One of the many commendations you can complete while you explore the Ancient Temples below the Sea of Thieves is the ‘Friendship and Freedom’ commendation.

To complete the commendation, you must find all the notes about the adventures of Briggsy and Legendary Louise. There is one note in each of the six Ancient Temples. You can read the notes in any order.

The six Ancient Temples are under the Skeleton Camps at Barnacle Cay, Lagoon of Whispers, Shiver Retreat, Picaroon Palms, Lookout Point, and Blind Man’s Lagoon. To enter an Ancient Temple, light the two torches on the large tower at the Skeleton Camp to lower the gate and take the lift down.

Reading all six notes and completing this commendation will unlock the Veiled Bat Tattoo. Once you’ve unlocked the Tattoo, you can purchase it from any Clothing Shop.

Barnacle Cay

Starting at Barnacle Cay, as soon as you walk down the stairs into the Ancient Temple, you’ll want to turn around to your left. You’ll find the note tucked into the corner where the stairs meet the wall on a rock next to a glowing purple plant. Interact with the note to read ‘Adventures of the Unicorn – Volume 1.’
