Gone are the days of endlessly roaming the sea looking for a worthy adversary. Now, with the power of the War Map, you can quickly find a rival crew who is also looking for a fight!
How to invade another crew
To invade another crew, you must first join a Faction from the Captain’s Cabin of your ship. To join a Faction, turn the Hourglass of Fate on the Captain’s Table to select a Faction and then vote to pledge your Allegiance.
Pledging to the Guardians of Fortune will have you fighting for the Pirate Lord against Flameheart’s servants.
Pledging to the Servants of the Flame will have you fighting for Captain Flameheart against the Pirate Lord’s guardians.
Pledge to your Faction, and you are ready to invade!

The War Map
Next, open up the War Map on your Captain’s Table. It is right next to the Hourglass of Fate. When the War Map is open, you can vote to battle. Voting will initiate the invasion process.
Before you invade, you must be in open water and clear of any threats. As soon as you are in open water, your ship will dive into an Invasion Tunnel beneath the waves.
You won’t be able to take any treasure with you during your invasion, but you can bring resources, including any Resource Crates you might have gathered.
While in the Invasion Tunnel, you will matchmake with an opponent of the same ship size. Matchmaking will also account for your crew size if you are on a Sloop.
Once you find a match, you will migrate to a new server and burst out of the water facing your opponent, ready for battle. You will migrate to your opponent’s server if they are sailing as a defender. However, if your opponent is also matchmaking in an Invasion Tunnel, you will both migrate to a new server.

The Battle
As soon as you emerge from the water, Battle Bounds will confine the fight to a specific area on the map. If your opponent sails past the Battle Bounds, their ship will explode, and they will forfeit the match.
With the battle started, it’s time to duke it out!
If you win the battle, your Streak will go up, and you will earn Allegiance for your Faction. However, if you lose, you will be automatically removed from your Faction and make a small amount of Allegiance. You will also migrate to another server away from your opponent.
You can use the War Map immediately after the battle to find another match if you are ready to go again. However, you can’t leave your Faction and cash out your rewards at an Outpost for at least 15 minutes after first joining.
Luckily, another crew cannot invade you for at least 20 minutes after a battle giving you plenty of time to make it back to an Outpost if you want to end your Streak.
