The Return of the Damned Adventure is the second Adventure where the community will directly affect the outcome of Flameheart’s resurrection and change the world of Sea of Thieves forever.
Will you side with Belle to banish Flameheart and save Pendragon? Or will you side with the Servant of the Flame to resurrect Flameheart and condemn Pendragon? No matter which you choose, you’ll need to perform specific actions throughout the Adventure to add points to your side and achieve victory!
How to add points to your side
Unlike the Lost Sands Adventure, the actions you need to complete for each side are identical. The only difference between the actions is who you do them for, Belle or the Servant of the Flame.
Bewitching Dolls
To add points to your side, you’ll deliver Bewitching Dolls to Belle or the Servant. Both sides require vast amounts of energy to power their ritual and sway the fight for Flameheart their way. The energy needed is found inside the Bewitching Dolls.
So, to help Belle’s side, you must give Bewitching Dolls to Belle. Likewise, to help the Servant’s side, you must give Bewitching Dolls to the Servant.
You can randomly find Bewitching Dolls inside the cabinets, cupboards, and crates scattered around an active Sea Fort. There are at least two on every Sea Fort, with one guaranteed inside the Fortress Treasury.
You can give Bewitching Dolls to Belle or the Servant whenever you want during the Adventure. You don’t need to actively do either’s Path for them to count towards their side.
Enchanted Bewitching Dolls
Unfortunately, Bewitching Dolls by themselves contain very little energy. So, delivering a Bewitching Doll to Belle will add the lowest amount of points you can earn to her side.
However, you can boost the amount of energy inside a Bewitching Doll by enchanting it with the soul of a Soulflame Captain. More energy means more points. So, delivering an Enchanted Bewitching Doll to Belle or the Servant will add more points to their side than if you were to give them a regular Bewitching Doll.
You can sometimes find Soulflame Captains on Sea Forts. While not guaranteed to appear, if you find one, you’ll want to defeat it. Upon death, it will leave behind a soul for you to enchant a Bewitching Doll.
Boosting the energy of a Bewitching Doll doesn’t stop at Soulflame Captains. You can add more points to your Bewitching Dolls by capturing Sea Forts in your chosen side’s name!
Sea Forts
To increase the worth of a Bewitching Doll even further, you’ll want to have claim over at least one Sea Fort when handing in a doll. Each claimed Sea Fort adds more energy to a Bewitching Doll. So, the more Sea Forts that belong to Belle when you deliver the Bewitching Dolls, the more points you add! The same goes for the Servant of the Flame.
For the Sea Fort bonus to take effect, the Sea Forts must be in your side’s favor when you turn in the doll.
If you want to maximize your efforts, you could capture all six Sea Forts and then hand in an Enchanted Bewitching Dolls for the most points possible.
To capture Sea Forts, you’ll need to be doing your chosen side’s Path. So, to capture a Sea Fort for Belle, you’ll need to speak with Belle and choose the CONTINUE BELLE’S PATH dialogue option. She will then give you her Fort Flag, which you can use at the flagpoles on top of a Sea Fort once you have cleared it of Phantoms. You can use the flag as many times as you like so long as you still have her Path active.
To capture a Sea Fort for the Servant, you’ll need to speak with the Servant of the Flame and choose the CONTINUE THE REAPER’S PATH dialogue option. He will then give you his Fort Flag for you to use.
