from the past and let go of outdated beliefs or possessions that no longer serve you. Rise above the imposters and the deceitful forces that hinder your progress. Surround yourself with genuine people who support and uplift you rather than those who bring you down.

Prepare yourself for the challenges that lie ahead, for they will test you. Remember that life can be taxing, but do not fear. The golden hour, a time of triumph and success, is within reach. With perseverance and determination, you can overcome any obstacles that come your way and emerge victorious. Stay strong, stay focused, and believe in your ability to conquer the challenges posed by the “hexapods” or difficult circumstances in your life.”

      1. JimyChickenfoot

You need 2 keywords for the four square cipher lol that list is not at all what I was asking for

        1. I think this is what you are looking for:

          • Grid 1 alphabet = OUTCASBDEFGHIKLMNPQRVWXYZ
          • Grid 2 alphabet = TWOFACEDBGHIKLMNPQRSUVXYZ
          • Grid 3 alphabet =  GRUDEABCFHIKLMNOPQSTVWXYZ

You will leave the fourth grid as the default value, ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ, as we have yet to solve the puzzle and don’t have the fourth answer.

  149. Can you explain why you put the crossword pig pen letters in that order to get AFORECLOUD? Was it just the first solution that resulted in words, or was there a reason? It is not the original order of the clues in that puzzle, but I can’t see why that order was chosen

    1. I believe the order of letters is what we’re getting wrong, since the puzzle solutions and the pigpens they make seem right. THWODDLNFR sort of goes left to right from top to bottom, but so does THWODDFLRN, OHTDODLNFR, and other ways of looking at it. But none of these (encrypted) seem to do anything (that I see, anyway). Neither does alphabetical, reverse alphabetical, the order of the clues in the puzzle, the order of the clue answers alphabetically, or anything else I can think of.

      1. JimyChickenfoot

Ok i need help with the four square cipher let’s just say we use thwoddlnfr are there other key words we use to get to “aforecloud” or all 4 grids just abc’s minus they j ?

      2. The thing is, I’ve found other words that can be made from variations of the letter order. ASAGECLOUD can be made, as can ASKALOUDCB, or ASKALOUDBX or ASHVECLOUD. I don’t particularly think any of these is or is not the answer, but I think it shows we have to have a reason for the order of the letters, not just that they make a word.

  150. Does anyone know what the phrase “TURKEY GOAT LIVES” means that they have on the t-shirts they’re selling? Just seems odd to me.

    1. pretty sure that is fake. People have said it was made after the 4th puzzle was unlocked and is not followed by the other ones.

  151. GaudierPuppy866

I wonder if AFORECLOUD is part of the key to solving the crossword phrases. I doubt it was happenstance that the pigpen runes from the crossword spelled out actual words when decoded using the four square cipher.

  152. JimyChickenfoot

THWODDLNFR Will someone explain where these letters get input into the 4 square cipher to come up with the answer AFORECLOUD are there 2 other keywords to put in the upper left and lower right squares? OR are all 4 boxes just abc’s minus the j ?

And you will emerge victorious over these hexapods.

  155. What if maybe the cardinal directions have something to do with the pigpen symbols or the letters on the word search (aka paragraph)?

  156. Maybe the star map overlayed on the word search so it matches the edge cutaways or maybe the finger smudges seen on both pages? Then try the pigpen symbols in the order of the constellation puzzle if it lines up?

    1. GaudierPuppy866

That is a good idea, but so far, none of the puzzles have required other puzzles to solve them. Still, it is worth looking into.

  157. “Find Me”. Are we looking for a name of one of the gold hoarders? All of the words in the word find are 5 or 7 letters. 3 hoarders have 5 or 7 letters in their name. Henry, Herbert, Harry

  158. I don’t understand how this became the way to decode the 4 cipher:

    • Grid 1 alphabet = OUTCASBDEFGHIKLMNPQRVWXYZ
    • Grid 2 alphabet = TWOFACEDBGHIKLMNPQRSUVXYZ
    • Grid 3 alphabet =  GRUDEABCFHIKLMNOPQSTVWXYZ

How come it is “outcas” and not “outcast”?
After “twofaced”, why does it start at “B” but then skips letters?
How come “grud” is not “grudge”?

Basically how did we come up with the way the answers are combined with the default alphabet code?

    1. Because you can only have each letter once, and the Twitter bios told us to use the three codes and the alphabet as a control

  159. the original chest image has little L shapes spread across it which line up with the original map. I think this is for sure something, however i’ve tried many combinations and nothing has worked.

  160. Chris Dohaniuk

New tweet by H confirming we are to only use the washedrobot, skullcannonball, frost_locker, and rockeddiet.

  161. Klappergebiss

The crossword puzzle has those 3 Xs, which replace letters. If you draw lines between those Xs, it forms a triangle, very similar to the one we see in all the letters etc from H. The center of the triangle is pointing to the letter I. Starting from this letter, using the cardinal directions of the previous letter, it will give the following letters: I E D D I E A C S D A N D O F
There are some words in there like OCEANSIDE, COINS, IDEAS etc.
    Maybe this might lead somewhere?

      1. Captain Crimson

I unscramble it and got a string of words
        Ascend of Idea Did
Perhaps someone else can make better sense of this

  162. Hey is it possible it could be another derogatory word? I think the words describe the dude maybe or I’m just catching up and someone already said…sorry if I repeated.

  163. SinfullySweet13

I beleive we have to use the letter as wordsearch info for example the first sentence says this deadbeat ruins roles now if you look at the word search basest is one of the words and fits the info from the letter as the answer to the first sentence so maybe something like that is suppose to work

    1. SinfullySweet13

Next one says captured pages inside so maybe Posters, a broken trade maybe is a Loss just guessing here

      1. SinfullySweet13

A prying snoop who sounds like a winner could be a gloater, a rising fury is what you will find in the strangers heart maybe it’s rage

  164. The chest photo contains logos for 2 islands, “Crook’s Hollow” and “Devil’s Ridge”. Both have vaults.

    1. The Inhabitant of "Crook's Hollow" is called Henry the Wild. It may be this character who signs as "H"

      1. Admiral of the Gilded Royals

Interesting theory! But why would he do this? Why would he do the competition? And why would he hate the Gold Hoarders?

        1. C0n7r0113dCha05

I think this mystery was only meant for the gold hoarders and in sharing it they have enraged the author. Though I suspect one of the Hs is already in hot water with the other H already (not that this helps with the puzzle, I just like the opportunity to be a lorehound)

  165. Ok so i read on here that the letter x on the word search replaces another letter If that is correct i found a word maybe its nothing but in the left hand side in the middle of the words search there is a letter i next to it is an x so if that replaces another letter replace it with m and it spells out (Imposter or imposters)

      1. Chris Dohaniuk

Billy what letters were not used on that cross word when you were finished with it? An I’m talking left to right, angles and up and down.

    1. Don’t think it’s connected to the trifle but may give info about H. The color of the page doesn’t match and I believe l the actually Twitter accounts were made within the last few months but I could be wrong

  166. With the assumption that the clue “Delivers you letters essential to read, this final control is that last that you’ll need” which was from the WashedRobot tweet with the crossword points to the need to figure out the letters that should fill in the six “X”s, I played with different combinations of potential replacement letters…The two with the most promise (DMSNKR) and (DMNTKR)…I put in for the 4th four square cyper and got out AROPESLIUN
    and
    AROPENLIUT

Rearranging this letters I get A REPULSION for the 1st and either A ERUPTION or AN OUTLIER for the 2nd. Do any of these ring a bell?

What I think I learned from this excercise is AFORECLOUD is just wrong…We need to put in the 4th four square cyper before we solve…That 4th cyper is in the crossword puzzle and I think it is the six “X” letters..While I might be wrong on which six letters (or the order of them if they are rearranged), I think the concept is right.

Putting these together with the first three clues (which were already used for the pigpen clue to get to HSEESALL), the find me symbols read MONARCHX, HORACEEAGLE, SNAKES, and one of the above words if they are right.

