The Pirate Lord and Captain Flameheart are no longer holding back. With each side rallying its supporters, the legendary pirates have ravaged the sea with war.
Joining either Faction will earn you gold and notoriety, but there are also rewards to acquire. The Pirate Lord offers one in particular that will surely garner him a few more supporters and will turn you into a ghost, the Ghostly Curse!
The Ghostly Curse
To get the Ghostly Curse, you must be a Pirate Legend and reach Allegiance of 100 with the Guardians of Fortune, enter The Tavern of Legends Faction Hideout, and take part in the Blessing of Athena’s Fortune ceremony.
Once inside the Faction Hideout, head to Belle and Merrick near the highest point. Interact with the prompt in front of them to receive your blessing.
During the Blessing of Athena’s Fortune, the Pirate Lord will bestow a blessing on you that transform you into a ghost. The Ghostly Curse will automatically be added to your Vanity Chest to equip and unequip as you please.
Since it is not a time-limited cosmetic, you can earn the Ghostly Curse whenever. No need to worry about how fast you’ll reach an Allegiance of 100!

Ghostly Curse Emotes
The Ghostly Curse comes with eight curse-exclusive emotes you can perform when wearing the curse.
The Ghostly Curse emotes include:
- Dance of Fortune
- Cheer of Fortune
- Clap of Fortune
- Point of Fortune
- Seat of Fortune
- Sleep of Fortune
- Wave of Fortune
- Make Friends of Fortune
How to reach Allegiance of 100
You can earn Allegiance in a couple of ways. The first way is to join the Guardians of Fortune Faction and battle other ships representing the Servants of the Flame. Winning the match will reward you with Allegiance. However, you will still earn some Allegiance if you lose, just less than if you had won.
The second way of earning Allegiance is by turning in your Faction Stash Grade. The higher your Faction Stash Grade, the more Allegiance you’ll gain when you cash out at an Outpost. You raise your Faction Stash Grade by amassing large amounts of treasure on your ship while representing the Servants of the Flame. You will increase your Faction Stash Grade with each piece of treasure you put onboard. The higher the value, the more it will progress. After you have raised your Grade to the level you want, you can vote to end fighting for the Guardians of Fortune and cash out a tiny amount of Allegiance for each Faction Stash Grade you reached. However, turning in your Faction Stash Grade is the slowest way to earn Allegiance, as you gain the smallest amount possible.
You can also earn more Allegiance by building your Streak, defeating opposing ships with a high Streak, and defending your ship with at least a level one Faction Stash Grade.
How to enter the Tavern of Legends
To enter the Tavern of Legends, speak with the Pirate Lord in the Athena’s Fortune Hideout once you have reached Allegiance of 100 with the Guardians of Fortune. He will then open a door inside his Captain’s Cabin that leads to the Tavern of Legends.
