The mystery surrounding the Smugglers’ League continues! You’ve put in the work and gained their trust. Now, you can meet the true mastermind, the architect pulling the strings! Uncovering the truth behind this powerful figure will also reward you with the Gift of the Widow Curse!
To get started, you’ll need to go back to where it all began!
Prerequisites
Before speaking with Lottie, make sure you have already completed a handful of required Commendations. The Commendations include:
- Super Smuggler
- Clandestine Contact
- Trader of Banished Tablets
- Smuggler of Banished Keys
- Ducal Disciple
These Commendations all build on each other. To unlock the Clandestine Contact Commendation, you must have completed Super Smuggler. And to unlock the Ducal Disciple Commendation, you must have completed Clandestine Contact, Trader of Banished Tablets, and Smuggler of Banished Keys.
So, if you have Ducal Disciple, then you should be good to get started!
Speak with Low-Tide Lottie
Sail on over to Crescent Isle in The Shores of Plenty and speak with Low-Tide Lottie. You’ll find her in her Smugglers’ Hideout in the hidden storage chamber on the island. If you’ve completed the Ducal Disciple Commendation, she will have an additional dialogue option for you to choose.
If you’ve completed Ducal Disciple, you can select the last dialogue option about Duke. You will uncover that there is someone above him, someone more powerful, and they are interested in meeting you. Lottie will give you the password you’ll need to convene with them and hint at their whereabouts: Sea Dog’s Tavern.
Sea Dog's Tavern
Now that you have the password, you can set sail for Sea Dog’s Tavern at the map coordinates K-12. You won’t find this island on your Map Table. Just look for a towering stone island with a large wooden Tavern in the middle of the map.
Dock your ship and make your way up to Sea Dog’s Tavern. Just next to the large wooden doors to the Tavern is a ladder that leads to the top of the island. At the top, you’ll find a locked door surrounded by purple candles.
Interact with the door to knock and provide the password. The door will open, and you’ll find someone inside waiting for you. Speak with the mystery figure, and after the conversation ends, you will complete the Friends in High Places Commendation and unlock the Gift of the Widow curse.

The longest part of it is doing all the Smugglers’ Tide Commendations for the Super Smuggler Title. After you have that done, the rest isn’t too bad. It’s hard to say how long exactly. But yeah, look through the first 18 Smugglers’ Tide Commendations to get a feel of how much you’ll have to do. Once you have the Title, doing the Clandestine Contact and Ducal Disciple Commendations don’t take very long.