  167. Are looking for a word that fits into the last foursquare slot? And that will “hopefully” give us the correct code? At this point I just want someone to solve it lol

    1. Chris Dohaniuk

We use the 4 square cipher as it is for other parts of the riddle so I don’t think we need a final line.

  168. Has anyone noticed that the find a word pages is back to front compared to the riddle page that came with it? Just noticed the tear lines for the border.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

This is a very good lead, it seems that one of the two pages is meant to be flipped. I think you may have found the solution.

        1. GaudierPuppy866

After flipping the left page, the words I got were: resol, deppart, egnever, relddem, srotiart, regna, dexev, esruc, souiruf, and erutrot. From that I have resolve, depart, ___, redeem, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, and ___. My guess is that we find words from the flipped ones, and then use those words in the crossword. Nice job finding the discrepancy between the pages AJ KRAYZEE.

          1. GaudierPuppy866

Update: Found some more words: resolve, depart, endeavor, redeem, ___, ___, deceive, ___, ___, and ___.

          2. GaudierPuppy866

None of the words I found (like resolve) fit into the crossword, but they must have some significance.

  169. I just have to put this out there, it’s most likely nothing. In each voyage we have had to find a Rung that pointed to a direction, the “H” could technically be considered a Rung.

  170. Looking over the picture of the chest and keeping in mind “account for every coin” 2 of the coins in the picture Dont have a symbol on them, and 1 has a skull

    1. Also. What’s the significance of the picture on all the twitter account of pirates playing cards? Was it for one of the previous codes?

  171. Celian Levain

I mentioned two days before that AFORECLOUD is another twitter account with another riddle…we´ve to wait until our comments show up here but it seems the mods didn´t even read them, it´s not mentioned in this article….so i move to reddit again to help solving the puzzle there, feels better there because they listen it seems.

    1. the aforecloud twitter account is a fake.
they would have listed it with the other accounts of H”s with his last tweet if it were a legit site needed for the puzzle.

    2. Chris Dohaniuk

Dude, look up. In the Hseesall tweet, only use the official source, it’s a fake account someone made.

  172. The wordsearch is mirrored.
If you look at the other puzzles you see the papers are shaped the same way except the word search one this one is mirrored.
Which means the words are probaly correct but the pig pen symbolys we get out of it are actually mirrored and so give us diffrent letters/a diffrent word out of it.

So instead of THWODDLNFR we get UHWMOOJNP out of it.

no clue what to do with that new solution but maybe someone out there has an idea.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

The page on the right for the crossword is not the one that is mirrored, it is the one to the left. If you look at the other pages for the other riddles, you will see that the tears match up with the page to the right. I think that we need to invert the words we got on the left page. I got resol, deppart, egnever, relddem, srotiart, regna, dexev, esruc, souiruf, and erutrot. From that I have resolve, depart, endeavor, redeem, ___, ___, deceive, ___, ___, and ___ (___ is a placeholder for an unknown word). None of these words have shown up in the crossword, but there must be some significance to them (unless I am wrong and something else on the left page is mirrored).

  173. So I haven’t had time to explore this yet but figured I’d post here and see if anyone can do something with it. Below is the word search with the x’s circled. I’m wondering if we overlay on the map (from.rge four square cipher specifically) if it matches up with anything. Each X also corresponds with a missing letter and the word search is an 18 by 18 square. Meaning each X has a letter and a number associated with it which is what is used for coordinates in SoT. https://imgur.com/gallery/vGWo979

    1. Chris Dohaniuk

Doesn’t work due to the maps squares being 13 down. Instead try the crossword Xs or the map on the chest.

  174. GaudierPuppy866

Here is a summary of the newest lead for the crossword.

The Facts: Some perceptive pirates noticed that the tears for the two pages for the crossword did not line up, and that one was mirrored. If you look at the other riddles, you will see that all the pages are the same, with the exception of the left page of the crossword, which is reversed from right to left.

The Speculation: When you invert the words we got from the left page, you get resol, deppart, egnever, relddem, srotiart, regna, dexev, esruc, souiruf, and erutrot. Some of these words resemble other words (e.g. resol = resolve, deppart = depart, ect.). However, I have not found any of the words they resemble in the crossword.

  175. The word search page has three very distinct breaks in the faint square outline that frames each page, along the upper/mid right side. I only see it on the word search page. It almost looks like it might line up with the criss-crossing lines on one/all of the map square pages

    1. One interesting new one…Overlay the new clue “I see you…” with the crossword puzzle. The backgroup/edges are identical and this is how we are meant to use the new clue. The only difference between the two backdrops is the watermark on the new clue…See my previous post on that.

So the words overlap the crossword very intentionally, and the “I” now looks like an arrow pointing to the five lines of text above it, which is the subject of the next line the crossword “Find Ten Thoughts Of Above All Themed in Disgust” This has been done previously in prior posts, but going both line by line and diagonally, we can get 10 words…These are different than answers to the riddle mostly…But we will end up with 10 words and then what?  First letters could be a new cypher to try…SoT trying to tell us the answer is in these 10 words..we just need to figure them out and what to do with them.

Also interesting is the Signature “H” is lower (more spaces) than in previous notes…And lines up right below the “X” in SIXS in the crossword puzzle. If we assume in this context is is Sins, I think it fits with the overall context here as many of the words in this puzzle are associated with Sin…7 deadly sins?

  176. Just wanting to post an idea here since everyone is searching for a word that would fill in the 4th clue on the cipher, according to the H’s Tweet, “Delivers you letters essential to read, this final control is the last that you’ll need.” and then the latest tweet from SOT was of the Treasure chest and says someones watching, zoom in and you see a skeleton in the barrel with the barrel hat, all part of Servants of Flame set, and in the lore its “The Servant” that delivers the important letters to people….. Just saying it seems we may be looking for Jr. or a Reaper. Which could make sense…. anyways just a thought, let me know what y’all think!

  177. I’m starting to believe the comment in the Washedrobot Twitter account is a code for the 4 square cipher it states that delivering the essential letters ect. I want to say that is H but it isn’t working I have put it in the last grid but I might not be putting in the complete statement like we used for the OUTCAST, TWOFACED, and GRUDGE I think this will solve the word search puzzle. Thoughts?

  178. GaudierPuppy866

When I looked at the “ten thoughts of above, all themed in disgust” line, I noticed the words from the left page of the crossword. There are ten of them and they all refer to malicious thoughts or actions. Perhaps these words have multiple uses? I know I only gave one example, and the words I mentioned are not necessarily all of above, but it may be worth looking into. Perhaps the ten words are synonyms?

  179. I just putting this here from the crossword

beware the acid rages scour vent an x employ a fury engage gloater spur greeds down fall basest(ugly) jealousy find ten thoughts of above all themed in disgust time make dead cheats ousted relic soul traix(could mean taxi) posters of the deep ruffians mostly a deplossur(deep loser???) ricketty ship have you lasted our or sensed to x i c seas i x s ye heart serving part tho u ready taxed gold for they are hex a pods and rottenly vicious

  180. Might mean nothing but there’s a phrase in the wordsearch “Find Ten Thoughts Of Above” and above every “x” there’s a vowel – IUAOIE in order from top to bottom

  181. Or you need to figure out a letter in x’s place… Then get a six-letter word… Then bang your head against the wall in frustation

  182. GaudierPuppy866

I have put together a grouping of the phrases based on the interpretations people have posted. This is something of a summary:

Note: I added a few words to some of the groups.

    BEWARE THE ACID RAGES

AN XTRA IX DEPURS (pursed)(dupers)? Maybe the ‘six’ is part of it too since it doesn’t really fit the phrasing?

  184. AFORECLOUD is a twitter account that has some Xs and Os in the bio.. which if you translate it with braille says TAVERN

  185. GaudierPuppy866

Has anyone found any connection between the words on the left page of the crossword and the words on the right? The words on the right page can go together in so many different ways that it seems there must be some correlation between the right and left pages that can help us narrow it down.

