To successfully rescue Merrick from the Sea of the Damned, you’ll need to master the Lighthouse Tower’s light beams. However, before using the Lighthouse Towers, you must remove the magical barrier blocking their entrance.
Luckily, the solution to your problem is closer than you think!
How to remove the Lighthouse Tower barrier
Each Lighthouse jetty has two unlit braziers and one lit brazier. The lit brazier is burning with the Flame of Souls. The Flame of Souls is key to gaining access to the tower!
You must collect the Flame of Souls from the lit brazier and light the two unlit braziers. The barrier will disappear as soon as you light the two unlit braziers with the Flame of Souls, and you can make your way to the top of the tower.
To collect the Flame of Souls from the brazier, equip your lantern, raise it, and collect the Flame of Souls. You will have it in your lantern until you die. If you do lose the flame, you can always get it back from any of the lit braziers around the Twisted Sea Dog Tavern.
You can find the lit brazier on the Northern Lighthouse jetty to the East. The lit brazier on the Southern Lighthouse jetty is to the North. And the lit brazier on the Eastern Lighthouse jetty is to the East.
