Some of the most sought-after cosmetics in the Sea of Thieves convey an epic story about the pirate wearing them. Cosmetics such as the Legendary Cutlass or the Ancient Vault Sails, for example, tell you that the crew adorning them are seasoned veterans not to be crossed.
The infamous Fates of Fortune Ship cosmetics are no different. Decorating your ship with these fearsome cosmetics will notify everyone you encounter that you’ve sold dozens of the rarest pieces of treasure from one of the most challenging World Events the Sea of Thieves offers!
Fates of Fortune Ship Set
To unlock the Fates of Fortune Ship Set, you must complete the ‘Fortune’s Favour’ commendation. However, there is only one Grade to achieve right now, with more Grades planned for future Seasons. Since you can only reach Grade 1, you can unlock only three pieces from the set: the Figurehead, Hull, and Sails.
As future Seasons release, the Grade for the commendation will increase, and more cosmetics from the Fates of Fortune Ship Set will be available to unlock.
Fates of Fortune Figurehead, Hull, and Sails
You must complete Grade 1 of the ‘Fortune’s Favour’ commendation to unlock the Fates of Fortune Figurehead, Hull, and Sails.
As soon as you complete Grade 1, you will unlock the ship cosmetics and can purchase them from any Shipwright.
- The Fates of Fortune Figurehead costs 600,000 Gold
- The Fates of Fortune Sails costs 600,000 Gold
- And the Fates of Fortune Hull costs 400,000 Gold
Fortune's Favour Grade 1
You must hand in 30 Chests of Fortune to The Gold Hoarders to complete Fortune’s Favour Grade 1. During Season 9, you can only find a Chest of Fortune inside a Fort of Fortune vault.
Fort of Fortune
The Fort of Fortune is a rare type of World Event. Its structure is similar to the current Skeleton Fort World Event but provides a more significant challenge and holds a greater reward for those pirates brave enough to take it on.
You will know the Fort of Fortune is active by its very audible introduction. The Fort of Fortune announces its presence with a loud horn blast you can hear from anywhere on the sea.
If you miss the World Event’s arrival, look for a giant Skull Cloud in the sky. The Fort of Fortune’s Skull Cloud differs from the standard Skeleton Fort Skull Cloud with its glowing red scars, bright red eyes, and lightning flashing inside.
The chance of the Fort of Fortune appearing is scarce. But, once you find one, you will have to defeat some of the most brutal foes seen in the Sea of Thieves to access its vault and recover the Chest of Fortune!