    1. I’ve tried so many things…letter elimination between both pages is my next thing.Word search has 324 letters, I count 399 on the riddle page.

  186. I believe the line IXPosters of the deep refers to the website with the 9 playing cards that are images of posters of the deep.

    1. Really interesting…Did we every use those cards except for the 6 scratches in puzzle 2…The cards have some differences.

  187. I created a program to run through the crossword looking for words in the English dictionary that match the pigpen cipher.
    fudge (13,2) U
    hotly (14,8) U
    peers (18,8) U
    curse (2,2) T
    negro (3,2) T
    rheas (14,4) T
    naans (13,5) V
    ceder (7,9) V
    anger (10,1) W
    belts (1,5) S
    hared (5,7) S
    theta (1,7) G
    memes (3,8) G
    pasta (16,8) G
    terry (1,7) I
    never (8,2) I
    adage (13,3) I
    lease (5,4) I
    state (18,8) I
    rater (8,10) I
    ruses (6,12) I
    sushi (17,12) I
    vexed (14,16) R
    enter (2,6) A
    deans (9,8) A
    treed (15,10) A
    surat (4,12) A
    sires (8,15) J
    taxis (10,16) A
    emile (2,6) C
    fiche (13,6) C
    silas (8,11) C
    loser (8,13) C
    trait (16,13) L
    dread (14,6) C
    revenge (6,4) H
    meddler (7,7) D
    trapped (16,9) D
    furious (1,9) O
    traitor (16,13) O
    torture (4,16) F
    traitors (16,13) N

      1. The letters at the right are the pigpen cipher letters that you get when you highlight the words on the crossword. I also included the coordinates, with the top left being (1,1) so you could find them on your own

  188. The use of “VExED” from the crossword doesn’t sit right with me since it uses a lowercase x where in every other case, the ‘x’ is the dot for the pigpen cypher.

Could it be a false positive and that’s why AFORCLOUD isn’t getting us anywhere? If every lowercase ‘x’ is meant to be a dot in the cypher, then it could meant there’s a second false positive symbol in there as well.

I can’t, however, find a better answer to the riddle than “VExED,” nor can I make sense of other words around those ‘x’s.

    1. I’ve had the same thought and the same problem finding anything better. Now sure on what to do with this though.

    2. GaudierPuppy866

I think vexed is correct. If you were to put a pigpen rune around it without using another x, your answer would have to be yeeai, iaeey, vicad, daciv, aeiag, or gaiea.

  189. Minecraftcars77

We have to put the words in order. The symbols on the page that are the circle with the triangles. They have an order. In fact it even shows us in the message where H says, “Find me…”

  190. Thought I might throw out if aforecloud is right then it means before a cloud which could be interpreted as the kraken, because a kraken spawns before the new event cloud?

  191. If Aforecloud is right, afore means before so what comes before a cloud in game, a kraken. It’s a possible interpretation since a kraken does spawn before the new event cloud,

  192. Has anyone tried plotting the routes from the voyages on the map? If you connect the dots, it looks similar to some of the constellations

    1. right but in the last hint they gave they told us to look specifically at the 4 square cipher pages, the word search and the riddle that went with it.

  193. There is a new image on SoT YouTube page of the OG crew and a map of smugglers bay with an X and holding a gold key. It feels too on the nose…

    1. so hear me out, when looking at the crossword traitors makes the pigpen symbol N but what if the answer were singular like traitor which would change N to O, furthermore what would be the point of the first page if we weren’t using the letters in order of the sentences there would be no point as we can see ten or so words that are in pigpen so instead of reading them left to right why not use the words in the order of the sentences.

  194. I have an answer. There seems to be nothing but words in the word search. But if you look carefully there’s only TWO Xs’ in it. Maybe that’s a clue.

    1. There are 6 X’s. That is a clue, but we have yet to figure out how to use it besides the words we have already found.

  195. Bestfreestylist

The word Search is the issue. To many idea it clouds our own judgement. Like line number 2. Captured pages inside, a broken trade. Fiche is Short for microfiche? It’s in the word search. A list of all the words used are in the comments. Just have to have the right ones I guess.

    1. LDHDNWRTOF seems like the logical order to me too: the order of the clues.

The way they got the THWODDLNFR order was going across the top on the word search page, then across the middle, then the third line, then the fourth. Of course, if you’re trying to go left to right, up and down, it could just as easily be WTHDODLNFR, since that would give priority to which lines come first at the top.

I think we either got the order wrong, or the search needs to be solved differently (some equivalent of mirroring the page, for example), we don’t use the Four Square cipher, the embedded Pigpen in the search is a red herring (doubtful), or something else.

I *do* think, however, that we got the words of the clues right, since all the riddles make perfect sense once you figure out the puns.

    2. GaudierPuppy866

If you read the pigpen runes as the appear in the word search from left to right, top to bottom, you will get THWODDLNFR.

      1. Incorrect, the very first line is letter W then T then H followed by D which is also higher than O then another D. So from top to bottom, left to right it is WTH DOD LNFR.

  196. GaudierPuppy866

At this point, I think we need another hint from Rare. There are tons of ways to put together the clues for the word search, so until someone gets lucky, It seems we are going to be using the process of elimination for the word search.

  197. There is a very small group of this community… And honestly every game community… That feels entitled over cosmetics and such. For example when Rare announced they were bringing back old seasonal cosmetics this small, toxic, vocal minority trolled the hell out of the devs until they caved in and decided not to bring back all the cosmetics only the worst ones. As if seasonal cosmetics are hard to earn.

Point being I imagine this very same small group of elitists might have already solved it but they are keeping it to themselves because they want to be the only ones in the world to have gotten the cosmetics and real world prizes. As there is only 1-1st place, 10 – 2nd place and 100 – 3rd place real world rewards. And hopefully the 1st place person also gets a copy of the 2nd and 3rd place rewards because why not.

So either it has been solved so Rare doesnt feel the need to give more clues and the people who solved it are gate keeping the solution. Or they meant to have it be vague so it would be so hard to solve that they might not have to deliver on any of the prizes. Note they never showed us the actual physical items. If they were certain there would be a winner and they would have people to give the things to they would have produced them already and had the physical objects to show off. Certainly the 1st and 2nd place rewards would have been done. Because even if they didnt have winners it could be a cool thing to have in a higher ups office. So Tin foil hat this whole event was just a con to get people to buy merch. I guess we will see. They might give another hint Friday to give us the weekend to solve it then it will be a mad rush in game to try and get one of the 100 3rd place prizes. guranteed the person who figures it out 1st (if they are even going to share it) will do the voyage himself 1st to gurantee the big prize then give the answer to 10 friends for the 2nd place before making it public. Or if a PvE discord figures it out they will just take all the prizes before posting the info publicly

    1. I’m pretty sure it shows up in the game when someone has solved it and done the in-game quest. I remember people saying (in the comments here) they saw the third key, for example, in the chest at the Gold Hoarder’s, a little before it was widely known that anyone got it. Then the code was announced here right after that. So it seems that no one has solved it yet.

As for Rare, I think they’re trying to not take too much attention away from their pretty big announcement yesterday that they’re doing Monkey Island tall tales. I imagine small hints will be coming soon. We still have about ten days to solve it (and they may even extend it if needed). It would be terrible for them if no one solved it.

