One of the many commendations you can complete while you make mischief on the Sea of Thieves is the ‘Return to Sender’ commendation.
To complete the commendation, you must board an enemy ship and then return to your own vessel using the Grapple Gun.
To perform this tricky stunt, you will need to Grapple between your ship and another enemy ship without touching the water using only your Grapple Gun!
Return to Sender
To complete the ‘Return to Sender’ commendation, you must use the Grapple Gun to board an enemy ship and then use the Grapple Gun again to board your vessel. To board a ship using the Grapple Gun, you’ll want to aim for the ship’s top deck or the back balcony of a Galleon.
Grappling a ship’s ladder and climbing up will not count toward the commendation. You also cannot start in or touch the water while you Grapple back and forth. You will want to start on your ship and use your Grapple Gun to propel you to the top deck of the enemy ship to start.
It doesn’t matter what ship type you Grapple to, so long as you land on the ship’s deck with the Grapple Gun and don’t land in the water at any point.
If the ship you are trying to board is floating at the same height as your ship, you can climb to the crow’s nest both times to get a clear view of the ship’s top deck below.
