Is your pirate exhausted from all that standing and in desperate need of some proper rest? Tire no longer pirates! You can finally take a load off by taking a seat. Almost anywhere you like! Yes, even that bench in the tavern that’s been vacant for far too long!
And if putting your boots up isn’t enough, you can instead take a nap in your ship’s bed!
Season Five has created hundreds of places for our pirates to sit using the chairs, benches, rock ledges, and docks found throughout the Sea of Thieves! Not only is there an expansive range of places to sit, but you can also now sleep in any of the beds you come across.
Using this newfound ability, you can finally show that Captain’s Cabin Chair on the Galleon, who’s boss!
Sitting in Sea of Thieves
Sitting provides pirates an option to sit down in First-Person view. This First-Person view will allow for a deeper level of immersion in the Sea of Thieves and encourage more roleplaying opportunities with other pirates.
You can also switch to a Third-Person view to watch your pirate relax at the tavern table by the cozy fireplace.

How to Sit
You can now use the stools, chairs, and benches scattered across the Outposts and large islands of the Sea of Thieves. There are also more unusual spots to sit, such as jetties, clifftops, branches, and even specific places on your ship!
You can identify potential places to sit by the prompt that will appear when you get close. If you find a spot to sit, you will see a prompt to “Take a seat, “Take a moment,” or “Take in the view,” depending on the sitting spot’s position in the world.
To sit, walk up to and look at one of the applicable sitting spots. Then, interact with the prompt by holding “X” on a controller or “F” on a keyboard to sit down.

How to change your view while Sitting
Once you are sitting down, you can change the view from First-Person to Third-Person by pressing “Y” on a controller or “R” on a keyboard. Pressing the same button again will put you back in a First-Person view.
Sleeping in Sea of Thieves
Sleeping provides pirates an option to not only sleep in First-Person view but also regenerate health! Yes, while your pirate sleeps in bed, they will slowly regain any lost health. So save those bananas for another time!
How to Sleep
If sitting down isn’t restful enough, you can always try taking a nap! You can now use beds found in each of the three types of ships to sleep.
To sleep, walk up to and look at a bed. Then, interact with the prompt by holding “X” on a controller or “F” on a keyboard to sleep.
Sleeping in a bed will cause your view to fade to black as if your pirate has shut their eyes.
As you sleep, you will slowly recover any health you may have lost during your adventures! It takes about two minutes to regain your health entirely. While this is an excellent benefit of sleeping, one downside is the sounds of the world around you are harder to hear. Nearby pirates will also be able to hear you snoring!
If you have a crew member who refuses to wake up, why not try throwing a bucket of water on them! Throwing the bucket of water on them will cause them to wake up from their slumber!

So pirate, take a seat to enjoy the view, remember a moment, or watch the rest of your crew do all the work!