  198. Let’s take a step back and reevaluate this thing. 1st 3 puzzles are solved, giving us @Hseesall and the letter associated with that account. Puzzle 4 (word search) has yet to be solved and likely gives additional info needed to interpret H’s letter. The map has yet to be used, but does overlay the image of the chest based on the matching symbols. We likely need a point of reference for the directions in the letter. The crossword-like clues with the word search appear correctly interpreted and those answers can be found in the word search. It’s been thought the words form pig-pen letters based on the shapes and x’s, but those letters haven’t proven useful so far. These puzzles are supposed to get harder, so why the extensive use of a pigpen cipher since the first quest? Seems too easy to constantly lean on the pig pen when other ciphers or clues could be used. Othe puzzles have taken us to bitly, Google maps, what3words, Spotify, etc. This puzzle has yet to do that. So far all we’ve been given is another twitter account. More importantly, if the pigpen letters are the intended solution, why can words like revenge and torture be spelled in numerous other configurations in their spots within the search? Even vexed can be spelled in another configuration, negating the pigpen symbol. This word search has no rules; forwards, backwards, turns – not straight solutions as typically done in a word search. The grid itself even spells out words and phrases instead of being randomized letters as word searches usually are. This has to be intentional, either to mislead us or make the solution more difficult. We’ve been told we have everything we need, we just have to reorient the way we’re looking at it. We can do this!

    1. GaudierPuppy866

It is possible to divide the phrases into ten groups based upon what they refer to. It is also possible that these groups could point to which combinations are used for the words on the left page. Regrettably, this is all theoretical. There are few definite facts for the word search that would indicate how to find the solution.

      1. I figure people way smarter than me are working on it so if they cant figure it out how the heck could i. I spent about 30 mins looking at some of it but all I can think of is how OUTCAST doesnt make sense for that square anyway since you cant have the same letter twice. So thats about all i can think of. I imagine they have enough clues to possibly figure it out but keeping 1 major clue held back till the end for the sake of people who dont have a lot of time and might want to try and solve it so that even the unemployeed people living rent free at home with 18 hours a day to mess around online would still struggle to solve it until that final clue comes out. Though obviously they made it too hard. Or there arent as many people working on this as one would think. Me personally I wrote off the event the second it was announced due to the poor method of delivering info as per usual. The youtube videos made it sound like there was just the grand prize. then the even starts and theres 10 runner up prizes and 100 3rd place prizes but no in game cosmetics. Then youtube says theres some sails you can unlock if you do every step of the mystery. Ok well i have enough sails dont care about that. Then week 4 starts and i login and see theres a skull and coin trinket for the ship we can unlock as well. Where/when were these announced?

I wrote off this whole event because there wasnt anything cosmetic to unlock in game. Unless all the negative feedback had them slap these cosmetics together after the event started. So i did part1-3 over the weekend then tried to make some guesses at part 4 but seeing all the work people put in upto this point and how that stuff was way beyond anything i would have come up with I think a lot of people are just waiting for others to come up with the answer.

  199. Idk if anyone else has come across this but apparently there is a way to get the banana stuff now since the mystery started. I haven’t tried it myself so I cannot definitively say it works but will post the link. There are locations you have to go to to get the cosmetics. I’m at work but I wonder if those locations are related to this? https://youtu.be/geRo-2GQvK8

    1. There was an exploit a while back that allowed people to give them every cosmetic in the game without having to actually do any of the prerequisites. So either that is the case here or the person was able to give himself just those specific cosmetics but consider they were for another 1 time winner event I doubt Rare would cheapen that. Especially after caving to like 15 people crying about them trying to bring back all the season cosmetics for doubloons. Now apparently they are just going to put them in the cash shop instead lol. But next you will see them saying you can unlock the Loot & Lore sails which was given to 1 fun streamer who ran a little gameshow boat in SoT where he would get a bunch of treasure and have you compete with another crew to see who won it all. Sadly he quit the game after getting the sails. Probably made Rare reluctant to waste their time on streamers like that again. Basically troll account theres a few people saying it didnt work then a flood of bots or other troll friends claiming it does. Apparently despite wanting to waste lots of other peoples time he didnt want to spend 5 more minutes making a fake in game toast saying he unlocked the cosmetic like we see when we unlock stuff like the Sea Dogs lantern from the last mystery

  200. Did anyone else notice in that in the word search, if you look at it up and down and not side to side, you will find many times where the same letter repeats itself.

  201. The comments are going away from ways to solve this, to what ifs, and so forth. I’m in the same boat. I have tried so many different formulas, options, scenarios, and it’s just overwhelming. I don’t think naturally how these clues were made to begin with, so for me to come up with the answer is far fetched. Honestly, and I hope RARE reads this, but I’ve moved on to Diablo 4 and will just watch until someone solves it, then go peacefully and do the last quest, and get my accomplishments. This has been fun, but not that fun. I love SOT because of the pirate game play, sailing to find gold, and the thrill of treasure hunting, IN THE GAME. Finding clues on social media, which I hate to begin with, and then trying to figure out somebody’s else mindset, is not fun and I have no willingness to try harder anymore. Best of luck to those that love word games and puzzles and challenges. I appreciate you guys and gals for figuring this stuff out.

    1. Alright, so we’ve got RARE, SOT, and IN THE GAME as the capitalized words to work with…Anyone got any ideas on what this could mean!?!?!?!

      *le eyeroll*

    2. Maybe D4 will be playable when they figure out end game and stop doing massive nerfs. Granted they are needed but the size of them are huge. So untested. But Diablo is a censored word on the rare forums so maybe there is a clue there. We cant say diablo or crap because they are bad? even though trying to say X makes me feel crappy is the nice way of saying the bad word lol. When your game is made for children…

    3. The truth is, no one has figured it out yet and I can prove it… Just go into any gold accumulator and see the 3 keys in the chest, but the little chest above still locked!

  202. so hear me out, when looking at the crossword traitors makes the pigpen symbol N but what if the answer were singular, like traitor which would change N to O, furthermore what would be the point of the first page if we weren’t using the letters in order of the sentences there would be no point as we can see ten or so words that are in pigpen so instead of reading them left to right why not use the words in the order of the sentences.

    1. I thought of this, but “traitors” works because the puzzle is pretty consistent with plural and singular. It’s “those who betray.” If it were “traitor,” they would have written something like “this betrayer.”

    2. Doesn’t work either way, the clue was “a choice(or) in qualities/traits) so the S needs to be there for it to be ‘traitORs’. Standard Cryptic Crossword stuff, the answers we have are all correct. There’s just something else we’re missing

  203. Just read though this whole thread, what have I done with my life. Just a couple things that haven’t been said:

“include EVERY coin” – There are 123 coins on that page.

When H says “everything you need is right here” I wondered if he meant on that actual page/message…Like, the word or letters are actually on that one page. It did arrive last. I’ve been playing with that a bit.

I’ve done a bunch of those Escape Room board games to think the four answers to the four clues are all symbols….and the symbols are on the image of the chest. Once they are identified, I feel like it will create an X marks the spot maybe, right on that image.

The “word find” – Has anyone found all the words, then looked at what remains when those words are blacked out? Classic puzzle mechanism.

    Enjoy!

    1. Good stuff. I even downloaded the images and looked at the metadata, thinking something would be there, but alas, no. I’ll play with your ideas some.

  204. If/when we find the 4th clue, then what? Do we plug that into the four square cipher? What decode word would we use?

    1. Chris Dohaniuk

I think once we have the other word for the word search we take all 4 words from each of the coin pages and plug them into the 4 square and then input the OG pigpen letters for a new word to be formed. To be where H is.

  205. I got excited when I put the pig pen letters from the word search (in alphabetical order) into a Vigenère cipher and used the key “H sees all,” because it gave me WLBDTNDGME, because it looked like the ending might spell “endgame.” It ended up being nothing, but I still felt like it was the most I’d accomplished in days. 🙂

  206. So i was noticing on the word search the x’s seem smaller like lower case what if rare did that for a reason maybe like changing that letter x to another letter to form a different word like i noticed a few of them for example IxPOSTER if you change the letter x to M it would spell out IMPOSTER also like TRAIx change the letter x to say an L or T spells TRAIL or TRAIT or PAxE change the x to G or C like to spell PAGE or PACE and then take the letter’s that where changed for the x’s and might spell out something maybe a new hint or word

  207. So i was noticing on the word search the x’s seem smaller like lower case what if rare did that for a reason maybe like changing that letter x to another letter to form a different word like i noticed a few of them for example IxPOSTERS if you change the letter x to M it would spells out IMPOSTER also like TAxED change the letter x to say an M or P spells TAMED or TAPED or PAxE change the x to G or C like to spell PAGE or PACE and then take the letter’s that where changed for the x’s and might spell out something maybe a new word

    1. Your definitely on to something, just like the poster puzzles where we had to change symbols to letters, if we keep searching with your theory we can definitely get closer to solving it 👌🏻

  208. if you look at the word search closely you can see that there are sentences in them but some of them dint makes sense.
And i think the x’s are missing letters but im not 100% sure

  209. Has anyone just read the whole word search as if it was a letter? I replaced the “x” to what I thought the letter might be to make a proper “pirate tongue” word.

