You will want to double-check your immediate surroundings the next time you hear a grunt, snort, or sequel. It might not be a little Pig, but instead, a Wild Boar charging you with its deadly tusks!
Wild Boars
Wild Boars are emergent animals found in small groups on large islands throughout the Sea of Thieves. Like other emergent creatures, they randomly appear on islands, so you are not guaranteed to find a Wild Boar when you visit a large island.
Similar to Pigs, Wild Boars are skittish and easy to scare. Approaching a Wild Boar will cause it to flee, leaving a trail of prints and fruit you can follow. However, provoking a Wild Boar by following it for too long or damaging it will cause it to attack.
An attacking Wild Boar will charge you, dealing damage and causing knockback. The damage is variable, so you’ll need to be light on your feet to dodge its charge. It can kill you in just two attacks.
Wild Boars can heal themselves by eating pieces of dropped fruit on the ground. So, after engaging a Wild Boar, you’ll want to keep pressure on it to prevent it from healing.
There are two variants of Boars: brown Wild Boars and white Grand Boars. Grand Boars are larger, stronger, and more likely to attack. They also drop better rewards!
Defeating a Wild Boar will reward you with Pork, similar to Pigs. However, defeating Grand Boars will reward you with Grisly Boar Tusks or Pristine Boar Tusks. Grand Boars you find during the A Pirate’s Boar Hunt Voyage will give you a Grisly Boar Tusk, while emergent Grand Boars will drop the Pristine Boar Tusk.

Boar Wallows
Wallows are mud pits where Wild Boars stash stolen treasure. Every island that has a Wild Boar will also have a wallow. You can randomly come across them as you explore the island or follow a Wild Boar back to the wallow. Wild Boars will periodically return to their wallow to check in on their treasure.
