One of the many commendations you can complete during the Captains of the Damned Tall Tale is the Treasure for Eternity commendation.

You can start working on the commendation once you arrive in the town of Isla Tesoro during this Tall Tale. You will first have to travel through the Bayou and past the Coastal Fort to get here.

If you need help completing the entire Captains of the Damned Tall Tale, check out our full walkthrough here.

If you are just looking to complete Treasure for Eternity, your first step is to find the Mercado Key!

Where is the Mercado Key?

As soon as you dock at Isla Tesoro after traveling through the long cave, head into the town.

You will come to a small courtyard filled with ghosts. One poor spirit, Carlos, is being drowned in a well.

Mercado Key Well

On the lip of this well is the Mercado Key. Pick it up and bring it with you through the town.

If you drop it at any point, the key will glint from a distance like treasure, making it easy to spot.

Where to use the Mercado Key

Keep traveling through the town, past the clothing shop and barrels full of alcohol with the Mercado Key in hand.

You will soon come to a stone bridge that leads to a large clock tower and a ghostly auction. You’ll notice the building behind the auction has the word Mercado painted on it.

Mercado Key Building

Walk to the right side of this building to find a door. You will use the key here and head inside.

Light the Torch in the Mercado Building

Once inside the building, walk up the stairs and light the Torch in the window. This will allow you to continue on to the next step.

After you’ve lit the Torch, walk back down the stairs to the auction.

Follow Ghostly Rowboat Around Canal

Now that you have lit the Torch, it’s time to find the rowboat you’ll need to complete the commendation.

Head to the other side of the Mercado building and walk down the stone pathway to the canal. You will find a small dock with a rowboat that has two skeletons inside of it.

Rowboat with Skeletons

Step inside the rowboat, and a ghostly rowboat will appear in front of you. Follow this rowboat around the canal.

As you follow, you will pass through a steel gate you need to open and a ghostly scene of pirates shooting each other.

You will finally come to the spot where the ghosts in the rowboat will get off and start digging in the dirt.

Digging Valuables

Dig up Villager's Valuables

Get up out of the rowboat and hop onto land with the ghosts digging. Dig exactly where they are digging to discover the Villager’s Valuables.

Villager's Valuables

Hand in Villager's Valuables

With the Villager’s Valuables in hand, walk back to the rowboat and hand in the create to the two skeleton on the rowboat. As soon as you do, you will have completed this commendation!