“Beware the acid rages scour vent an[d] employ a fury engage gloater spur greeds downfall basest jealousy find ten thoughts of above all themed in disgust time make dead cheats ousted relic soul tra i[m]posters of the deep
ruffians mostly a dep loss ur ricketty ship have you lasted out or sensed to[x]ic seas i[n]s ye heart serving part thou ready ta[x]ed gold for they are hexapods and rottenly vicious”

My thought is Kraken or maybe the actual name of the kraken from the Tall Tale? or if there is an actual name for the Kraken?

    1. The simple word? “Find”? They said to “find me”. On the puzzle, Downfall is above, and Above is below it. The puzzle says “and what word comes afore this word”. Funny how afore is much like “afourcloud”. Anyway, afore = before. So before “Find”, is Jealousy, or Lousy. I’m working with that to see if anything fits.

  210. Curly Parmesan

The new tweet says to search for a word, and then what comes before it. If you flip the word search (based on the flipped paper) you can find the word ‘Cirrus’ on line 12 (a type of cloud). Though the letters PIHSYTTEK which come before it doesn’t do much in the four square cipher…

    1. Sol, which means sun, is before cirrus on the left if the page is unflipped, still not sure if it fits anywhere though. Sun vault is on Ahen Reaches

  211. The new letter says to find what comes “afore” this “simple word.” If the word is, indeed, “cloud,” then I’m not sure what this means (if anything), but you can sort of find the word “cloud” in the word search.

On the “loss ur ricketty ship” line, find the “C” in the middle. Then SW to “L,” S to “O,” NW to “U,” and SW to “D.”

    1. Someone elsewhere pointed out that H’s words “Look!” and “Easy!” are also found surrounding the word “cloud.” Along, of course, with “cirrus” and “sol.”

  212. Bestfreestylist

They literally give us the clue. He said look for a simple word. What comes afore this word. Ummm AFORE comes before CLOUD. So is cloud the 4th cipher code? Now he said figure out the connection between symbols, map, and that specific paper. Probably the coins and the NESW letters of the start of each sentence.

  213. GaudierPuppy866

Some big takeaways I had from H’s note were this:

The first letter of each line contains one direction, whether or not said letter is capitalized is irrelevant, and no other words in the line refer to a direction (at least not consistently).Punctuation does not have anything to do with the letter, or does not form a pattern that is consistent throughout the note. The number of letters in each line is significant, if you compare the two notes, you will see that the number of letters for every line matches. I am guessing that this is the length you go in each direction. For example, line 1 is 8N, line 2 is 6W, ect (I was not expecting that given how much emphasis was placed upon the coins). I further simplified these directions to 14E, 17N. This gives us a 12×9 grid on the bottom right side of the map to search for starting places, and a 12×9 grid on the upper left side of the map to search for ending places. The coins are exactly the same, so I assume the number, position, and color of the coins is significant.Regarding the word search puzzle, afore seems to be correct, but cloud does not. I looked into the word search a little on my own and found it interesting that many phrases could be grouped into groups of three, on a hunch, I grouped them into groups of three and got seven groups:BEWARE THE ACID RAGES.
    SCOUR, VENT, AND EMPLOY
    A FURY

    ENGAGE A GLOATER,
    SPUR GREEDS DOWNFALL:
    BASEST JEALOUSY.

    FIND
    TEN THOUGHTS OF ABOVE,
    ALL THEMED IN DISGUST.

    TIME MAKE DEAD CHEATS
    OUSTED RELIC SOUL TRAPS
    IMPOSTERS OF THE DEEP,

    RUFFIANS MOSTLY.
    ADAPT TO THE
    LOSS OF UR RICKETTY SHIP

    HAVE YOU LASTED OUT OR
    SENSED TOxIC SEA SINS
    YE HEART SERVING PART

    THOU ART READILY TAxED GOLD,
    FOR THEY ARE HExAPODS
    AND ROTTENLY VICIOUS

Interestingly enough, if you take the total number of letters for afore and Horace, it falls seven letters short of the number of letters required for the cipher we used to find the HSeesAll account (for those who do not know, the cipher requires to 3×3 grids of letters, or 18 letters). There is little chance of this being a coincidence.
These are all the things that were obvious to me, there are probably many more big hints that I missed. I will look into this further.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Edit: Edit: The number of words in each line for the HSeesAll puzzle is significant, not the letters. Also, the sixth group is actually made up of two lines:

      RUFFIANS MOSTLY ADAPT TO THE
      LOSS OF UR RICKETTY SHIP

    2. the break down is good but you corrected all the Xs into the letters they should have been in order to make a proper word. Those Xs were clues to solve the pig pen in the image above with all the blue lines drawn on it. The Xs were the pigpen dots.

  214. So I’m thinking we follow the directions we get from the note and use them to find a word in the wordsearch. The word we find in the word search is the code word. The part I am stuck on is where to start. Cause I am not seeing cloud or Horace in the wordsearch.

    1. User named Bonavoxmac said that the word may be cirrus, which is a type of cloud. It is spelled backyards in the word search. The word before cirrus (afore) is kettyship.

  215. GaudierPuppy866

It seems like some people are trying connect the symbols, map and HSeesAll note. As a reminder, the new note mentioned finding the answer to the word search before solving the rest. In other words, we probably need to find the solution to the word search before we can make said connections.

  216. what ive noticed so far is that the current 3 answers found from previous puzzles are all ingame constellations (monarch=sea queen, singing snake, and proud eagle). This keeps me thinking that the answer could be another constellation.

    1. The Crossword: aforecloud is right. We had this a few days ago and didn’t see it…CYRRUS is a type of cloud. What is afore it…spelt backwards so before it is KETTY SHiP. This matches the previous clue where the overlay had “here” right on top of “ship”

Ketyship back into cypher is AHONETLGUY

      THA LONE GUY?

      1. Perhaps the lone guy refers to the constellation of great warrior as he also has ties to the sea queen and singing snake constellation.

  217. Is the order of the word search wrong? Should it be in the order that the sentences are? Is this why they said the word that comes afore this word in the newest hint?

    1. if google is right afore means before x2 basically. The example google gave is afore yesterday. since yesterday is the day before then afore would be yester yesterday?

  218. Chris Dohaniuk

Has anyone fully solved the word search? Like maybe see if it leaves letters out that might make a single word? Or looked for any other angled words akin to the pigpen cipher letters? Or maybe you have to spell look or cloud using pigpen letters utilizing certain words in the word search?

    1. The letters not used are ADEPIxS… I used the x as a wild letter in an anagram search and got quite a few relevant words…

  219. So the coins are supposedly important but they also have some colored and some not which you wouldnt do without purpose. But what does that even mean? I like how all the notes are insulting us for not being able to figure it out when the clues are vague as hell. Are the dark coins worth 1 normal coin? 2? 5? 10? Are the coins just supposed to be braille? Or if we cut out the middle of the image and just look at the coins and draw them as a QR code then scan it?

    1. I’m not at all sure, but I suspect the coins represent words and maybe dark or light represents vowels or consonants. I’ve been trying to match it to shanty lyrics etc but so far no luck.

