As you level up your Faction of choice, you will unlock commendations and cosmetics for your accomplishments. While these are great ways to show off your overall PVP prowess, what about a way to flaunt your current domination of the sea? Season Eight looks to fill that missing element of being an infamous pirate with Faction Champions!
Becoming a Champion
To become a Faction Champion, you must reach a Streak of 4 with either Faction. To achieve a Streak of 4, you must sink four rival ships without sinking or leaving your Faction from an Outpost.
As soon as you become a Champion, you will immediately have a bounty on your ship! Your ship, marked with a distinct symbol, will be visible to every crew’s Map Table sailing in your session.
Champion Ship Battle
While other crews will now be hunting you down for a 10,000 gold bonus for their Hourglass of Fate, you can choose to fight a larger foe from the War Map.
So, if you are a Sloop, you can vote to battle another Sloop as usual, or you can vote for a Champion Ship Battle where you will either face a Brigantine or Galleon! And, if you are a Brigantine, you can fight a Galleon!
Completing Champion Ship Battles doesn’t come with any extra Allegiance or gold. It is purely for bragging rights!