  220. So. Here it is in image form. From what others have said below, cloud refers to cirrus. In the wordsearch that means KETTYSHIP is where we start from. I start in red then switch to green cause it double backs on itself (directions are using first letter of each sentence in the note with the coins along the border). Which gives us JEALOUSY.

    Now.

I can put it in the 4 square cipher but I’m not 100 percent sure on what text to decrypt.

    Thoughts?

    https://imgur.com/gallery/5EiOVpN

    1. This must be it, or some variation of this. Also, on the other clue where he said “Find me”, jealousy is right next to “find”. Below Find, it has “above”, and above find, it has “Downfall”, so the puzzle is pointing to “Find”. Maybe I’m looking too much into it, but there are clues there. So back to Jealousy. I think this is on track, but I’m not sure what to do with that word. The four square cipher does not use the letter “J” in finding AFORECLOUD, so that throws up an error. My mind is so tired.

  221. and before anyone asks, I already tried these:

    1. J34L0U5Y
    2. J34LOUSY
    3. J3AL0U5Y
    4. J3ALOUSY
    5. JEA10U5Y
    6. JEA10USY
    7. JEAL0U5Y
    8. JEALOUSY
    9. J34L0USY
    10. J3AL0USY
    11. JEA1OU5Y
    12. JEA1OUSY
  222. One thing that confuses me is the seeming randomness of some of these puzzles. For example, shouldn’t the words you insert into the pigpen puzzle (that got us “H Sees All”) be MONARCH, HORACE, and EAGLE? Unlike what was apparently the “real” answer (MONARCH, EAGLE, SNAKE(S)), they actually fit, since the word was “SNAKE” not “SNAKES.” And now we have a stray HORACE floating around, even though he was part of the puzzle that got us EAGLE.

I’m not saying these are imperfect puzzles, but… okay, I guess that *is* what I’m saying.

    1. Since Horace was left out, we get MONARCH, EAGLE, SNAKE, and and S for the horizontal pigpens. The diagonal pigpens could then be OL (finishing the word “sol”) and CIRRUS. They fit. Not sure what to do with it though.

  223. what if NWNESESENWNENE is not N W N E S E S E N W N E N E but is NW NE SE SE NW NE NE, this waystarting from K i get OULTRA

  224. Anyone else notice the wordsearch says “GEEGEEERS” or alternatively “GEEGEE” starting at the g in the 3rd row 8th column. And one of the last clues that came out hinted towards missing something in the crossword. Not saying it’s the whole solution but I saw some people saying it’s not a words each but rather a passage. From what I can see I think it’s both and needs deciphering further.

  225. My thought is that for the coin parchment, it’s giving us directions to follow on the map. Each line starts with a cardinal direction, and the number of words in each line is telling us how many spaces to move. So the directions would then be this:

    N: 8 (up 8)
    W:6 (left 6, etc.)
    N: 6
    E: 8
    S: 9
    E: 4
    S: 6
    E: 4
    N: 5
    W: 2
    N: 7
    E: 3
    N: 6
    E: 3

The question then would be where the starting point is!

    1. I think it is booty isle because if you do it backwards starting at tribute peak that is where you end

  226. Has anyone tried taking the directions and doing another pigpen cipher from it like earlier? (IE: N W = up and left, N E S = up right down, etc)

It wouldn’t account for dots at all, though, and not having any diagonals is problematic.

  228. tried every combination like:

    1. 0ULTRA
    2. 0ULTR4
    3. 04ULTRA
    4. 04ULTR4
    5. 0UL7RA
    6. 0UL7R4
    7. 04UL7RA
    8. 04UL7R4
    9. 07ULRA
    10. 07ULR4
    11. 047ULRA
    12. 047ULR4

but nothing, that’s not the right word

  229. GaudierPuppy866

It seems that the simple word mentioned in the new clue refers to cloud, as we are supposed to find what comes afore the simple word. I found some things that could refer to clouds that are right in the phrases. Acid (line 1) can refer to an acidic cloud. There are two configurations of smoke (lines 10-11), which can refer to a smoke cloud. In the case of smoke, I would take whatever is behind the starting letter because the ending letter was to the right of the starting letter. If my theory is correct, we will probably have something like “Beware: Imposter, Ruffian, ect” if we go by the phrases, and “e, r, n” if we go by letters (which seems more likely). Regarding the letters, I think there are 12 of them (the cipher we used to find the HSeesAll account required 18 letters, and Horace is six letters, so I assume we need 12 more. Then we will probably find something with the cipher that will give us more information on how to solve the rest of the puzzle), and that they form an anagram or a word that can not be accurately guessed with inly some of the letters. Also, some people pointed out that cirrus (line 12, surric spelled backwards) is a type of cloud, which gets us a “k” regarding the letters, and “Kettyship” regarding the phrases.

  230. Google translate of what the French guy said:

Hello, solving puzzles is complicated for me, since I don’t speak English. But I noticed when you found the words in the grid, the Xs represented the points in the Pigpen language or a cross is used as an angle and not as a point!?! Would there be an additional word to find?

  231. It’s not AFORECLOUD – it’s AFORTCLOUD – and the directions from the middle of the map land you at Skull Fort in the wilds.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

That seems like a good idea, but there are a few flaws. A4 is near sailor’s bounty, but it is not applicable to the directions the new note hinted at how to find. Therefore, I assume it has to do with the word search, and not the map. Also, afore was mentioned in the new note prior to the mention of solving the rest of the puzzle, which it stated would require the map.

  232. It might also be worth noting that kety means “ruler”. And the latest tweet from SoT mentioned Pendragon. King Arthur’s last name in some mythos is Pendragon. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  233. GaudierPuppy866

The cloud in Aforecloud does not necessarily refer to a cloud in the sky. Cloud can be used as a verb, its definition being “make or become less clear or transparent.” Interestingly enough, hide is both simplistic and can refer to cloud as a verb. Perhaps the words we seek are not all on the right page.

    1. GaudierPuppy866

Edit: Hide was the only cloud related word on the left page that I found. So if we assume hide to be the first word (and since it is on the left I assume it is), we have “A livid rage created by promises of…” as context for what to look for on the right page. Three things I noticed on the word search that can be promised are gold, relics, time, employ, and possibly heart.

      1. GaudierPuppy866

I found no cloud references near the words I mentioned, but the fact that hide can be a synonym for cloud and is a simple word is either very misleading or a clue.

  234. For a while now i’ve had this feeling that H might be Pendragon because at the begining of the mystery all that he said sounds a bit like pendragon being trapped in that picture an unjust punishment and he can see what others can’t!!

  235. BlackpowderJo

The picture with the chest with the symbols, you can make fit the map with the red angles, could that not be of any help?

  236. 14down 17across X = TORIXSART (traitors)
Something to do with the 8 letters surrounding the 6 x’s ?
    Hexapods(8 letters) are six legged

    Find ME theMEd in disgust

My brain hurts the answers got to be in there

    1. That’s where I am. I’ve resorted to just typing in what ever my brain connects into the puzzle code box.

  237. So I took a pen and paper and took the first letter from the last notes and just drew lines in those directions, and surprisingly you get a symbol that’s a lot of the skeleton symbol for “Lord”

  238. BlackpowderJo

Some parchments with the clues have the coin symbol with the a specific direction, perhaps there is to solve them in the order signed on the first parchment?

  239. Made a sentence using the word count in the clue and the directions by counting the words on the pages with the triangles
pages washed to guide, scurried constellations, scurried peak, dead beat up turncoats, washed turncoats.

    so in game cule? Idk

  240. Spartan Of Vale

Interestingly enough, and not even sure if it’s relevant, but the two notes from H with the coins on them are also reversed similarly to the word search page.

If you look at how the first note is oriented and then compare the torn sections on the edges of the page, the second note is both mirrored as well as flipped. Again, have no idea if this will help or anything, but it certainly can’t be a coincidence.

  241. Is there something with the answers and the triangles with the constellation chest? It looks like monarch eagle and snake are near < symbols. Do we orient them based on the arrow hints to make the diagonal to our custom pigpen Cypher?

Or do we follow the constellation guide on the chest now? I'm trying to look at this from a different angle

    1. Chris Dohaniuk

So I thought maybe combining all arrow solutions as the 4 square and then re-running H sees all through it. It doesn’t work.

    1. Starting at Plunder Outpost, as shown in that link, and following the directions given in both the riddle posts with the coins (N8,W6,N6,E8,S9,E4,S6,E4,N5,W2,N7,E3,N6,E3) will bring you to the north side of the Shores of Gold, Tribute peak

  242. Chris Dohaniuk

So question, above hexapod is an X in the word search. Is there a reason that every other X has a symbol but that one isn’t a symbol? To me it doesn’t make sense.

  243. GaudierPuppy866

Here is a summary of H’s new note:

To start, all the coins and the starting word of each phrase stayed the same. Each line also had the same number of letters. Regarding what was actually mentioned in the note, it stated that we should look for a simple word, and then see what comes afore it before solving the rest of the puzzle. Since the last few hints have been directing us to the word search puzzle, and we have gotten Aforecloud from the puzzle so far, it seems logical to assume the “simple word” is some kind of cloud that is within the word search puzzle. We do not know if said cloud appears in varying forms or not, and it seems safe to assume that said cloud(s) will appear multiple times in the puzzle and can be referred to physically (which could include a cloud of fog, not just a cloud in the sky) and metaphorically (such as clouding one’s judgement). We also do not know how the cloud(s) and spelled out in the puzzle. Some types of clouds have been found in the crossword, although whether or not they are simple words is debatable. I myself am looking into the possibility of the cloud(s) referring to or being referred to by pigpen symbols. So far, solving the word search seems to be a matter of trial and error. Regarding the rest of the puzzle, some people have found ways to connect the symbols to the map, but no proven ways to connect the coins as well. I speculate that since Horace has yet to be used, it will be used with the solution to the word search, which will give us enough information to solve the rest of puzzle. I hope this helps, and happy puzzle solving to everyone.

    1. Perhaps “Gust” is the word we’re looking for? Wind moves clouds…before that is “Ten thoughts from above” possibly refering to the star chart?

  244. The word search to me looks like a riddle. I’m trying to take all the phrases and make a story thy makes sense with them. At this point who knows. I’m trying everything.

      1. Only if it makes a symbol. The words so far have been on a straight line, and we can’t make pigpens out of them?

        1. maybe x is the pigpen and the words around it make something. above the x, right side of x, under the x and left side of the x. There are six x total.

      2. Mr Zero Kelvin

Okay, well I’ll just give away my hunch and hope someone can use it. I believe aforecloud is correct and that the late clues are serious that there’s a simple word that’s obvious to see. I believe the “cloud” is cirrus and that the word “afore” it is RISK.

  245. I was looking for words to spin off of LOOK in the word-search. I came up with LOOK- A Lost Area. and LOOK- 4T(fied) = FORTIFIED.
Both the ALOSTAREA and FORTIFIED fit into the Pigpen Cipher we were building (if you drop the S from SNAKE(S)).

I was then using the mystery directions from the last letter (NWNESESENWNENE) to make new Pigpen letters. I tried those against the “finished” cipher and came away with “ANRAA and DNRAA”. Probably not the right answers, buy maybe there’s something in the process that’s helpful.

  246. I want to report my findings. I feel like I’m on the right track. I’ve been keeping quiet in hopes of being the winner but I’ve been stuck for a few days, combine that with I’ll be away this weekend, so I’m turning over my finding in the hope that someone can at least figure out the key. Also, sorry if I’m repeating any known info. I haven’t looked super closely though the comments, all I know is this info is not in the article.

First, the solution to the crossword is SMALLEST it is the word afore “cloud” in part 3’s letter. SMALLEST also fits the remaining 8 spots of the pigpen.

The map can be laid over the chest picture. The markings on the edge and the ‘H’ align with makings on the chest picture.

The cardinal directions from the two matching notes can be connected with each line’s word count to give us direction and distance for a route.

This route can be put on the map. (The following is when I start to become a bit more unsure) The post with the note says to count the coins so I have the route lined up on the map so that when put over the chest picture it is looping around all the coins. This route also looks right because it loops around the key on the chest.

Now the angles on the route can be turned into pigpen symbols. We can see if the symbol has a dot or not based on if there is an outpost within the angle on the map. When using the new symbols from “smallest” we can turn the symbols into: LSLSLSS

So that’s where I’m at. LSLSLSS doesn’t look like anything to me but if anyone can make something from it or check my work then please continue where I have failed.

  247. the wordsearch answer is easy apparently… discord couldn’t find anything with cirrus and sol… i tried using “find me” hint and used the ME in themed… reads ME both forwards and reverse and the word afore was THE… got gibberish… used THEM with it instead and got LEAFEM… one anagram result only… FEMALE… went down a rabbit hole and came out the other side feeling like i got gang banged in prison… if RARE are going down the woke girl power path I ended up with SUFFRAGE CLAN… But the one thing positive to throw everything on it’s head… H might be a woman… Nobody has thought of that yet…

  248. I worked a bit on the two letters with same number of words, letters and coins, the image of the chest and the word chest. Considered the fact that the coins are placed on north. East, west and south, I found a corrispondente between the coins at North and East and the number of letters of the last two lines, that start with NE. Counting the number of words/coins as degree, I looked at the constellation map finding that the Scarab was the object. Plus, in the image of the chest the Scarab can be found on the left if you increase the luminosity of the image. In the end, I used chat gpt to rearrange the words of the world search various times, and there’s a line speaking about hexapods (scarabs)…. I don’t know if this helps, but I am convinced that the solution is near (I already tried every code with letters and numbers including scarab/s, beetle/s and hexapod/a but that doesn’t work in the site and neither in the cipher)

  249. I think we are all assuming the above information is correct. Wondering if some of the solutions above are wrong or incomplete and thats what is holding everyone up. the aforecloud seems to be incorrect and everyone is hyper focused on it because it was posted here as meaningful. it comes from submitting the incomplete foursquares info but it happened to poop out something resembling words. Also all the solutions here with Zs or Xs on the end make it seem like those are potentially a bit incorrect or the Zs and Xs are punctuation markers but they seem out of place.

Curious how rare is going to handle this if no one solves it. either they left out vital clues, were too vague or tinfoil hat they never wanted anyone to win and this was just to sell merch.

But with reddit doing the blackout thing for a few days and now captaincy week where you are rewarded for playing the game instead of scratching your head trying to solve something seemingly unsolvable… I guess my point is will the extend the event (if they really wanted us to solve it) especially with the game and the internet both throwing up road blocks to us trying to solve

    1. Yeah the 4-square cipher doesnt make any sense cause they left out the “J”. Not sure if I am missing something.

  250. I noticed that the 4 twitter accounts related to the the 4 square cypher grid solutions all have two word account tags, IE pairs of letters.
    SkullCannonbal: SC
    RockedDiet: RD
    FrostLocker: FL
    WashedRobot: WR

Since 4square ciphers require pairs of letters I found this to be too much of a coincidence.

(I’m not including HSeesAll as that seems to act more as a main account, 3 initials, and is sensical with it’s wording. 3 of the other 4 acounts used their profiles to fill in the 3 grids of the 4 square, the 4th remaining untouched and it’s profile message unsolved so far.)

  251. …the solution is to find the starting location on the map, use the cardinal directions in the lines, and the number of words to indicate the distance on the map.

  252. François Manon

Nous avons jusqu’au 22 juin pour trouver la solution dernier délais sinon personne aura rien (sea of thieves)

  253. Thought I saw mentioned that one of the previous chapters of this mystery had a typo that prevented everyone from proceeding. wonder if something similar is happening here like maybe not even a typo but a dot in the wrong place etc.and even if they caught it and update the image how many of us would notice a singular dot

  254. I don’t know if it’s right but I kinda succeed to align the map with the first picture (with the blue chest) by putting one 4 of the red mark on the picture.
two corners : the symbol at the left of the eagle and the one between the boar and the boats
two midlle marks : just under the skull coin and the mark on the left chest at the left of the “sun” and on top of the other drawing

  255. New video up from H sees all. It is a video with smoke on the screen while H reveals numbers in a sequence.

    1. And all this tells us is maybe where to start? This isnt new info we have been trying to figure out the point of the coins and counting them up and this is just confirming yes this is the number of coins and it starts with the stack of 4 coins on the top of the page and goes clockwise

  256. I hope this helps but alot of this puzzle has compass directions on the parchment there are 10 coins to the north west and south hope it helps you guys. And good luck to you all

  257. I believe that the ‘x’ in the wordsearch are meant to be replaced with letters, and that should give us the word we’re looking for.

The 10th line in the wordsearch reads:

    IxPOSTERS OF THE DEEP.

If you replace the x with an M, you get IMPOSTERS OF THE DEEP

The other 5 words we need to decode are ANx, TOxIC, TAxED, IxS and HExAPODS.

    1. The word hexapod can only mean the great kraken bc it is the only thing that comes to mind that only has 6 appendages and therefore is technically despite not being an insect. Or perhaps it’s the scarab it is referring to

    2. I think I’ve decoded the words but yet to put them into any format are and/any ,tonic, tamed, its, hexapods

      1. This would be too simple. Its clear looking at the pigpen above that the Xs are dot indicators of look for a word surrounding this X the problem is the whole word search is paragraphs if you read it all its whole sentences so thinking in terms of just reading left to right would bt too simplistic compared to how complex they have made this whole thing

  258. To follow up on Lerako. I belive the hidden message attributes to the sirens and their taming of the great kraken. My reasons for this being the reference to hexapods and perhaps the use of some tonic. This could be referring to the breath of the sea flask found in sunken kingdoms. My only question is the code a sentence and is this completed sentence our awnser? I’m under 18 so I care little for the real rewards as I won’t get them ,but it appears that this lines up to well.

  259. Chris Dohaniuk

With the new tweet from H, I thought it might be a clock cipher instead of just turning numbers to letters. Wasn’t successful with the current 4 square cipher (I know they misplaced the j). An noticed the direction of the reading is:
    Top:to the left
    Right: down
    Bottom:to the left
    Left:up

Might mean carnal directions instead of NSEW and then reading direction implies an angle like:
    top:turning into NW
    Right:south East
    Bottom:south west
    Left:into another NW
Or 1 of the NW is regular cardinal directions like NSEW akin to the repeating pattern in the notes.

A then maybe the word search word was hexapod leading to crab symbol when you over lay the map and when you align the map, the crab takes the directions and leads to H. Can someone please check this.

    1. Apparently there is no misplace J? if you add a J it deletes the Z then the decoder doesnt work. and its missing J by default. perhaps theres another letter that needs to be removed if we were to add J back in but why would they move away from the sites default? the answers they are able to get without the J do feed us stuff that looks like actual results.

Another clue says look at the clues on the map. But the combined map here is in low resolution compared to the source version where theres a bunch of skulls, Xs treasure chests etc. one skull at least is even hidden under the red corners

  260. GaudierPuppy866

I have a feeling we will not know how to implement the coins at the moment. The new tweet says they come at the end. Additionally, all of the recent hints from the official sea of thieves twitter account have recommended we focus on the word search, and the second to last tweet from H mentioned solving the word search before solving the rest of the puzzle. Therefore, it seems logical to focus on the word search.

  261. GaudierPuppy866

I think I may have found a way to narrow down the possible solutions for the word search puzzle. I found it strange that the words “find me” were included on the official sea of thieves account tweet along with the word search puzzle. Why not just put the puzzle? However, after I looked at the other puzzles, I began to see a pattern. If you look at the logic and star chart puzzles, the note signed by H tells you how to solve it. If you look at the cardinal directions puzzle, which is a narrative by H, the key is in the directions. In the narrative that makes up the cardinal directions puzzle, the directions lead to where H is going, in other words, they lead to H. I found twelve H’s within the word search. If you add twelve words to HORACE, you have enough words to fill out the two grids for the custom pigpen cipher. Interesting.

  262. the clue seen today is
    4 10 3 1
    6 2 10 8
    4 2 7 10 11
    2 9 6 10 11 7

if you number the letters in TRIBUTE PEAK 1234567 891011 use the letters to translate today clue in BAIT TRAP BREAK RETAKE, this is the code to unlock the voyage

    1. RARE, you are nuts. No way any of this makes sense. What about Horace? What about “Find me”. What about aforecloud? Thanks Nacho.

      1. sad thing is i knew it had something to do with shores of gold just not where to go from there. damn

  263. Hey, Thief, here’s how you reach the solution: The AFORECLOUD is a clue for wordsearch, urging you to literally find a word that comes before the word ‘cloud’ (then Rare figured they were too cryptic and told us outright, the word was ‘look’). That word is a clue for your map to start at Lookout Point. Following the note from HSeesAll, take a direction specified by the first letter of each line in the note and move by the amount of squares equal to the amount of words in that line (N8, W6 etc.). If you made your moves right, you should end up at Tribute Peak. That is your final tool – assign a number to every character of the island’s name, starting from 1 (obviously). This is where the piles of coins on H’s note come into play: Write down every character of TRIBUTEPEAK according to the numbers defined by the piles. The order has been specified by H’s latest hint Tweet: 4(B), 10(A), 3(I), 1(T), moment of silence to signify a space bar, and so on until the end of the number array. Once you’re done, you should be left with ‘BAIT TRAP BREAK RETAKE’.
Hope I helped understand the logic.

Also, calling it now, H is going to turn out to be Hyde the Hoarder from Morrow’s Peak Outpost.

    1. What about the chest image and the map? Literally not needed? And the fact that the map overlays the image doesn’t matter either? Seems lazy compared to the previous 3 riddles. No bitly links, no need to visit any other sites, and we’re supposed to get the word “look” from that godforsaken word search. No wonder we were stumped for so long. Shame Rare had to hold our hands through the last leg of this one.

      1. Sorry to tell you this but I’m afraid that chest image really was completely useless. As far as I know, there really was no point for it being included other than being a red herring. As for the map, this is what you’re supposed to use for your journey with the cardinal directions, thought that much was clear.

      2. Everything was used, this was just a poor explanation. Let me try to explain a little better:

Solving the puzzles are explained pretty well here with the exception of the word search so I will start my explanation at that point

        Puzzle 1 – MONARCH
        Puzzle 2 – EAGLE
        Puzzle 3 – SNAKE

Now we can start the word search and solve it to get exactly what rarethief said which is AFORECLOUD. Using this you must find what is before “cloud” in the word search. CLOUD in the word search is actually CIRRUS (a type of cloud) backwards and before CIRRUS is SHIP

So our four answers are: MONARCH, EAGLE, SNAKE, SHIP

Now using the map we need to orient the red corner markings to align with the markings on the chest image. Now using the information “X marks the spot” we need to draw a line from the MONARCH to the SNAKE and a line from the EAGLE to the SHIP which gives us BOOTY ISLE as the starting location.

Now that we know where to start we can use the note with the coins. Rare thief already explained how to get the cardinal directions and distance in this article so I am going to assume you know about that already. Using that information and starting at BOOTY ISLE we arrive at TRIBUTE PEAK.

Now we use the count of the coins going in a clockwise direction and TRIBUTEPEAK as out “number to alphabet” cipher we get the answer to the entire puzzle “BAIT TRAP BREAK RETAKE”

I literally seen the answer on a comment on H’s video post and thought. No that’s not the answer. I coulda finished the voyage yesterday. lol

  265. Jenny Starveling

ok … I get how you use TRIBUTEPEAK as the key to get the code, but how did you arrive at using TRIBUTEPEAK?
